Thanks lads for all the help! I'll probably go and buy a 7.4V liPo battery to hopefully counteract the issue. Many thanks!

Ahhh you're in Sweden, sorry assumed you were in the UK.  Forget what I said about the fps issues.

What brand was the M120?  Was it stock?
What FPS / Joules were you getting with the M120?
Were you running it as a DMR? as a M120 should push you way over the legal limit

As @Terry_Rist said most likely the motor is spinning the gears too fast for the sp90 spring to cope.  Moving to a 7.4v battery should fix the issue but seems like you've perhaps got some fps issues.

Anyone remember if Arcturus short-stroke their gears on these cheaper end models?

Just that we assumed from your excellent English that you were in the UK with our 2.5J / 1.3J auto limits.

We have very different ideas on what constitutes "cheaper end"

No idea, they do claim to have short stroked 13:1 gear in other models, and a decent neodymium motor in the AT-NY06 so on 11.1V it could very well have prematurely engaged.

Alternatively it was just one of those freak incidents where the spring ended up fully compressed and the motor stalled out and couldn't pull it further - although with that motor and 11.1V that doesn't seem likely.

Are you running an 11.1v battery? If so it is most likely that you have run into premature engagement (look it up for a better explanation) but basically with a weak spring and a big battery/fast motor and gears, the piston doesn't reset fast enough so the gears catch on the piston rack part way down. If this isn't the case then it could realistically be pretty much anything that locked up the gearbox.

@Rogerborg Thanks, and yes making a loss.  However my postage fees are due to rise in the new year when I switch to more of a fully tracked system.  I might still keep the cheaper large letter sub £20 sub 100g rates, not made up my mind yet.

Airsoft is banned in China, has been for years, along with anything remotely associated it seems.  I've heard that banning of most gel blasters is on it's way as well.  Aliexpress is just slow at making sure it complies.

Companies like CYMA, E&C, JG, ZCI etc must have a special license.  You can still ship Airsoft gear out of HK since it's running on a "special status", 1 country 2 systems they call it.  That's due to stop in 2047, however every year Beijing seem to clamp down a little bit more.  2000 - 2010, HK stores were pretty dominate in the Airsoft world.

Seems that Aliexpress has banned all airsoft items!

That explains why there's bugger all decent gear to be had there now!

Not entirely sure how your kit sales have escalated to threats against you & your family (which obviously isn't acceptable) but then I don't know who you've been dealing with, nor the tone of of messages between you & your buyers.
I will also agree that yes, life is more important & does get in the way of airsoft......
    BUT
If you've got time to put sales threads up, give out your payment details & take the money, then you need to get the gear sent out in a prompt manner.
Edit: i should add that if "life", or more to the point, emergencies, do prevent you from getting stuff posted, you need to be 100% transparent about this & keep buyers in the loop.

You have two pieces of negative feedback. One from @DaktariT who has made a perfectly reasonable comment here, so I doubt you're referring to him.  The other is from @Tommo92who joined in August and who has had zero interaction with this forum other than with your advert, and is vanishingly unlikely to be reading this.

Perhaps having a generalised rant about this whole forum based on one person who is only tenuously a member might not be the best way to win friends and influence people.

Freight shipping costs from China are indeed back to where they were before Covid or even below.  Shipping companies (as in the people who run the ships rather than shipping agents) are reducing the number of voyages in an attempt to prevent their income collapsing completely by.  With many factories in China closed because of the constant lockdowns and a slump in demand, there is more shipping capacity than is needed.

However, with Winnie the Pooh now secure in his third term in office, it seems that the lockdown policy in China is easing, so more product might be available soon.

    What @ak2m4 said.

I work in shipping and can confirm that import rates from China have returned to their normal levels after going as high as 10x more.

The real problem with our sport and shipping, in regards to China, is that the majority of Airsoft products can only be shipped out of HK.  Some products can be flown out via FedEx or UPS but anything remotely gun shaped or gun related must be shipped via a boat.  The smallest size you can get from HK port is a pallet (1cbm).  So if you just wanted a few boxes of parts you have to pay for a full pallet.  In general it's an absolute nightmare.

I don't think that's quite right, before covid a pallet from China cost around £450, then went to around £600 and now back down to around the same as before.   Are you sure it was for a pallet and not a 20ft container?  Every day I get messages from Chinese freight agents all fighting each other for business and dropping their prices on a weekly basis.

There's a clear difference though between the pricing of sea freight and domestic (Royal Mail) shipping.  In fact in the past 6 months RM have reduced the price of small parcels.  Currently £3.95 for Tracked 24 (1st class) for 2kg parcel, fully tracked, email and text message with photo.
