  1. Trust me - it ain't as bad as some of the crap I bought....i

if you got it for a good price s/hand then no biggy - it is still one of the few AK12's

at least it is worth keeping as a unique gun

    Yeah

I don't think I will ever show off my Bull$hit B500A1 - only way I would put that on a wall is if I threw it at it

  2. i would send it back if its not shooting semi as its designed as a cqb gun ,what good is it if not semi....it should do both

It does - now, but this time it is put back together a little better and shooting nearly twice as fast, and not such a joke DSG ROF

Yeah - after I ripped it to bits - no warranty and no rights coz manual says no semi.....

but got it working better with a semi via the Kong wizard fet

besides if she does crap out I'd swap the last lot of bearings around again, fit in the SHS DSG & cut off lever I have

(but won't bother to fit in a std FH or AK74 I was thinking of doing coz to me DSG is a bit over rated)

The review was to inform potential buyers of it not quite being what it is supposed to be plus the not so great quality

(though I reckon I had an early rough thrown together models - but still no semi)

Not first time G&G have tucked up FH owners - the first inital ones were Top Tech internals with a much higher rof

Hard to tell but if the FH in your sig has the normal CM grip on it then you have the slower std FH with bearings & a 30% slower 23.5:1 gear set

(all other CM's have a faster 18:1 gear set in there)

Are you sending your FH back ???

As said - after all the fun n games - DSG to me is way overated my AK12 was hitting nearly 25 on 18:1 gears & 7.4v full stroke piston

and that was/is a plastic gearbox using crappy SRC bits n bobs. double fires on more juice but 24.8rps is plenty for giggles

put together a higher speed gear set and 30+ can be obtained on 7.4v = 45ish on 11.1v for about £50

(buy hot gun with m120 - don't get spring downgraded, short stroke 2 teeth on say 13:1 set - neo motor/fet etc - good speed for most longer barrels)

  3. Hi - welcome to forum

AK12 and/or Well D12 in US, can't do much to it as flash hider is glued on and no usual counter clockwise or CCW 14mm thread at end of barrel

However Chock was the first to transform the AK12 with a proper gearbox in thereand

I've followed a while later - it is a nice change from the normaal AK's out there

std box is a bit crap, punching aprox 270fps on about 9 or 10rps

barrel is about 250mm but have fitted a 455 AK one in mine and tweaked it with a plastic - yes plastic box but better plastic box

the black viper AK12's and G36's are ok for plinking - they aren't as bad as the BV M4's

but you will struggle going up against others with slightly better ~ much better guns

It can be tweaked to perform better but still a little too light and reckon with too much heavy abuse she will crack or bust

Go easy with it, try not to run into any trees or fall ar$e over tip and she be ok but for longer regular use consider upgrading at some point

see this post for what is inside - mega kudos to Chock once again - hope he returns soon

    OOpppps forgot the bloomin' link

    http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/23635-first-ak12-in-production/?hl=ak12

  4. I said that before in an earlier post but sure the OP said he could disable it.

    http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/26328-we-scar-h-v2-gearbox-shell/#entry198279

But unless I got posts mixed up I am sure Merf 3.2 has braking enabled and can NOT be disabled

They do a new fet which can be enabled & disabled but doesn't have the programme features that the Merf3.2 has...

Unless I'm talking out my duck's ar$e again....

But sure I mention about AB but OP was going on about hot battery ????

Its hard to fathom out exactly what is meant let alone causes sometimes

But sure Merf 3.2 is always AB on from their own spec sheet but I haven't had one so can't say for 101% certain

  5. Shimming could be fine BUT

The bevel gear should have just a thinnest shim on top or no shim at all on top if bushings

Bearings maybe another thin shim but very little still required

If bevel gear is low the motor strains when engaging and when you wind motor in it pushes bevel harder against its top bushing/bearing creating in turn strain n heat

Your gears can be spinning lovely spaced nicely by hand

But when fitting motor that is where it goes pear shape

You may not hear much screeching of gears just a bit of strain but not screeching as such. But it will run very warm

I know coz I kept shimming bevel too low on my first few rebuilds and kept thinking wtf?

Only other thing is motor angle - again causing strain on pinion to bevel gear meshing, can pull a motor cage a smidge on v3's to get bettet mesh but not so easy to throw motor alignment on v2 pistol grip

Though another pistol grip may and I say "may" mesh a tiny bit better or worse if ya unlucky

  6. Did you open n mess with box ???

Sounds to me like possible bevel gear too low putting massive strain on motor

Also bad shimming nblittle grease is most likely

Should be getting more RPS on 11.1v with top motor like that smidge under 30 I reckon

  7. Agree the BOT looks nice and I'm hopeful that the fet issues of the past is behind them.

It is ideal for people seeking a mosfet'd gun out of box and even if it goes pear shape the donkey work of installing a fet is already done.

The Kong wizard is supposed to be a proper 3034 get which is regarded as best fet out there, so is fantastic get for £10 offer. Not sure if I'd pay full price for it but at tenner is a bargain not to be missed.

Bit of a git to get ya head round at first but stuff like a 3 round burst 3034 fet is std programmed in which is pretty cool indeed.

All the CM's are great guns, coz they have good engine/box in there, very TM compatible so spares upgrades are cheap n reasonably straight forward.

All a question of what tarted up externals you prefer

MK18 is slightly cheaper at Airsoft world and if you can fit the Kong in there yourself then that would be my choice but it has it faults like poxy lame crap mid cap mag etc...

Luckily there are numerous models of CM's to tempt the potential buyers, G&G certainly got the options/model/choice bit right spoilt for choice I guess if looking for a decent M4 starter at a good price that don't break the bank

  8. took son to Young Guns in Chobham once....

he couldn't believe they didn't chrono any gun and it was a bit nooby for him so not returned

Alas didn't get to or be bothered to wait around for the afternoon to shoot at the Mall's showcase day :(

mega shame coz really looking forward to a quick blast game and drove 60m there & slow crawl 60m back in poxy M25 car park traffic

  9. it is a HORRID green - zombie or puke green - it's absolutely disgusting

and to kill a sexy black/tan MK18 like that is even worse.

Zero One's 2-tone is ahem "replace-able" or more prone to removal from wear n tear so to speak and free

Airsoftworld though could do their own show instead of changing rooms - changing guns - nice paint jobs

(not too sure about more expensive "Wasteland" scheme but deffo not as wtf as SRC's Gundam - soz for repeat posting)

    http://www.evike.com/products/42979/

Now Mr Evike - are you seriously gonna ask for UKARA or try to charge me to repaint that mofo ???

Oh yeah coz it really does look like a RIF ffs

Seen meaner looking Nerf guns but suppose to some out there in anime cosplay world they gotta own it

so who am I to knock other people's interests - I play with toy guns ffs - how sad is that ???

  10. I think the old(?) ones look great but I dont have a clue about the technical side of it. i can't find anywhere that either does the starter package or sells it with two tone now.. :(

zero one 2-tone all guns 4 free

    also....

    http://airsoftzone.co.uk/airsoft-guns/starter-packs

but christ what have they done to my MK18 & FireHawk - yuuuuukkkkkk

airsoftworld's snakeskin is the sexy subtle alternative - well worth paying for that if I was starting out again

  11. I best let hpa owners answer the rest

Me I like tweaking n breaking n learning on aeg's as I think they are a clever bit of engineering - when it all works.

Probably could of bought loads of hpa stuff the amount of stuff I bought lately LOADS

But just feel to me it ain't the classic airsoft but more of a paintball conversion, but yes they do perform amazingly

  12. I saw your review on the Firehawk, I thought it would have performed better, as there was a lot of hype. But I don't know that much about weapons...

Would you consider P*ing any of the larger size guns, (say mid size)? Or is there a better platform to do it on, as I do like these new lines!

The FH got to nearly 41 on a 7.4v and just done a 416 to do 30+ on SSG on 7.4v - how long the last only time will tell....

As for PolarStar - think I like the Tippmann over that no battery, one day if Tippmann's come down to what their paintball guns sell at or if they make a cheap easy swap out kit for other guns I may look into that but sod paying silly money....

As for ROF I think 20 to 30 is more than enough and plenty response - sure it is nice to have a high cycle gun but unleashing hell in proper games is a bit nooby overkill I feel, about 25rps is quite easy to achieve on most aeg's without shortening its life too much.

Faster it fires then a good chance it will fail quicker is my main feeling and still some 12yr old kid with a JBBG 2 tone will take me out no doubt

  13. Honestly dunno, I'm old skool not got hpa setup so can't comment but one day I might jam a solenoid in an old box and make my own is what I might do.

Keep old box gears n tappet to load bb's, MAC solenoid, only stumbling block is gettingva "pattern controller" to control the burst or amount of time the valve is on etc...

Small picaxe or audinio raspberry pi board will do the job I reckon - quite do-able

But not exactly my cuppa mechanical tea atm, love the "fun" of cursing n swearing at the present AEG's

Just feel G&G might be trying to reinvent the wheel a little bit which the standard CM wheels are quite good as they are

  14. Not ultra impressed with some of the newer CM stuff...

    DSG FireHawk was dire

The 300 BOT - hmm £170 still polymer and their fet's not got best reputation....

The newer stuff like split gearbox, fully electronic, new pneumatic nozzle, plug in battery notor modules....

Owner is gonna be f*cked for upgrade options in quite a few of those areas

Believe it or not I love G&G CM's but think they might be shooting themselves in the foot if quality suffers and I think they are making it more complex that it likely will fail. More stuff to go wrong and screwed for usual choice or replacement parts.

That is my gut feeling, think they need to not be too ambitious and make gradual improvements ensuring the new stuff is as solid as the tried n tested old skool stuff

  15. Sorry to hear that - mega soz if I got on people's nerves

    I know I'm like Marmite....

But sorry you have reached a crossroads - if you don't get that enjoyment or buzz from something

then you are getting old or need to maybe throw yourself into something new perhaps ?

But glad you may still stick around - all that wisdom would be a waste to just pull out completely

I do hope you can get your mo-jo back and return to the field now n then at least

Hope you can get the bug again but wish you all the very best sir

  16. peel the rubber out - remove glazed unit

patio doors are worst - old ones could be prised up & off

if they wanna get in they will - move old banger and take Range Rover

Dog - pah they don't give a toss about poison a dog

but luckily most are just opportunity trying their luck and hope somebody left window/door unlocked etc....

I leave lights telly's on now after being done by a stupid mistake and opportunist got a few things but was disturbed

still $hits you up somebody been in ya house - bastids

  17. battery is very very low amps so it will never last long

charger is probably crap and the gun itself is a very low power cheap starter from a BB site

perhaps the wisest thing is to buy a smart charger @ about £10 which should charge battery quicker and safely not over charge it

charger will probably last longer than gun and so would be good if/when you upgrade to a better starter gun perhaps

checkout fleabay for a cheap airsoft smart charger - but be careful about buying bigger batteries unless you know they will fit

  18. I like to tweak/break guns and like to push them for $hits n giggles

Stateside they like to go way too fast 35+ even 45+ on SSG's

Me I regard 20 to 30 is more than fast enough so 25 is a comfortable max figure

but I tend to stay on 7.4v lipo which means 20 aprox

Nice to go nutz - son took the DSG FH & the 416 out for a blast and marshall actually used it to do a hit test on a couple of people - they called it

But generally low 20's on a 7.4v I feel is quick enough for rof & response

yes it will go @ 30+ but why use more ammo and higher juice eg: 2000mah 11.1v or say a 3000mah 7.4v aprox same size battery

hats off to bolt snipers - they have one shot and so have to ensure their gun is really sweet to make that shot count

plus they have to look at the great shot they just pulled being shrugged off and not taken

Think the higher rof peeps should be seen to use their guns for support suppress/covering fire rather than go head to head with stock or slower guns

but then the flip side is why should a higher rof gun be penalised - again its all about balance I guess

And no I don't think I would take the DSG out much more - apart from will it last for yonks it is still a badly put together gun, probably put in a less powerful motor in her and use that motor elsewhere to be honest coz 40+ is mental and I seriously think DSG's are overated

The 416 is beefed to 30 but have had problems getting her there - so yeah low 20's is deffo the preferred setup me thinks

wtf lets go out with a compressor and a vortex and just decimate everything in our paths

  19. For the price you can't go wrong. They'll work and that's all you need them to do. Plus you get three so obviously you can share them with your friends/ team to communicate a lot better without screaming at your teammates to "flank right" which the enemy also hear... I've seen it before and you end up with a handprint on your face and a bloody nose from face palming.

I do advise that you charge your phone though...

pmsl - didn't understand at first - wtf is this an app to convert headsets to iphone or something

Aaaaaaahhhh yes 4% yeah better charge ya fone

  20. Both are great guns

    I have a few 42W clear - similar to G&G Carbine and a "few" G&G's

ICS deffo seems a smidge quicker out of box rof

G&G - well they are the number one selling M4 starters

What G&G have done is made a load of different style M4's with/without rails etc....

So there is bound to be one that takes your fancy more my own favourite is MK18's for looks

the bargain GC16 30th is a major consideration - can mount some stuff on there coz they supply 3 mini bolt on rails to handguard

the handguard is much more sturdy than others M4 handguards

ICS do make other types of M4 with RIS but you normally have to go above £150

think their hop - like a G36 is a bit bespoke to ICS but take nothing away they are a nice gun with good build

all other parts are normal TM plus easier change of spring due to two piece box and spring release when storing gun

But for me personally I like the look/range of G&G's and they are a nice gun to work on

I haven't got around to ripping/tweaking my ICS yet so I can't say how they compare but think G&G use 8mm & ICS "may" use 7mm bush/bearings on mine

I chose G&G's coz of the range to chose from in the £150 range and my first was the FireHawk which I had to had to have as I fell in love straight away

since then I have been hooked on G&G but I still hold a lot of respect for ICS - always regard them as a very close 2nd to G&G

Maybe I might tweak and spray and swap some bits around and give my clear ICS a new lease of life over the summer

It really does deserve a bit more of my time - I have neglected her I will admit but was my choice over not so good SRC's until I got ukara'd

soz for waffle - me it is G&G Mk18 or GC16 30th - only coz of the good range of choice

I think the G&G plastic/polymer is a tad more robust than ICS plastic.

Think the G&G is a little more flexible which may stand up to knocks more where as the ICS seems to be the more harder and perhaps brittle in cold weather - PLEASE NOTE - this might be coz mine is in clear plastic and it might have to be the more harder plastic than flexible polymer

I do not own a black sportsline ICS so it would be unfair to say ICS receiver is not as good as G&G - just comparing my clear one to black G&G's

  21. Thing is the moment you start tinkering with hop-up's there is always a chance you can actually make it worse before you make it better

After have a nightmare on my 416 - 3 x hop units ok none of them hi end but jeez what mixed results I was getting.......

stock one max fps but feeding issues on higher speed full auto

new metal (cheapo) one tiny tiny drop if fps but nice feeding - would of ran with this but hop wasn't very effective

crappy plastic one - feed perfectly but quite a drop in fps.....

breifly explain - ShortStroke 2 teeth and was expecting to come down from hot 395fps TWG to about 350/360ish on stock spring

dunno but must of got seals bang on in box even doing AOE which loses a smidge - still getting 385 to 390 on stock hop :o

Metal one performed well feed & 360ish fps wise but not able to control a straight line like others - probably bad bucking or bad install

eventually improve the crappy plastic one from dropping to 270fps to about 340 - still not perfect flight on a 407mm tbb but decided to go with that for a game

My theory is there is a fine line as nozzle travels - probably this total travel may only be about 8 or 9mm - 6mm to feed a bb with a mm or two either side

to load and push bb & seal to hop in one smooth transition

The 3 hop units were different especially metal Vs stock hop and I also feel the total travel may not have say 9mm but more like 8mm

this is despite me shaving tappet to increase start/finish position of nozzle, ensuring and try a few different tappet plates to ensure it travels back as much as possible without bending up at the end too much as it hits the end of cam travel

one tappet when fully pulled back had a good 1 or 1.5mm slack - I could push nozzle further back home against head so 8mm travel was probably 7mm

way too little to feed n seal properly - more reopening of box again

refit best possible tappet I could find - also noted the tappet plates vary a bit - the one I'm using has the nozzle mount U "ridge" slight forward of tappet mount - where as shs tappet the nozzle ridge was further back and nozzle sat a smidge further back on the shs tappet plate

(possible better feed but not so great rammed home against bucking to seal)

Jeez what a f*cking nightmare and it seems to like mid-caps than high caps

Never experienced so much grief - they normally punched as expected or there abouts

and yes the red shs nozzle was same size or nigh on exact same size as stock nozzle fitted

so wasn't expecting to grind nozzle which I decided against as if too much removed I could be boned

Yeah I feel ya pain - the fps drop could be the nozzle not quite sealing 101% on the lip of the bucking

that is where you might be losing and not the gun/box itself

Yeah right pain in the ar$e I know
