i had a chat with a well known airsoft tech about L85s yesterday. G&G are known for locking up and ICS is supposedly the better brand but he recommends real sword for authenticity due to their habit of over-engineering and making their guns almost ounce for ounce similiar to the real thing. he reckons most of their guns are virtually indestructable due to the materials used so i am now divided between buying ICS or real sword (although i havent priced real swords version yet)
I have never even heard of a version made by Real Sword before. Cant find any info on one either on google...

I only have the Nijmegen badge for my brassard aside from my unit ones. I had to walk a bloody long way to get it. Also have medals for the Nijmegen marches, death march and Cosford.
James you will need to sow them on otherwise they will look bad.

It probably has the most safe safety going, its nigh on impossible to knock it out of position. As long as you remember your NSPs your fine.

On PC, I play:
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (no MP unless you mod)
You need to install Game Ranger these days to play Vanilla Battlefront 2. Biggest problem is hardly anyone plays it :/

That's a better description then what I have read on it so far Cant quite visualize it but once I have the rifle apart it will make sense I think

Dora makes Big Bertha look like a pea shooter

This is the 'bestest' gun as it is actually a gun. Call an L85 a gun in front of someone in the military and you are in for a world of ear ache. (Valuable life lesson I learnt in cadets )

Sounds like an interesting mod. The first link is not loading up :/ From what I can gather reading the second one it is a case of cutting a grove into the selector to stop the trigger going back to the second stage to activate the full auto.

I'm looking at the possibility of modding one of the Airsoft replica AUG's into an F88. I already have an A1 which looks wise is identical to the original F88 Austeyer's but I would like to possibly be able to create one of the later versions modified by Thales (not the current pro-types mind.)
The AUG A2s that are produced dont actually replicate any real steel rifles properly, however with a bit of work to the front receiver I cant see it being too difficult to turn into something like this:
My main worry though is that the rail seems to be quite high on the A2 compared to this. What are your guys thoughts?
Cheers
Ben

An M85 spring is too low for the L85, especially as it has quite a long cylinder. That will equate to about 260 on 0.2s. An M100 ought to give you around 330 on 0.2s, which is the BB weight all sites chrono on, so is what you really should be doing as well. That would then give you around the 300 FPS mark using 0.25s. An M110 would likely raise the FPA above 350 on 0.2s, so unless you play only at sites that have a higher limit I'd stick to an M100.
If you read the OP and the rest of the posts you will see why he tried an M85.

I wanted to buy a replica of Steyr Aug by GFC Guns.
The GFG29 A1 and GFG31 Para has the same price. I assume the gfg31 version is newer and somewhat better but it's version with a smaller innerbarrel length and gfg29 has a longer barrel and im mostly shooting in the forst. I know it's a changeable part but well it's an aditional cost.. Was anyone of you using these guns and can tell me the difference?
The para version has a shorter barrel, thats it. From my experience with a normal length Marui AUG it is short enough to use happily in the woods or CQB. In fact someone is selling an A2 by Marui in the trade forums which is probably going to be much more reliable then an rebrand which is all these are despite its age. If you really want the replica Tasco sight then stick with an A1 but if you want a bit of variety that might be worth checking out. If you want to be able add loads of attachments then really you need to be looking at the A3s by JG and ASG.

There is plenty of plastic on an L85 unless you get a DD Rail for it. Admittedly the body is metal though.

Lol. Me and a friend started building pretty much the same thing until the server closed down :/ never got to try it out in a proper fight .

I used to like factions, but you get giant cheaters using xray packs who ruin everything
I got accused of using an X-ray pack (I wasn't) on a factions server when I dug up someone's hidden trap and booby trapped it then re-disguised it all. He was not a happy bunny when I next came online at the same time as him

Seriously considering giving this Milsim business a go and trying this out. How easy is it to get to from the local station?
-
Does it have to be a shooter? My favourite first person game is Mount and Blade Warband but there's no guns involved unless you install an appropriate mod.

From what I have heard P90 High Cap just dont feed very well full stop. Mid caps might be a better option.

milspec does state that it doesn't fit the "HK416 (888)" but the WE 888 is the AEG version, so it could or might not, I would give them an email just to confirm.
I found that my L85 did seem to work pretty well in the dead of night (0oC) as long as I kept it to about one mag load per gas charge, about halfway through the 2nd load of BB's (1st gas charge) she started to die.
This was all on a bog standard L85, using normal WE mags, give airsoft-ed a PM though.
Thats good to know, I tend to top up everytime I reload the mag anyway so its not an issue there, Ill stick with normal mags then. I need to PM ed and see if he fancies fixing one of my mags anyway .
Dead thread....that ryhmes!!!
