Hey everyone,

You'll probably think this topic is crazy. However, being a lady I have found so far that I am the only female at events I've attended!?? Do you find this the case in general?

What do you think of having female players with you? Honestly? Tbh I've had no problems and get on with everyone... But I do get stuck in to it lol!

Just curious why there's not many of us about =in the Midlands at least anyway!?)

i think its just something more guys are more into than most women. theres a few that frequent our site but not as regularly as most of the male regulars. and most of th girls that do it regularly that i know of do it because their other halfs do it(from my experience) as to why, i dont know. would alwas be good to have more girls out like, specially as its really the only way i seem to meet people atm...

I love the fact that females play this game, Airsoft tends to seem to be male orientated which is I think is wrong, it should be enjoyed by both sexes with no issues.

We've got a few women who frequent the local site just as much as the other lads,on their own accord, not because their SO drags them to it,pretty MILSIM heavy girls too. There's no changes in how people play. People are generally friendly and don't really care about sexes,it's nice to have a few girls around in sausage fest hobby like airsoft. It's just dark ages cultural standards rearing it's ugly head when some arseholes decided women can;t fight along the lads because god will light us on fire.

Last big MILSIM I was at there were a fair few women,20 or so,maybe more. Didn't meet half my team as they were across the site.

In Japan, birthplace of our beloved hobby, they have an Anime show about secondary school girls running an airsoft club, sponsored by Tokyo Marui so they can market their shite to all sexes,so airsoft is starting to get not so single sex dominated.

Yes i understand haha, i do think airsoft, or most Combat orientated sport are targeted for and by males....obiously that dosent mean women dont get involved. unlike most sports, ive found airsofters to be a really friendly bunch so it dosent really matter who you are, if ur sound, ur sound :)

At Bristol Airsoft, Females are free walkon on Weds nights atm. It's still rare to get them :)

Under tactical vests and facemasks the only real difference is the target size.

There is one really annoying girl who I have seen a few times who is tiny, you go round a corner and she is below the level of the barrel of my gun and I never see her until it's too late :D

I think it's something about having toys to play with that appeals to us guys more than girls :D

airsoft dose seem to be male dominated atm :( , and the most i have seen at my local was 4 or 5 (2 being marshals).

but don't let that put you off, as the female players were ecstatic after a game win, and you women are crazy, i would rather face 4 or 5 blokes than 1 woman ;) !!!

How many men do you see clothes shopping..?

*Excluding men with wives/ girlfriends..*

Men do shop for clothes, its just a different technique. We will tend to be replacing something that's worn out with another that is similar. We don't spend very long doing it as we have important Man stuff to do :)

If you look in the Guns Gear and loadouts section, you will see evidence of lots of men who have devoted a lot of time to putting together their perfect outfit :D

I've never actually seen a female with a pink gun. MP5's seem popular. Did once talk to a woman at GZ wearing a cheapo fancy dress french maid outfit and dual wielding pistols - lot of bare flesh / had to have resulted in a few bleeders, but she was having a right laugh. There's a tiny young woman who comes to Skirmish Airsoft Mansfield, Rachael, who runs a uni airsoft society - camo kecks and dark T-shirts usually iirc. She doesn't wear lower face protection (I do to protect my teeth and so I can still talk/eat); I asked her if she was not worried about facial scars, but she said she wasn't.

Haha thanks for the response! And no I haven't witnessed anyone with a pink Gun lol and although I do like pink I definitely wouldn't want mine that colour!

Free! Omg why can't they have that around here ;)

Will check out Mansfield as it's not too far from me thanks :-D

Looking forward to the weekend now can't wait... Few more days and I get to test out my new Gun! X

There's a woman called Wendy who comes to Skirmish Mansfield without being dragged by her partner too. In fact she drags her partner and son along! She's another good player, ex-army but not butch, and a good laugh too. There's also Michele, but she was originally dragged by her partner, though she marshals more than plays these days. Couple of others every now and then, but I don't know them.

There was a lady at the Malls last Sunday rocking a SCAR-H. She was jolly good with it too.

I don't think that airsoft isn't inclusive more that it's just not that appealing to a lot of women. My wife has said she'd like to come but is worried about getting hurt (obviously my response was "well, don't get shot then") which I think is more of a concern for women than men (cos we're 'ard innit), plus BDUs aren't exactly flattering, are they?
