  1. A very interesting and very emotive topic, for all who concerned, the UK uniform act is a slightly woolly piece of legislation, but the intent and spirit of it is designed to criminalise those who would seek to gain from the impersonation of someone entitled to wear a uniform. In the US, they have the "Stolen Valor" (American spelling, sorry!) Act which is specifically aimed at "Walts" passing themselves off as something they're not. Ours is a game/hobby/sport and is participated in by all of us for many different reasons but the aim of it all is fun. Simple. If you want to wear something because you have a link, either personally, or via a relative or organisation, fine. If you want to wear it because it looks cool, fine. If you try to pass yourself off as a steely eyed ninja SF super warrior and underwater knife fighting instructor from the 314th Mobile Mess tin repair unit (bath and laundry division) then don't be surprised if some people (ok, yes Me!!) fall about laughing! No one has ever accused me of trying to be a rock star or being Billy Joe Armstrong because I wear a green day t shirt! (and if you heard me sing, you'd know why!!).
  2. I normally wear the pistol slightly further to the rear, however the holster is a Fobus, designed for a pistol and laser/light, it doesn't draw upwards, but back and down. A little unnatural, but you soon get used to it. I also have a standard Fobus that is designed for an upward draw, and as you point out it does get in the way, but then I can always drop the utility pouches if I want to be uber high speed low drag. But I actually prefer always having the laser/light on there, I'd rather be looking at it than wishing for it!!
  3. well no body's perfect... Unless you're Blue/Red/Blue! Then you're pretty close!

I hate the semi auto limit sites enforce. Obviously I'm not for abusing someone at point blank with a full highcap, but a little common sense and being able to fire bursts wouldn't be a problem.

i think the rules were you could use full auto but in some rooms such as places where objectives were (very tight spaces usually) the marshals would let players know if they thought semi was necessary. Drum mags and mega highcaps werent allowed either.

And obviously no spawn camping, overkilling and cluster f*cking with full auto.....

  5. D Sqn HCR, served as part of 16 Air Assault from its formation in 1999 until the recent changes for Army 2020 http://www.paradata.org.uk/units/household-cavalry-regiment-hcr Honi Soit... Absent friends
  6. So here's my first load out completed! I know, no marks for originality, but I like MTP, didn't get to use it while I was serving and it's the same with the M4 platform, so here it is! Kinda inspired by SF type load outs, some of the stuff was pretty pricey, some was cheap, some was free or I already had! Hopefully won't need to spend any (much) more on this, it should keep me going for a while!! For those that are interested the plate carrier is a Warrior Assault System DCS and the helmet is an Emerson FAST PJ advanced type, my rifle is a WE Tech HK 416D GBBR with a few mods and a fair bit o' pimpin'!! All comments and banter gratefully received!
  7. There's Ambush Adventures in Southampton: http://www.globalairsoft.co.uk/?page_id=2382 It's a woodland site, i've not played there before, but I may give it a run out this Sunday. Don't know if UCAP have anything planned? (Can't access their site at work!! Doh!)
  8. Welcome aboard Jay! Another Noobie here, also based in Essex. I'm hoping to get to the Sandpit and to the Billericay site soon ans well as the UCAP Bunker on the south coast and a few others, if I can manage it! Good luck with your purchases! This is one of those hobbies where you keep finding excuses to buy more and more! and just when you think you've bought all you want? You find something you wan to upgrade!! I'm just getting to the stage of (hopefully) finishing my purchases, but I know that I will be a slave to the shop and being ex mil and a bit of a gear whore I just can't help myself!! lol I was lucky enough to be gifted a new GBBR from a very kind mate and since I've spent quite a bit pimping it, a couple of upgrades and also repairs to correct my own half arsed attempts at gun-smitherey!! But it's all good fun! I'm hoping to get to the UCAP Bunker this Wednesday night for a few hours of fun. Hopefully see you around some time!
  9. Fair one, that's probably ge reason you don't see it so often at skirmish sites!! Lol
  10. True, maybe on a night game or CQB with lower light, once the shooting stops!! Lol but, just like a suppressor, it looks very cool!! Lol
  11. On the subject of helmets, I've just ordered this http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/121368405158?cmd=VIDESC For my Emerson multicam FAST PJ helmet! Whoop whoop!
  12. Lovin' the gloves! You would have nailed it with multicam socks!!! Lol
  13. Ah naked airsoft!!! Sounds like the inter platoon shoot outs in Support Company lines circa 1991!! Lol
  14. Lawyer: Soldier I, why did you fire 13 rounds at Ms Farrell? Soldier I: She didn't call her hits M'lud!!! (what he actually said was because the Browning 9mm only holds 13 rounds! Inquest in to Operation Flavius).
  15. Love the oil drum test! I agree, every site should have them! And if they don't take their hit?? Keep on hittin'!!
  16. A very good point! Pistols with suppressors look uber cool! But how do you carry it as a back up? Can you get holsters that will take them? I had enough trouble finding a rigid holster to take a pistol with a laser/light on it!
  17. Mmmmm me likey! That's pretty darn Ninja!!
  18. The 16th? Sounds like a plan!! What time is kick off?!
  19. I guess one of the enduring problems for everyone is having a sling that can hold the weapon in a comfortable and secure position, out of the way, for when you transition rapidly to pistol? No doubt being done on the move when you've gone "Winchester" and it's quicker than trying to reload your primary! for me I think it's just a case of practise, pracitise, practise!!
  20. Too true, I'm sure it's a copy, but it does look the part and does the trick and with all my whistles and bells on my 416 comes in at about 5kg!! So far, it's holding up ok!
  21. Hello mate, I'm based in Essex but looking for sites all over the south, both mid week and weekend, let me know when you're planning a visit to a site, I'll gladly tag along for a run out!
  22. Welcome aboard Brother, hope your knee if back in the game soon with no lasting effects
  23. My apologies for coming late to this discussion, It's a Cav thing!! I've recently bought this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/TopOutdoor-Mission-Tactical-Airsoft-Adjustable/dp/B00E6L3H2W/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405072264&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=top+outdoor+tactical+sling It's cheap, good quality and even says Magpul on the label! (but I'm not sure it is?! The packaging and instructions are very convincing!) It can be worn as a single point, a dual point, under the shoulder covers of my plate carrier, as a stand alone and its very quick to transition between single and dual point. Whatever your preference, this seems to have it covered! I gave away my single point sling fairly soon after getting this, I'm very happy with it and having used the "issue tissue" sling for the SA80 for years, which is ok, this one is excellent and looks cool too!
  24. Many thanks, you gotta pimp your your mean and black death machine brother!! Its the only way to roll! Lol Noobie to airsoft, but have used weapons a wee bit, if you really want inspiration, check this out!!! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=An-nMlDeApI
