  1. Have you seen the airsoft innovation oil pump for propane? Dead easy to use. As for the silicone oil, as long as its really light weight (AI use 1.5 wt, so that the sili is easily dissolved) you should be fine
  2. 1) try abbey maintenance gas. I empty my mags then put a bit of this in (as advised by a highly reputable source) and it does a bloody good job 2) Empty the mag then add a drop of sili oil to each valve. Press the knocker a few times to work it through (if the release valve was leaking) and refill (with maintenance gas) leave the leaky seal on top so the oil is pulled down through the seal then store the mag with the leaky valve on the bottom (unless youre using ABBEY maintenance gas) as silicone is not gaseous and will settle to the bottom of the chamber, and the newly dried propane in the top will draw lubricant from the seals on top.
  3. I use ghk sili oil, cant fault it one bit. It makes a bit of a mess when you fire it but its easy enough to clean up
  4. My g5 only had one leaky mag, and i could fix that on site with some silli spray. The build quality of those things is incredible, definitely worth the 45-50 quid a mag
  5. If its brand new did you lube up the bolt? If the bolt cant move it wont reset the trigger. Otherwise, low or cold gas can fail to trip the valve in the bolt and/or push it all the way back
  6. I use near dry propane in my 228 and ive not had any issues despite two days solid use back to back. I think its just wear and tear. To be absolutley fair to WE, the only issues ive had with mine i caused myself
  7. Pts dont have a button on the bottom, but hold 150 bbs If they are pts ones they will have a window showing faux 5.56 rounds and a bright orange follower which is visible in the windows when the mag is half full or full
  8. Picx would help a lot, so we can identify it. It sounds as if you have a couple of mid caps, load them with a speedloader directly into the bb feed tube A lot of companies make p-mags. I use PTS ones in my l85, so we need some pics
  9. Quite right, it depends on the site. My locals require under 16s to use one piece face protection, 16-18 year olds to use that OR two piece face protection. It kind of is the law, because if a minor were to be injured (tooth shot out, hitting inside the moutg etc), the site owners would be held responsible in the first instance for failing to protect them (until they prove they did everything reasonable to protect them, and point the HSE to a more suitable culprit) . Over 18s are expected to make that decision themselves and accept the risk, especially when the safety brief recommends full face protection.
  10. Little reel lanyard to attach my bfg pin to... So i wont drop it again... Need to find a way of keeping the loading tool close to hand and secure. Perhaps i could drill a small hole in the plastic and tie a lanyard into it?
  11. I personally wear polycarb eyeshields, with mesh lower face and a cap to protect my head. My UBACS has a high neck so there is very little chance if taking a hit there so i dont bother with any restrictive neck protection Having said that, one lucky pellet did find its way to my neck today... Hit the zipper on my UBACS but it still stung.
  12. my GHK G5 did well today, proving that it can not only work at freezing (and work well) but it will also take some rough abuse; I fell over a couple of times today on the muddy slopes at Anzio, and after brushing the crap away, it still worked well enough to sneak up on some fools
  13. Bought a bottle of propane from Amazonia in case i use more than expected over this weekend (two days, one of them at an indoor site which is very fast-paced), spent £7 thinking i had a good deal. two bottles were in the box thats 4 times the usage of green gas for less than one bottle cost
  14. No QC reigime is perfect, and the one in a thousand or one in a million products that is defective (note that both of those are reasonable tolerances in some applications) might end up in your kit bag, and let you down when you need it. However, the main point of my original post has been missed: EN 166 F IS NOT ENOUGH FOR AIRSOFT A cheap pair of goggles meeting 166 f will not be designed or tested to the standards that you need Im not sure about the American equivalent. Unless your eye pro is 166 B (goggles and masks only are allowed this), or it has been tested AND certified to an acceptable standard (ie at least 2.5j impact rated) then you NEED TO TEST YOUR EYEPRO, BECAUSE UNTIL YOU DO, NOBODY HAS So, for clarity: EN 166 F IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH Seriously, how much effort does it take to test them?
  15. Its worth mentioning that neither of my gbb guns held the bb in the barrel when i draw the bolt/slide, and each shoots perfectly. My p228 will drop the bb, so i just point it down as i rack the slide, keeping the bb in place. Does that work in your pistol and will it cycle correctly? In my G5, the stock hop rubber would hold onto the bb, but wouldnt lift a 0.25, and when i swapped the bucking and nub to fix the hop performance, the bbs now roll into the mag well when i draw the bolt. I just thought that was the design? Allowing you to easily clear the chamber without fishing for a cleaning rod.
  16. Because manufacturers cant test every single pair that they produce and we cant just take their word for it.
  17. Take a photo of the underside of the nozzle, is the loading nub in place?
  18. Dried peas: crap acurracy but i bet they leave a good welt when you sneak up on a greenie
  19. Did this thread go off topic a little Back to the point, if someone from the green party manages to get some big hitters to get behind this, our community may well be screwed, and we may have to get them to extend their "licence" idea to cover recreation, like shotguns now. Maybe we could host a skirmish at their office and show them that there are indeed legitimate reasons to own a toy gun... Then start throwing bfgs at the dozy buggers
  20. EN 166 says that it should be able to take the impact indefinitely, as many times as you can hit it. Most armour plates and all crash helmets are sacrificial, meaning they only work once. Eyepro should NEVER be sacrificial, as you might take a burst of full auto. If your eyepro is damaged, deformed or its performance impaired in any way when used within its test parameters, then it is faulty and does not meet the standards of EN 166 If you are worried that testing your eyepro might weaken them, how can yoy trust them to work when you need them? this doesnt change the fact that EN166 F is not enough for airsoft use, since almost every gun out there is powerful enough to exceed the test limits of EN166f. EN166B (goggles only) is the next class and is plenty for airsoft. Not to say that all 166f glasses are no good, military spec eyeshields are bloody tough, as 166 only sets the MINIMUM standard
  21. GUYS! EN 166f is NOT sufficient for airsoft! Most branded glasses will be but 166f means it will take a 0.8j impact without being damaged, whereas most airsoft guns pump out bbs with over 1.1j You MUST ALWAYS test any 166f eyepro before you stake your vision on them. 166B however is plenty for airsoft, so a quick check from a friends/marshalls sniper is enough. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS test your eyepro. My ESS Cross shields earned their keep when they saved my eyes from a stubby twig that was kicked up at me by a mk5, you cant test for that, so you want to spend some good money on eyepro Polycarbonate is cheap, your eyes are priceless. Simple
  22. Probably the latter, although likely a bit of both as well
  23. Sneaky use of thremodynamics... I like it
  24. One of my mags was leaking, but a blast of maintenance gas and a day in my gun case later its holding fine Maintenance gas seems good at lubricating the seals without much faff
  25. - vortex flash hider for my G5 * - polycarbonate optic protector * found that a shattered bb had jammed in my stock flash hider, so bought a replacement thats a bit more open to prevent it happening again
