  1. 'Scuse my ignorance? CPC? Crye Precision Cam? Crye Plate Carrier? I'll be the first to confess to being a "Gear Whore"!! lol, I'm currently using a WAS DCS, for three reasons mainly, it seemed like good value, i wanted a PC in multicam and the Bulldog Tactical Assault Mk2 was always out of bl**dy stock! I'm very happy with what I have, its a good base platform and does the trick! Great idea for a thread btw, I do have a burning question, but perhaps more MilSim than SF.....
  2. Awwww bless!! lol, I'm guessing some kind of Molle Battle belt, with the addition of a lightweight yolk to take some of the weight, and its also thin enough to sit under a plate carrier or some form of vest/chest rig?
  3. Just got two complete PRC 343 personal role radios, with MTP pouches and wireless remote PTTs for £250 on ebay!! Whoop whoop!
  4. I think one thing that comes out from reading and following this thread is that if you want your pistol to be ready to draw, sit securely and comfortably and to be able to run around with it, you've got to get yourself at least a half decent holster or more likely shell out on something decent. I'm in the process, (as a result of this thread Damn you all!!!! lol) of updrading my rig. I've gone from HFC Glock 17 sitting in a fobus paddle type, hard plastic friction holster on my belt (to be honest, it could be slightly awkward to draw while wearing my PC) to a new IMI level 2 rigid holster, with an IMI adapter so it sits lower on my belt. I'm also trying to source a suitable and reasonably priced light/laser that will fit the holster, as my current one doesnt. And somehow i upgraded my HFC to a Marui Glock 17, Yes!!! I know! I'm weak and a slave to the mistress of airsoft! and, i'm not even in the country to use them at the mo!!! Doh!!!
  5. You mean the ones who got "badged" by watching Ronin?! lol
  6. Yep, tape it is, seen it done with the exact same problem a guy had on his WE L85 at Patrol Base. a bit of neatly cut tape and it fitted perfectly and looked great!
  7. Ah yes! The largest unit in the British Army is the team that was on the balcony at the Iranian Embassy! I've met hundreds of blokes who told me they were there!!! One thing I don't get is the link people make between airsofting and "Walting"?! "Walting" is passing yourself off as someone/something you're not nor have been in order to get some sort of gain, be it financial, a free beer, a better job, some totty or just kudos. Airsofting isn't any of that, we just run around and shoot the crap out of each other for the fun of it! Yes, it does involve fitness, (believe me, I know! and I do have to work on mine!!) skill and lightening quick reflexes, individually as well as team skills, tactics and the use of comms and such. Some of us like to dress the part to the nth degree and some don't, a bit like going down the pub or watching a footy game. There is a real rabid reaction to someone who is "walting" just because of a photo, without any context to it. I saw one recently on face book of some guy in MTPs and an SAS beret, stable belt and rank slide, people went radio rental!! Turns out he was modelling for a film/tv costume hire company. Doh! Now who's the doofus??!!
  8. Armysurpluss, cheers for starting this thread, looking on the positive side and reading all the replies on here, it reminds me why I'm on this site nearly every day, (even when I'm working abroad!) and why i love airsoft! On the negative side? Well yes, Arrse is exactly what it says on the tin! ARRSE!! I'm not even going to waste time commenting on them, bu they are NOT representative of any of our armed forces. I did my time, got my gongs, had a lot of fun, drank far too much and enjoy taking the p*ss as much s the next bloke, but one thing I do hate, and it doesn't matter where you're from, or what you do is bullies and that's exactly what they are and what they do. No time for em! in reply to a couple of posts here so far; "Why don't you buy a real gun?" A. It's illegal in this country B. If I shot the crap out of my mates with real guns I'd be a homocidal psycho - with no mates! I haven't actually met any Walts what so ever while airsofting, but I've met loads of the type on Arrse who are either Walts or "Bloaters". How do you convince a veteran that airsofting is a good thing? Let him have a go on your gun!! (no innuendos, please!!! lol). A mate of mine came round for a few beers, we served together years ago, he did his 12, I did the full whack, I was telling him I was getting in to airsoft and he thought I was some nut crazy wannabe! Anyway, after a couple of beers I brought out my baby, my WE H&K 416D, Eotech, x3 mag, peq laser, tracer unit and custom pain job and let him have a cabby in the back garden! Talk about hooked!!! I love this site guys and I love airsofting and long may we all continue to be open, honest, friendly, non judgmental and fun loving sportsmen who take our hits and do it simply for the fun. The field is a great leveller, I once got knife killed by a 16 year old with a rubber chicken!! It could have been worse, he could have been RAF Regt!!!
  9. So I may be working away in foreign climes, but it doesn't mean I'm not still on here, envious of everyone else having fun in the UK and also indulging in a little retail therapy, as a welcome home present to me, for when I get back!! http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk//tactical-tailor-removable-operator-pack-35000-5175-p.asp mmmmmmmmmm...............
  10. Round the back of the Mess old boy, just ring the bell and a jolly nice chap will bring you one along with a splendid cup of tea! Lol
  11. Awesome jon! Think you've just got your next joint christmas/easter/new year greetings card pic sorted!! love it!!!
  12. Hasta la vista to all my brothers in arms, heading off to Venezuela for a couple of months, have fun, play fair and enjoy! I'll have to get my airsoft fix on here!

      Cheers fellas

  13. Kiwi, cheers for the tips fella, great stuff, I'm getting myself kitted out to run on propane and to refill from a 20kg cylinder. The advice and tips on this site are top dollar!
  14. Very true Nickona, i saw quite a few guys in 3 Para using them in 06 in afghan and the viper and webtex kit is very cheap and very poor copies. Wouldn't buy either of their kit, it's just not up to it!
  15. With thanks to Mr Monkey Nuts, JCheeseright & NH Shooter, I've just ordered the following: Gun Gas Propane Adaptor Kit, Gas Can Compact Filling Device (courtesy of http://airsoft-innovations.com/en) and a propane refill tank adapter/coupler from ebay, cheaper longer lasting gas supplies here I come!! Cheers for the info guys!
  16. I'm 45, fairly new to all this, introduced my 12 year old to this, who loves it! Welcome Snakeeyes, and good on all us old fellas with our dodgy hammys and old stories! I love the mix of young and old in airsoft, the field is quite literally a great leveler and a fantastic place to get out, get some exercise and meet new people! As well as spend sh*t loads on awesome looking guns!! lol
  17. NH Sah!! you are truly a gentleman and a scholar! Genius!
  18. Interesting subject Deek, I'm sure sites have to provide a bare minimum of cover under health and safety legislation and as part of their public liability insurance. I would wager the quality of what you may actually get will vary greatly. I actually carry a small amount of medical equipment in my kit, just in case. We play a physical game in a challenging environment and accidents will happen, be it a minor bump or scrape or something a little more serious. As with any activity of this kind, some basic first aid skills for all are never a bad thing. There are some pretty good videos on you tube showing accidents and injuries in airsoft, that should make sobering viewing for us all.
  19. I see your point NH, straight from main bottle to mag, less fuss and hassel, but I like the option of being able to top up my mags with gas as and when, even mid game and having a smaller refillable can, could fulfill that need cheaply.
  20. Gleaming!!! That's excellent, thanks Monkey, i know you can buy propane adaptors in airsoft shops for filling gas mags, but where would you find an adaptor as in the vid fir decanting from large to small cylinders?
