Thanks for the input. Sure it’s an M4, I know  I’ve not performed magic.

I like M4s, it’s all simple stuff and I know it’s a well walked path.

I just love how it’s turned out

If you don’t like it feel free to not click the link titled L119A2 - what did you expect? a Bazooka?

I like M4s too (I have three).

I just like baiting people that get upset when you dare suggest that their L119A2 is just an M4 in a fancy frock.

Yours is very nice though (but if you do have a Bazooka that would be SO MUCH COOLER!!!!!)

  • GStevo80 changed the title to NGRS L119A2 build (M4)

No no, it’s definitely that! Just an M4 variant.

But to be fair to the guys who get precious it’s not one you can just buy off the shelf so it’s always a risk when you start feking about with your £500 toy hoping it’ll be ok, will the motor be ok in that grip, will the rail be a different shade to the upper etc etc.

I'm a huge fan of all M4 platforms. Not been into Airsoft long enough to want to get into AKs yet

I am chuffed how it’s come out, and mine isn’t as high skill level as these ones on the specialist sites so it might be helpful for a bit of Dutch courage for someone thinking about it (I’ve had the rail a couple of months now umming and ahhhing about what ifs)

It's a great start for a 119 A2 build, however I'm going to ask if you intend to add the proper details ? pistol grip and stock are not correct for an A2 , needs the reciever mods on the upper etc.

Not running it down , its a good looking gun but rather like the AI magazine build more an 'impression' of an A2 at the moment.

Yeah agreed Nick, honestly mate I’ve not got the money or the stamina to get it correct at the moment.

Stock I decided on because I want the 3000 Amp Titan battery. It’s not a wall hanger it’s my only weapon and it’s primary use is flinging BBs I did look for a Magpul solution with reasonable cost but I didn’t find one that met all my requirements.

Pistol grip is an experiment. It’s close enough to be good and I’m hoping I’ll get less forearm pain… let’s see.

it’s definitely not a replica, then again the blokes that use them mod everything so much i doubt there really is a correct way

Fair enough, to be honest they tend to be ongoing builds ! Just when I thought my A2 was more or less done was when I found out that the buffer tube needs some of the threads removing and the buffer nut is different. My A1 GBBR is pretty damn close and I'm working on a GBBR A2 build for a mate which likewise is going to be very close, but I need to go back to my AEGs and add some extra details that I didn't know about at the time.  My AEG A2 build, about to be revisited!

That’s mega Nick, love it! - “Pukka”

Do you find the mag release catch sometimes releases the mag on your kit when carrying the rifle? I’ve heard that’s a complaint which is why I didn’t do that mod.

to be honest with you I was extremely tempted to switch fire completely to a GBBR partly due to the added realism and extra weight of the mags (perverted maybe but I wanted it) and also the opportunity to fit any stock and grip and not need to worry about motors or batteries.

I actually bought a TM MK 18 GBBR and I was going to do it, but then I read the thread on here about the drama of getting the barrel but off and I bottled it, cancelled the order and decided to not worry about the limitations and go for it with the NGRS and get it as close as practical while keeping it a great plastic slinger.

But I do have in the back of my mind to save up, buy a TM CQBR GBB and make an A1 so I have both.

im also considering offering my set up for swaps at some point, (maybe) it’s possible  someone who went TM GBB might wish they went NGRS for the weight and ammo factors and do me a straight swap. And if they don’t then I’ll keep saving.

I can only shoot one at a time unfortunately :)

Was the upper a lot of work? Did you modify using those little bits of 3D printed plastic that guy from L119 lovers makes?

I was tempted to ask him but the idea of repainting the whole upper made me question it.

seeing yours just reminds me how far off mine is! Lol

Thanks, it's a bit of a labour of love ! Taken plenty of time to get to that stage, I started from a blank reciever for mine and built from scratch.

Yours is getting there, when you can , put some time into it and it'll soon be spot on.

Not had any issues with the mag catch at all on the A2

on mine I did the upper mods with miliput and lots of careful sculpting , for the GBBR I'm doing at he moment we have a set of the 3d printed parts to try, it'll be interesting to compare. I didnt find doing it particularly problematic although years of model building may have helped. Had the machining done by LCs engineering.

This is a picture they sent of the machined and engraved parts for the A2 GBBR showing the work done.

I've pretty much only run my GBBR A1 this year ! take an AEG  along on game day and it stays in the bag Lol.

The gas guns are very imersive and loads of fun. My A1 is based on a WE M4 and uses quite a few real steel parts.  The A2 is getting genuine stock, pistol grip, fore grip  buffer tube and mag catch. I tend to run 5 single mags and one double mag for a game and re fill with BBs from a speed loader,  get about 2.5 BB loads from a gas fill. Mine runs happily on red gas pretty much all year, certainly in temperatures as low as I'm prepared to go out in !

My gas A1, it's got a more accurate ACOG on it now and the sure fire flash hider as I often run it with the can on for the look of it.

Buffer nut is incorrect in that picture but now has a proper one on it . Would love to get a genuine British SF spec KAC rail for it, but they are a bit 'hen's teeth' and hellish expensive when they come up.

Wow Nick, that’s a work of art you’ve got going on there! Bravo.

We are at very different levels when it comes to this stuff! I definitely understand why you’d consider mine more of an impression than a build lol.

Do you have a link or a point of contact for the 3D printed bits for the upper or are you doing it yourself?

I was the guy who designed them. I gave the files to someone on the facebook L119 group as I can't be arsed printing them out loads of times. If you have access to a resin printer let me know and I'll send the bumps for each side, the Colt logo for the left side of the receiver and the fake selector switch for the right hand side.

Hi, nice work!

Thanks for the offer of support but no I don’t have anything that technical, I feel this thread has gone into deep waters that I can’t survive in!

im definitely more of a casual enthusiast.

If there was a guy happily knocking them out and making a few quid for his trouble then I’d buy some so I had the option one day.

I don’t have the kit to do it myself and I don’t need or want anyone going to any trouble.

Thanks for getting in touch with the offer though!

The chap on the L119 owners club on facebook is Bruno Carvalho . Easiest option would be to drop him a PM . Forget how much the set I got cost .

They arrived pretty quickly as I recall. He also does a few other 119 bits.
