  1. Hey guys, so I bought a PDI VSR piston sear.......and........installed it. It works fine as far as I can tell. No hang ups or anything. I ant speak for other brands per se, but the PDI one fit with no problems. Now that said, who can say they are 100% sure the trigger sear is VSR 10 compatible?
  2. I was thinking of entering that AI thing, the post about it on their website that they linked on Facebook was posted in 2011, so I don't think there's a deadline. Which is good news, because there are still a few minor things I'd like to add to my loadout. I can't think of anything worse than being captured in a magazine showing off my loadout when it's not done. No one else would know, but it'd eat away at me lol.
  3. Can we Post about time waster's or is it still frowned on. I Only ask as a Certain member Successfully Read the Title to my L96 Ad but failed to read anything further other than find the Pwetty Picture's Also Shameless Plug http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/11800-warrior-l96/

If something was hot, I'd rather keep away from it that take my time pressing it.

But I guess it's different for you button rapists, eh?

  4. I run .25 blasters in everything except my sniper (.3 blasters). .25s are great in the CM16 as its what I used in mine when I had it, more than anything I noticed a tighter grouping at max range than with .2s.
  5. theres nothing wrong with the combat machines... I use .20g in my cm16 raider L they work fine, accurate/good range anything heavier may make it slightly more accurate but will reduce the velocity and therefore range also 0.20's are so much cheaper than heavier BB's
  6. Does anyone know if the standard Daniel Defence Rail would fit an ARES L85A2 without needing an adapter? Or modifying anything in anyway?

    1. Airsoft-Ed

      Airsoft-Ed

The real one fits the Ares, the airsoft one doesn't, I don't think it even fits with an adaptor. The real one is your only option.

It varies, depending on where you look. They can go for anything from £250 to £50, though they're generally around £80 on ebay I think.

  7. It's an awesome beast of a tank, there really need to be more tank games. Or at least more tanks in games. BF3s lack of focus on anything that isn't Russian or American is slightly annoying. Where's my Sig P226 and Chally 2 at? D=
  8. Good job I bought that mask specifically for my ultra light rig. Just tried using it with my G36c and even with the Eotech it's practically impossible to get a good sight picture. Do not try one of these masks with iron sights I guess it's the NOB for the one handed weapons and my M88 for anything I actually want to aim NOB.
  9. You'll only get dye to take on the cotton portion of the fabric - if the sleeves are the usual 40/60 polycotton then 40% of it will not dye. Of course the moisture wicking bit is all manmade polymers so that won't dye at all. It may stain due to dying, but that will wash off pretty soon. Basically, whatever colour you want, that's the colour you need to either buy or make. Still, I have a DPM jacket that was dyed before it came to me, I think with black. You can still see all the colours but they are just a lot darker. It may have been dark green dye though, because the green seems to have changed shade as well as light vs dark. Whatever... it's unusual and looks pretty cool. Really good night camo (like better than anything I've ever (not) seen)!
  10. So TM's Glocks Shoot their Slide's off on Green Gas (Propane with added silicone) and therefore have a major downside so either you can not run them on anything stronger than Green gas for an extended amount of time in this climate or TM don't have quite as good a QC as the TM FanBoy's Claim. KWA Glocks Run well here in Scotland don't Crack their slide's on GG Granted Mag's can be an asshole to get hold of and Upgrade part's are exspensive and few and far between. I'd rather a KWA Over a TM because I can run an easy to find gas constantly without worrying about when my Glocks slide will shoot off again.
  11. CQB, go for a GBB. model, that's down to personal preference., ability to get a follow up shot off is usually more important than being silent. ROF doesn't really exist with pistols as it applies to rifles. You won't ever be able to pull the trigger fast enough before everything has reset to worry about it (certainly not as a new player with no real practice, It'd take a VERY good pistol user and a shite pistol to worry about that) FPS IS NOT IMPORTANT AT ALL. It's all down to the hop up and thankfully TM's hop units are made from magic and fairy dust, you'll get a better ranged shot from a TM doing 290fps than pretty much anything else you can use at a skirmish. Try a few out, get a feel of the main few (Hi capa, PX4, XDM, Glock) and choose from them, you won't be dissapointed with your choice and no worries, man. It's the reason I'm here, no use having new players buying shitty kit, getting frustrated and leaving the sport as they haven't been well informed.
  12. I finally got around to try to fix the slam firing on this gun, I purchased the shs vsr sear, the curly one( never remember the correct name, trigger sear I think) it fits fine and for a short while, well half a game had no probs. however now slam firing again. Looking at the piston sear it is very well worn and can't find anything that looks the same. As for upgrade kit, you can purchase direct from ares, I did and not a bad price. Also if you contact them with the part number they will send you the replacement parts as well. But not free of charge :-( but still you can at least replace the parts that have gone. I had asked if they will be doing reinforced sears, but was told not at the moment. Shame really as the sears are crappy pot metal and as such in having to speak to done milling people to see if they can make them. This is one expensive rifle that at the original price should have had a decent trigger box.
  13. If you can find the Ares upgrade kits, then feel free to try one, I can't find any in stock anywhere in the UK. I'd quite like to give the CO2 conversion kit a go as well. I was going to get a PDI barrel for it just the other day, but the shop were out of stock =[ As for the hop, with mine I have to have the screw so loose it's almost falling out, otherwise it over hops everything - I put a hop up nub from an AEG in the hop unit to give it better lift. It seems to have had the desired effect, and then some lol. Your English is very good by the way. And regarding the sears, I'm still struggling to find anything that I know will fit. The trigger sear from a VSR will fit, but the one it comes with seems pretty decent as well. The part I'm worried about breaking the most is the spring guide stopper. The piece you can pull out of the trigger mech to get the bolt out without taking the trigger mechanism off. But I'm not sure if any other ones fit.
  14. Hello guys, I Chrono'd it this sunday ; 400 FPS with .20 bbs, and 340-370 with .28bb's which i use... I got some good kills, its decent , tho when played in forest ambush scenarios, it jammed on me couple times, also the bolt crushing bb's, bb's hitting flash hider and getting stuck in it, obstructing barrel problems occured... I opened it up according to your guide and cleaned , maintenanced it with some silicone oil... seems you are right and it is a problem toy, nevertheless, ill keep using it as a perfect toy, a perfect L115, will keep u guys updated if anything occurs... and will ask for help also when modding, Till then, take care mates, and cheers
  15. Just caught up on forum moderation after a weekend away. Let me know if there is anything I have missed that needs attention.

  16. Well an awful lot of it is just patches and stickers in fairness. The cap, the black hoodie and the MC pouch were sent over by MSM for reviewing which is lucky because I can only just barely justify spending the money I do on kit for the loadouts I plan, let alone superfluous luxuries. Then again, is anything other than some old clothes, eye-pro snaffled from stores and a cheap AEG really a necessity for airsoft? Be a very small hobby if we only ever used the real basics. But yeah, not had anything show up for some time then 5 packages all got delivered between Tuesday and Friday. Which is nice in the long run I suppose. Edit, here's the Kryptek out of the packaging:
  17. Thanks for the swift response mate, well now that i know i have to spend a lot more to get this baby a decent accuracy and range it seems... as I said, I'll chrono it this sunday, and ill post it here too clarify ASG's out of box specs; but still if its 400-415ish something that wont be satisfying, if i get a 450ish-475ish spring with a guide and a hop unit , barrel , it means that the sear and trigger will hold for a quite a bit right ? or am I too optimistic ? and also, if there is no possible mods or upgrades to the sear or trigger box, I wonder, did you opened up the trigger box ? is there anything that can be done to reinforce it ?
  18. I've only ever been abroad to Portugal and Australia, unless you count Dubai and Singapore whilst the plane was refuelling...? ANYWAY! I've managed to more or less fix mine, been playing around with it for about... 7 hours I think. Mags still aren't seating properly, but it's not filling the cylinder area with BBs and crushing them anymore, and it's actually firing as well. What I'd advise is NEVER slap the mags in, that's how I damaged my feeding tube (that holds the 25 bbs) and started all my annoying problems. The VSR parts that fit are the hop bucking and arm, pistons, springs and spring guides. The cylinder, cylinder head and trigger parts are proprietary as far as I know. We'll just have to wait for some trigger upgrades to come out, though PDI have made a cylinder set for it, but it's for 350fps set ups (so it's basically worthless). The barrel is an L96 cut though, so you can at least get a better barrel and hop for it. It's actually very consistent in terms of the fps right out of the box, so it might be alright with a new barrel and hop. Mine was appallingly bad out of the box though, got maybe 10 hits over 2 games with it, all from around 20m away and only 2 people took the hit. Then it broke. Now I've got an upgraded piston, spring and spring guide fitted it's actually doing alright, shooting with relative accuracy out to about 60 or so metres. Your measurements sound about right by the way, 25m - 120m sounds fair game with 550fps at your disposal. Also, sears are part of the trigger mech, they're basically the parts that lock the piston in the rear position and stop you being able to fully pull the bolt assembly out. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. I'm new to sniping too. As for worrying about the trigger, mine's still alright, there are signs of wear, but I don't think it's going to give out too soon. Maybe hold off ramping it up to 550 immediately though, I've got mine around 450 at the minute. I think that's everything you asked covered, let me know if I missed anything, or you need anything clarifying.
  19. Ive been to turkey (oludeniz) Not that its of any relevance to what you asked or anything....
  20. I'm not denying UKARA is an easy system, but it was put in place purely for the convenience of retailers as a fail-safe process, suggested by the HO and designed to stand up in court for retailers, however, as a private seller, I have every right to accept anything that I feel constitutes a legal defense, especially when we consider that at no point have we been promised that UKARA would stand up in court for a private seller, or that the people behind UKARA would even allow us to use it as evidence in court, so for example, if I can get email confirmation from the legal owner of a site that they believe someone to be a skirmisher, that is a viable alternative, which I feel comfortable would stand up in court and can assess the value of myself. And that's before we consider that there ARE some circumstances in which a legitimate skirmisher may struggle to get registered with UKARA (rare and unlikely, but possible). Now, I appreciate that someone may not be comfortable giving their word as it puts their head on the block so to speak but what I don't appreciate is being given a lecture about how UKARA is the only legal method and is written in law, by someone who has been running a site for under a year, is new to airsoft by my standards, has no legal training, didn't have anything to do with the creation and negotiation of airsoft under the VCRA and frankly is just a little bit pompous and rude.
  21. I've not got any myself but my friend had a great experience with them. Great comms, and replaced faulty stuff with no issues too. I'd happily buy off them if they had anything I wanted in a hurry.
  22. Mashed up a new loadout for a milsim down at Copehill Down. Wasn't really supposed to resemble anything in particular but when it's done it should look PMCish. I'm thinking black vest, OD trousers and a tan/black shirt. I know PMC's mainly use tan but it's not very useful in woodland.

    Classifieds Rules

The Law Your sale must be in compliance with Great British law, especially relevant; the VCRA, which has laid down various restrictions on the trade of Imitation Firearms (IF) and Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF). Remember, the seller is responsible for checking and verifying the legality of a sale. Please see the UK Law section of the forums if you need any guidance on this and open a topic if you're unsure. None of the below is legal advice. In short: As a seller you are liable for who you're selling to. No airsoft gun can be sold to someone under the age of 18 irrespective of whether it's 2-tone or a RIF (i.e. black/realistically coloured) As a seller you must take precautions to satisfy yourself that who you're selling to has a valid defence against prosecution for owning an airsoft gun - for the majority of cases this means the person you're selling to should be an airsoft skirmisher. Some things you can check are: Skirmishing site membership UKARA database membership Photographic proof that a member is a skirmisher (i.e. pictures of them playing) In the interests of protecting the right to play airsoft in the UK, please be diligent when coordinating your sale, ensuring you adhere to the points above. Be responsible and reasonable in your requests for information on another player - do not ask for more information than you require or would be happy to give yourself, but do satisfy yourself that who you're selling to is a legitimate player. Forum Specific Rules (action will be taken against your account for disregarding these) Failure to comply with the rules will result in you receiving a ‘Forum Warning’. Warnings start with the verbal kind and steadily increase in respect of seriousness/repeat offences right through to a ban and deletion of all posts and topics along with your user account. Find out more about ‘Forum Warnings’. All sales / trades must take place between two adults (i.e. over 18 years of age). All sales and swaps must use the sales template. Add additional information to let buyers know your trade preferences or location for collection. This will help sell your gun or gear as listing without pictures rarely sell. All sales must have an asking price. The price must be in UK Sterling £. All sales and swaps topics must have a picture, all pictures must be taken by the seller (adding a piece of paper with your forum name and date helps, but is not a rule). Do not use a retailers pictures - take your own. You must have access to the item that you're selling. You cannot be selling items that you do not own, are not able to post immediately or being sold on the behalf of someone else. You must include a picture of every item that you are selling. It is not acceptable to just show a box or use a stock images. Pictures must be visible in the listing (whilst we do allow links to other forums, simply placing a link instead of a picture is not permitted). Do not list the same item twice simultaneously. I.e. don't 'double list' an item. You cannot have an advert in both Sales and Swaps section for the same item, just select "For sale or swap" for advert type. Once your item(s) is/are definitely sold/you've found the item you're looking for (even if the sale happened elsewhere), please mark the advertisement as 'complete' by visiting the listing and clicking 'Set as Complete'. Second hand airsoft-relevant items only. No selling/swapping of any other items, this includes offering items such as consoles for trade. There are no exceptions to this rule. No sales of knives, real guns, airguns, or any item of any description that readily fires metal munitions, metal munitions themselves, or any other weapon of any type, aside from IFs and RIFs within the legal limits. The following limits are on all sales with no exceptions: <370ft/s for full auto systems with a .20g BB (1.3J is the legal maximum) <520ft/s for semi auto systems .20g BB (2.5J is the legal maximum) <520ft/s for single fire systems .20g BB (2.5J is the legal maximum) You must communicate with your buyer/seller once a transaction is initiated (i.e. ignoring their PMs or topics asking what's going on with a sale/purchase). If you complete a trade/sale of any kind via the forums, please leave feedback for the seller/buyer, this allows us to see who we can trust or who we need to keep an eye on. You may leave feedback by going here. Any suspicions about the item(s) or seller should be sent via PM to a Moderator. Use the "Report this advert" link at the bottom of the listing and include a message (this will flag an issue for Moderators to look at). Transaction Advice (action will not be taken against your account for disregarding these) When buying or trading, we recommend that you take down the following details of the other party: full name, address, telephone number, email, alternate telephone number (work or mobile). It is wise to check the address is legitimate and that the telephone number is answered by the person you are dealing with. We also recommend that you request a photo of the items with a piece of paper next to it with the sellers username and contact details written on. We recommend PayPal for online transactions due to their excellent buyer and seller protection. Bear in mind that methods such as cheque, postal order, bank transfer or other may not be protected and as a result of using them you may not be able to retrieve your losses should anything go wrong. If you are paying for goods via PayPal, please make sure your payment is labelled for goods/services. Sellers may ask you to label your payment as a gift to avoid PayPal fees. However, this will prevent you from being able to access any of the PayPal buyer protection services (i.e. if something goes wrong, your money cannot be refunded). Should sellers ask you to do this, it may be better to offer to pay the fees out of your own pocket instead. Parcelforce 48 will post RIFs if you declare the contents as an airsoft gun. We recommend them as a courier. Disputes Given the nature of trades on these forums, it's impossible for a Moderator to mediate a trade effectively without reading your personal messages (something they cannot do and will never be able to), but if you build up a reputation for being an unscrupulous buyer/seller and are non-communicative you may receive actions against your account. 24. I hardly know anything about sport and nothing about soaps or any electric valium culture...
  25. If its anything like a vsr's ed, it'll be a doddle. Nothing even to spring out and lose or anything as all parts are held in under the springs retention.
