Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 9, 2013 Supporters Share Posted October 9, 2013 a couple of the site near me will report you to the old bill for purposely aiming for some ones head .... if only his/her head is showing, its fair game You do understand the logic of "it's the most protected part of them because they get given paintball masks" Right? The game isn't about causing pain, it's about removing the enemy team from the game. So if I can do that in the least painful way possible, I will. At least I know what to do/try not to do when i go for my first game. Hopefully I wont be used for headshot practice!!! Useful advice is hidden carefully though. Well spotted! Truth of the matter is that this kind of thing DOES happen. It's one of the less desirable parts of the past time but it is nevertheless part of it. Try not to make it worse and help the marshals keep control of it by pointing out the people that repeatedly do it, they usually take a pretty dim view of it (if they don't then find a different site that's run properly). If you accidentally shoot someone walking back (they're usually easily spotted by their slightly bemused/depressed/dejected demeanour) then man up and admit it and apologise. It's all that most people would want.
Moose87
you all have to admit tho that head shotting someone is satisfying. i had a kid who was running past a long barrier only a few metres away. the single bb i fired hit him straight in the side of the head. he almost dropped his gun in pain. LAC rules, see rule 42 >>>http://www.lincolnshireairsoftclub.co.uk/downloads/airsoft-rules/ 42. Deliberate headshots will not be tolerated at any time and will be dealt with by the marshals most harshly. When only the head is present, a single headshot will be permitted. that's the sites rules, and they do state that at the safety briefing, adding in the bit about the old bill. Moose87
thats the stupidest thing ever. if i wanna shoot someone in the head then i can. as long as its not atupidly close
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 9, 2013 Supporters Share Posted October 9, 2013 Yeah, that is daft. Whenever I go airsofting, I almost always get shot exclusively in the face. To the point where my mates have started putting a grid over my face and betting on the sections that'll get hit. It actually happens that much. That site seem to be a bit power crazed, the number of rules they've laid out is ridiculous, I've never even seen a site layout the rules online in a published format, that's what safety briefs are for. If I were a new player and saw that on their site I'd probably be put off because it makes it sound like it's staffed by the police and if you do anything wrong you'll get banged up or something. If you're close enough that shooting someone would hurt them, but they have a fully armoured face, it's perfectly logical to shoot them in the face. To argue otherwise would be moronic. I hope they can overlook their own rules in certain circumstances otherwise I'd have to just label them as idiots and avoid the site completely. It's just reminded me of that thing from Top Gear once where Clarkson's arguing about common sense with an American cop and the cop says, "You don't need common sense when we've got laws (herpaderpaderp!)" Nickona
Its one of the reasons I'm not keep on CQB there seem to be way more issues then with woodland and far more cases of people overkilling, power play and generally cheating.
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 9, 2013 Supporters Share Posted October 9, 2013 Power play isn't something I've ever actually encountered playing woodland, I don't think it's even possible in a proper woodland setting. I wasn't even aware of the term until I went to Anzio.

Nickona
Its basically where the play is very aggressive and often involve shooting people a lot at very close range with an unnecessarily large amount of BBs. Its normally excessive and those doing it tend not to take hits that well Its not too dissimilar to paintball speedball in many ways but in airsoft its closer and more aggressive and often its only few people doing it against a bunch of rentals
Moose87
ahh i get it. yer i have seen that. people who play at a site alot and are like.....'what i cant be shot by someone whos not as good as me!!! i shall ignore it and overkill rentals. muhwhahahaha.' CaptainSwoop
My son got shot in the side of the neck by a sniper on his first outing. It stung like hell but he thought it was great, tought him to keep his head down.
Supporters Lozart Posted October 9, 2013 Supporters Share Posted October 9, 2013 Hmmm...interesting viewpoint there. For me the up close and frantic nature of CQB is what appeals to me. The Malls basically have some safety based rules (don't lean too far over the balcony, if you need an inhaler put it in your top left pocket - that kind of thing) but as far as legal hits goes it's anything apart from the gun in your hand. The main basic rule there is pretty much "don't be a dick". I've always found the marshals to be observant and firm but fair in respect to cheating which I think has produced a site full of regulars that know the score and mostly, aren't dicks! Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 9, 2013 Supporters Share Posted October 9, 2013 i havent heard the term. define please. To add to what Nick said, the marshals at Anzio explained it by conjuring up a situation where there are, say 5 guys in a room, then someone runs in, shoots 2 and then gets shot, but carries on to kill the other 3 before calling it. Power play - Because they basically gave them self the power of god, for the sake of 3 more kills.

two_zero
meh. First time I played polo I almost ran into a bystander and apologised, he was like "don't say sorry!! I'm standing on your field man!". and if you watch beginners mauy thai, you're more than likely to at some point hear a trainer shout "Don't say sorry!" It's an action sport, which by default includes being shot with plastic bbs. Accidents will happen, you will get shot by mistake, deliberately etc. etc. althou, it's always nice to receive an apology, and to give one. But I'd say it's not to be expected in most cases. oh, just as a side note! Once I ran into a room and started shooting the very startled occupants. Some 14 year old or so that didn't get out of the way fast enough when he was hit got a bit offended when a few more bbs hit him.. not deliberately shooting at a dead man thou (cramped area, many people, very fast action, people entering thru the same door he was using to leave, etc). So he thought it was a good idea to get into a really cool pose, probably saying something in line with "I'm already dead you moron", pull out his desert eagle, aka mighty fearsome deathbringer, and shoot me repeatedly in the stomach area at almost point blank.. I might even have felt it if he used a proper airsoft gun^^ (might just copypaste that to a battle stories thread sometime)
