  1. I managed to get a hop component CNC machined (by a hobbyist on a CNC forum) for my ICS L85 to replace the crappy plastic arm, but a whole hop unit would be a fair bit more complex, with multiple pieces. it would make a good CAD project, take apart an old one, break out the micrometer and get modelling
  2. GHK G5 GBBR 4 extra mags Big gas bottle and some maintenance gas if the good word is to be believed, then this will be really good fun next week even if the temperature goes right down
  3. is the thermal lens similar to a motorcycle helmet visor pinlock system? a thin piece which site just inside the visor and literally prevents all fogging? I hope it is and ESS get their mits on some for the cross series of mine
  4. A thread to express your feelings to the situation developing in France following the "islamist" massacre at the Charlie Hebdo office. Please keep from flaming, in the spirit of free expression if nothing else. im sure we all extend our deepest regards to the victims and their families. No person deserves to be attacked for their own expression, let alone killed in such a manner. May they rest in peace, and the culprits brought to justice. Je suis charlie nous somme charlie
  5. Indeed, if you can find someone willing to trust you enough to sell you an RIF, then the only person to have broken the law is the seller. You can walk away with your new toy with no reprisal (unless the police investigating the seller have good reason to believe that youre a nut job and up to no good with it... I guess)
  6. Ive replaced it with a WE part, asking around i couldnt find any aftermarket parts, but i think filling the mag too much might be the original problem
  7. You can get a surplus Osprey Mk 4 (british army issue) for 60 quid, if you dont mind MTP
  8. Star wars:battlefront all the way. For the love of god please let it be worth the wait.
  9. If its brand new it will probably need lubing up. Put some silicone oil between all the moving parts and see if that helps. If that fails, then its definitely back to the shop with it
  10. Not correct. Nowhere in any legislation is any "51% rule" mentioned. True, it almost universally satisfies the VCRA, but the only requirement is that it appear unrealistic. No public servant is going to measure your IF to check that 51 percent of the visible surface area is painted, and a replica might still look realistic if the first 51 percent you cover when you carry or use is painted bright colours. It comes down to common sense and the "reasonable person" argument
  11. King of the necro-post. If your parents have a defence (ie. UKARA) they may buy one and GIVE it to you. The law gives that ANYONE buying an RIF must have a defence, such as UKARA or other recognised by the Home Office Give the VCRA, its amendment and its guidance notes a read, its free (obviously) and is the single best point of info.
  12. Well, perhaps its my own fault for buying a WE, or maybe I missed a bit of lube, but the loading nozzle of my sidearm has snapped, making it near enough unusable. Does anyone know of any upgrade loading nozzles compatible with the WE line of 22x's or will i have to replace it with a WE part and wait for it to break again? Also, is there a guide anywhere on BBU disassembly so that i dont damage anything? Thanks
  13. Sounds like you have a phantom selector... Glad you got it working again, like most gun issues, some simple tlc often does a world of good
  14. Ive tried a few lubricants on my pistol and GHK silicone oil seems the best, and was reccomended by my local GBB expert retailer, easy to apply evenly but the stoppers on the bottles are crap, its only a matter of time till i cover something in silicone oil
  15. Im not familiar with the specific gearbox, but usually the cut-off lever is pushed up by the sector gear, cutting the circuit until the trigger is depressed again. The fault could therefore be anywhere between the sector gear and the trigger contacts. Hope it helps
  16. Firing full auto on semi could be a bad component in the box itself (cut-off lever), or just a bad component on the outside of the box. Without being familiar with the gun or holding it to troubleshoot, its impossible to say for certain
  17. Patrol base have some good 150 rd PTS mags i believe. I use them with my ics l85
  18. Chock, The firearms act explicitly forbids carrying an imitation firearm in public, so you cannot walk down the street with an airsoft gun even if it is well two-toned, so people should DEFINITELY not do that
  19. I was planning on war paint anyway, ill make sure he doesnt look realistic. just remembered i should check that my local site's insurance covers elephant rampages... Im sure its mentioned in the waiver
  20. I have a pet elephant and he finds krak heads delicious. He also thought that the RSPCA man was tasty too. Maybe i could bring monty to my next skirmish and go all far cry 4 on the enemy team... Does an adult elephant need to take his hits?
  21. Yea, i got that to kick start my kit, and im still using the boots with my mtp gear, i cant fault the kit at all and its dirt cheap
  22. I didnt know New Look did army surplus, ill have to check it out sometime
  23. Really? Shouldnt the natural decay of charge just gently bring the charge down anyway?
  24. Where is your balance lead in the photo? Whether the juice goes through the tamiya or not, you need to balance the cells using this lead else one cell will grow unstable over time and goose the battery, or worse. The charger should have a socket which accepts the balance plug, as its impossible to balance the battery using just two wires, the third wire on the balancer sits between the cells so the charger can measure the voltage of each cell
  25. You may as well charge them fully, then top them up just before a game, like a gas mag
