  1. Depends on the platform, model and brand with airsoft guns but as a rule spring are the most reliable, electric rifles/gas pistols are next and then gas rifles/electric pistols last. Obviously using a spring gun will mean you're outgunned from the start but there are less mechanical parts to break compared to a gas or electric gun. Like I said though, depends on the brand and quality of the weapon. A Tokyo Marui gas blow back pistol is definitely more reliable than a Double Eagle spring sniper rifle even though it uses a more complex mechanism - the difference in quality with the materials, quality control and build is quite massive even if the pistol needs more regular maintenance.
  2. Not the sites, no. But I have been into the shop a couple of times when I've been up that area. Do want to have a go at their "FNG Training Room" based off the Call of Duty MW level - looks great fun! http://shop.tenburyguns.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=10331&product_id=9620
  3. Haha if that's the case then any of the Tokyo Marui Recoil range - you won't ever need to buy a new rifle as long as you give it a bit of tlc now and then
  4. Go to a few games first and rent your gun till you can get a UKARA defence sorted (minimum of three games in no less than two months). After that you'll have a basic idea for what sort of gun you want and will be able to buy a realistic looking gun (i.e. not two toned) unless you're under 18. If that's the case an adult/parent would have to acquire the UKARA by going to games with you then "gift" the gun to you - no money can change hands though. First purchases should always be some good sturdy boots and decent face protection, but being an expaintballer I'm guessing you have that sorted already. Basic decent guns list: M4: G&G Combat Machine http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_403_494&products_id=5645 ICS M4A1 Sportline http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/ics-plastic-m4a1-retractable-stock-airsoft-gun-aeg G36C: SRC G36C Gen. III http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_453&products_id=7030 AK47 / AKM / AK74: Any CYMA gun of this model newer than the .028 models - will need a spring downgrade though. Example - http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_489&products_id=6971 These are just a couple of the more commonly recommended rifles on a budget. You can get them cheaper than the websites I've listed - it's just I was too lazy to look anywhere else since I knew those sites had them. Obviously a higher budget means you'll have access to better guns but you'll be looking to spend at least £100 on a decent starter rifle. Another option is to browse our "Guns for sale" section of the forum where many a bargain can be had (like my Tokyo Marui High Cycle AUG for £150). Oh and welcome to the forum.
  5. Seconded, brilliant shop and they tend to have most of their stock in at all times unlike some of the bigger shops - why I used then as one of my links.
  6. I'm betting a spider was involved - it's gone now haha
  7. Forgot to take the unused primer out and put the safety on on my old impact grenade. Suffice to say I crapped myself when I dropped my gun bag on the kitchen counter haha
  8. Yay a shotgun thread! I love them so here's a list that may help you. Cheap as chips shotguns: ASG Franchi Tactical - £25 - 260 fps http://shop.tenburyguns.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=51_10167&product_id=9049 Had one myself as a backup gun. Great for CQB but is a single shot rifle. Very cheap but the shells it uses are quite crap - worth replacing with the ASG 30 round shells. Mossberg 590 (Full stock) - £37.99 - 270 fps http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/Mossberg-590-Full-Stock-Shotgun-BB-Gun_AZJSR.aspx#.U9KO9tm9LTo Single shot again, but my mate swears by it. Includes two 180 round magazines so it's brilliant for a lightweight back up. More pricey but vastly better shotguns: ASG Franchi SAS12 Shorty - £49.99 - 275 fps https://jdairsoft.net/secondary/shotgun/asg-franchi-sas12-shorty-3-shot Basic trishot shotgun. Louder than single shot rifles but a lot of fun to use. I've owned several incarnations of this weapon. Maruzen CA870 Sawn Off - £99.95 - 285 fps http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=269&products_id=1851 Pretty much a CQB sniper. I have one and it's my first choice for most skirmishes. Single shot but it's light pump means you can put a lot of rounds on target quickly. Built like a tank as well. These are all "budget shotguns" (i.e. under £100) but they're solid weapons as there are less mechanical parts to go wrong compared to gas shotguns. I didn't list the Double Eagle single shots since they can be very hit or miss weapons (even if they're cheap) but the ones listed I have owned, currently own or have used. Considering your request for "dirt cheap" guns I didn't include the G&P m870 range or other higher end guns. They also tend to be in the low 400s with fps. If you need a bit more help PM me.
  9. Had one with my cz75. Cracking holster for the price - secure and easy to use.
  10. Edit: Double posted by accident, oops!
  11. Cleaning rod, mat, silicone spray, leatherman/pen knife, allen key set, microfibre cloth, small multi-bit screwdriver, long handled screwdriver (350mm) that is compatable with the screwdriver bits and a cheap LED penlight. That lot tends to sit in a cheap wash bag at the bottom of my gun bag so goes to every game no matter what I'm running at the time.
  12. And the award for the forum post most likely to be taken out of context goes to...
  13. Which gun? Haha I'll just list my main three. 1. Tokyo Marui High Cycle AUG - 275-280 fps - 60m is the furthest I've ever shot it to hit someone. With the magic of a TM hop up I expect it could go further in perfect conditions. 2. Maruzen CA870 (Fixed Hop) - 290 fps - 55m depending on conditions, but accurate up to 43-45m. 3. ASG Franchi "Shorty" Trishot (Fixed Hop) - ~275 fps - Up to 40m but inconsistent. Edit: Added further clarification.
  14. Don't know if it's been posted but I NEED THIS!
  15. Same as adults in my opinion: they can be great or they be dicks. Just depends on the person really. Most of the younger players have been great: keen to get stuck in, willing to listen to advice and able to keep up with the pace. It's refreshing to have people on my team sometimes that can keep up with me (I'm quite quick) since let's face it: most of the adults who airsoft (not all) tend to be unfit/less inclined to run. That said I can see how kids with the "CODsofter" mindset would annoy most people (including myself) but thankfully I've only had to deal wih one incident like that - even then the kid was willing to listen to advice.
  16. Sorry for double post - iPhone had a little moment
  17. TRMR in Olive green because I've always wanted one for those "I really need a grenade" moments. £79.99 off JD Airsoft
  18. What did you do to the grip of the skorpion? Haha Off topic: Found the suppressor attachment for it cropzy if you want me to forward it on to you?
  19. Welcome to the forum mate
  20. TM GBB. One of the most fun to shoot guns I've come across
  21. I've amended my first post with details on UKARA mate. If you're unsure on whether to be a sniper then buy an mp5, mp7, skorpion vz61 or any other smaller sized smg platform that could easily be used as a secondary. Most airsoft rifles have near enough the same range so it's just aesthetics really, though obviously higher end brands will differ drastically from cheaper brands and longer barreled weapons will have an edge over shorter barreled ones. If you need any help looking then give a shout on here or feel free to PM me or anyone really. We're a friendly group so most of us would be happy to help
  22. Samurai pretty much said what I would have said on sniping (i.e. Don't bother if it's your first gun) so I won't add much onto that. If you do decide to go for the sniper role then all credit to you, but it is the least beginner friendly role on the airsoft field apart from "Knife only" loadouts Seriously in a 1v1 situation you will lose against practically any other weapon system (except knives) unless you get the drop on them due to a lower rate of fire and the fact that sniper rifles can be quite unwieldy as they're anywhere up to a metre long (sometimes bigger!). Additionally most sites have a minimum engagement distance that restricts how far away you have to be to use your sniper rifle so anyone within that will win a gun fight automatically unless you're very lucky and/or well concealed enough to draw your secondary first. But welcome to the forum anyway. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are plenty of guides on here and on other forums and it's worth getting a feel for the hobby before commiting yourself to a particular role UKARA is a database that you can register with to prove to retailers that you are a valid skirmisher and therefore have a suitable enough reason to purchase realistic imitation firearms (i.e. painted in realistic colours like black, chrome, tan, olive drab, etc.) instead of an imitation firearm (painted with 51% of the gun in a bright/transparent colour) which is the only other option available. This is in accordance with the Violent Crimes Reduction Act to stop people buying realistic looking airsoft guns with the intent to commit crime (hence the name). I'm over simplifying it (obviously) but that's what the general gist is. UKARA is by no means the only defence available but it is the easiest to acquire. Membership criteria: - Be 18 or older. - Have attended three or more skirmishes at a registered site in no less than 3 months - so you can't do all 3 "UKARA skirmishes" in less time to apply quicker. It's better to do your registration skirmishes at the same site as they will have a record of when you were there. You then get them to sign/stamp your registration form and send it to a registered shop on the UKARA database to process it for you.
  23. Samurai that looks beast! I don't often like AKs with rails but that thing is an exception
  24. I'm with the "Blind firing is bloody stupid" crowd. It's potentially very dangerous and shouldn't be implemented in airsoft due to that risk (thankfully most sites don't allow it). I don't go nuts when I see it happen, but I do make a point of informing a marshal.
