    Without the mosfet/bcu you lose burst fire and the battery protection functions. Also with no end cap one good shot and your tracer unit is fucked. Seen it happen to a few including one of mine. £100 new or £70 with bits missing and half the functions unavailable. Think you drastically need to rethink the price bud.

    Its usually the bucking nub not centred. This can be caused by it either needs turning slighlty, it's damaged or the hop arm is not coming down square.

    Yeah it is the main thing. Put a screwdriver into the spring guide before separating the two halves and hold it in position. Be careful of the anti reversal latch spring as it is one of the most common lost parts.

    Look up JCI comms on facebook. He built me a PTT with Racal Frontiers in ear noise cancelling buds. All connects to a Baofeng radio but he can change to what ever connections your radio requires.

    Yeah mine is fitted with a kenwood for my uv82 and both 3.5mm and 5 pin fittings. Both transmit buttons and a mute button for the ptt speaker as you can switch between earpiece or speaker. Busy little unit. Worth giving him a shout if you want any mods.

    I know he is a mate. I think he just did one so I just wondered. He built my dual ptt mic to work with either my Racals or a normal 3.5mm jack. Good bit of work and worth a shout next time you need something (shameless plug).

    Trying to be clever doesn't suit. Only offering advice as there is no aftermarket sig hop unit only original manufacturer ones. There was one but it was rare as hell and absolute garbage. Not all manufacturer ones are compatible either.
