  1. Guys just a quick, what's the deal with ares? I have noticed they are a real marmite brand, love or hate. I was just reading an article an the author states he doesn't like and refers to " the ares/star debacle". What happened and what's caused the split of opinion over the brand?

    Cheers

  2. Hi guys and girls.

I have been airsofting for just over a year now and loving it. I got into airsoft after suffering an injury whilst competing in my previous much loved sport. Anyway having always been into fitness dependant hobbies/ sports I was plesently surprised how much fitness plays a role in airsoft. I have recently started a fitness programme which has been designed to get me "fighting fit" for airsoft. I was wondering how many others do any sort of fitness to improve their airsoft experience. I honestly didn't appreciate how physical airsoft can be.

  3. Can I ask a question.... Hopefully not open a can of worms!! I have only ever done skirmish days but planning my first milsim "lite" in the new year. Is there a better attitude to taking hits in milsim? Or is it worst.. I can see it going either way.

  4. Well im slightly on the crusty side of things now aged at 33. I have no problems with kids in airsoft and will encourage mine when they are a bit older. My only issue is that kids should be taught to treat airsoft Guns with respect and act responsibly, no different than handling real firearms.

I must say I once witnessed a really awesome example of airsofters when I was new to it. A young lad maybe 14 was dropped off by his parents and sat in the safe zone alone looking very intimidated. I was about to invite him to join me and my mate when some of the experienced regulars stepped in. He spent the whole day with lads and went home with the biggest grin! It was awesome to see and they represented the sport so well. It really stuck with me as these lads where only 18 ish themselves and clearly didn't have do it. No kid is the same and in my opinion if they act maturely and play in the spirit then they are more than welcome. Plus they can do the running il provide cover fire from my seated position.

  5. Hello peeps,

I recently got hold of a cyma ak47s and I looking to upgrade some bits. It's as much about upgrading as it is me learning some of the tech side as I'm still very new. I was looking to upgrade/ replace the gearbox it currently has a cyma 02b full metal, I believe version 3. Is there any direct replacements you guys know of, I am also thinking of changing the barrel and hop up unit. Like I say I am very new to doing tech bits, so far I have learnt to string a number of swear words together as springs bounce around my kitchen!

Any advice would be great, be gentle!

  6. Gunman are also a fantastic bunch as well, their milsim lite are a good mix of milsim rules and skirmish play. The sandpit also have their battlesim, which is slightly closer to milsim than Gunman's milsim lite. There are so many different styles of play you will find plenty on the spectrum that falls between the 4 day epic that is/was available in wintery Norway and the 10 day coldwar milim run in the states, down to the Teir1 and Stirling (that from what I have heard seem to focus on physical endurance) to the gunman/sandpit milsims, down to the gunman milsim lite and ucap battlesim with skirmishing languishing way down on the scale.

Mate thanks for suggesting gunman, just what I'm looking for! Gonna book a few dates! Top work

  7. Ok so I was listening to my favourite Britney Spears playlist on Spotify when I found an airsoft playlist. My question if you guys could pick one song to airsoft to what would it be?

Mine, barbers adagio for strings ( que dramatic running and multiple hits in heroic platoon style).

  8. Good to hear your views guys. I won't mention the site as I feel it would be unfair to do so as I don't think the marshal on my last game was a true reflection of the sites values. But I saw a young player getting shouted at for a very small error of judgement , well when I say shouted at called an number of expletives in an extremely aggressive manor. I saw this lad get dropped of by his mother at the start of the day and he was polite and if anything shy. I truly think this lad would never go airsofting again if it hadn't been for a group of very experienced players then taking him under their wing...awesome to see! ( may even be members here, if so spot on lads!)

  9. Don't think the legislation on airsoft needs to change. It needs to be viewed in the correct light and what it's designed to do. In my opinion the ukara system is there to preserve the sport/hobby we all enjoy, in some countries rifs/airsoft are banned! That's not to say I don't think it has issues. Sadly, I fear like many things in this world it will be the idiots that destroy it for the rest of us and relaxing the laws will just make it easier for them. I have been around firearms for a number of years and be it shotguns, riffles or rifs they need controlling. I believe there could be a better system but I can't think of one......... (Remove soap box 😃)

  10. Ok not really airsoft based, but anyway! Just watched kajaki if you have not seen it take a look pretty amazing! Based on a true story about the paras out in afghanistan.. Brave lads. So out of all the war themed movies which ones do you guys and girls rate. ( gonna see how many I can make the wife sit through).

  11. Hey people, I'm still new to airsoft and still learning. One thing I have heard/read a lot about is people not calling their hits. I haven't been airsofting for long so have never experienced it! What's the view of the guys/girls who have been playing for a while? How common is it? And what do you think airsoft could do to stamp out cheating? Interested in your views!

  12. Very true Baz as it was an airsoft dedicated shop. I didnt purchase anything from him as I'm waiting for my ukara number and got my eye on a Rif from land warrior. Just thought it was an interesting point.

    Cheers

  13. Interestingly I visited a shop recently and spoke with the owner. He said he would be willing to sell a Rif to a person with a shotgun/firearms license. He stated ukara is a defence to protect retailers as much a players. He said if a person has a firearms license they have been vetted to a much higher level the ukara and as such he had no issues.

  14. Ok I have decided to buy a two tone as a starter and replace it once I'm on the register ( ukara). Soooooo colours.... I know it should be bright but some are insane.... Anyone got/had a two tone that was not too bright!! I don't really want to walk on the field and be as subtle as a fart in a fish tank!

    Cheers
