So, this was my project the other night. Picked up this single shot Double Eagle shotgun to go with a Walking Dead inspired zombie apocalypse survivor loadout for zombie themed games and for CQB as a primary. I've already got a full on tactical shotty so I wanted something a bit more civillian looking or for when I finally get round to buying a DEA jacket. The whole process took about 2 hours. I started off with Halfords camouflage matt black as base coat. Once that had dried I painted on a thick coat of reddish brown (I can find the exact name if anybody is bothered) and while the paint was wet took a brush with really stiff bristles that I found in a cupboard and basically scraped the paint from one side to the other so the black showed through and gave a grain effect. Once the brown had dried I did the same with burnt umber acrylic paint and scraped it off so the other colours showed through and then the same proces with black. I took a cloth to it in places and rubbed the paint off, scratched the stock and tried to get an element of texture around the parts that would get the most wear. I don't actually think it's weathered enough so I'm going to take a chisel and some sandpaper to it and the weekend. I'm tempted to darken up the top and bottom of the stock to simulate wear. Let me know what you think, I'm pretty chuffed with it and it looks fairly convincing in the flesh. Appologies for crap iphone pics and for the wife's choice of tablecloth...........3 points -

Ian, must you make it so easy? I was well behaved this time and stayed away from the war crime pictures, as hard as it was to do...2 points -

I think we're overdue a picture of a gun on this thread, so here's my G&G Top Tech TR15.1 point -
^^You know what I'm developing as a policy toward CYMA internals, GK? Leave 'em alone. They're meant to be loose and noisy and coated in earwax - they work best that way. You put a TBB in there, you'll need a spring downgrade. The next thing, you'll be wiping all that earwax out and doing a nice shim job. Then you're going to check the compression and find it's shit. So you'll want a new O-ring, maybe a piston head. A new piston head on that nasty looking off-white plastic piston...? So that's a nice new SHS blue one. And that crappy no-O-ring air nozzle...? No way, man! What you want in there is a nice shiny ali one... going into the stock, who-knows-what-degree hop rubber...? Nah... gotta be a G&G Green at least, maybe a Prommy Purple for a marksman rifle... maybe get a new CNC hop unit to go with... And by then, if it's working as well as it did when it was stock, the noodly-appendaged god of airsoft is smiling on you... Edit: OOps, i almost forgot! Thanks for the info on the sling point. Have you got a linky?1 point
