  1. Might just give it a go with one of the cheap ones as they have the rail underneath as well, didn't realise but the stock sight is attached via a grub screw underneath the sling mount. So it should connect in the same way. Annoyingly these all come from China so I'm going to have to wait a couple of weeks before finding out if it works or not.
  2. I don't think it should have any effect on the handguard, the bit which holds it on at the front is the metal 'cap', which is attached to the front sight via the gas tube (as far as I can tell!). In theory by replacing the front sight with another gas block the plate should sit in the same place without a problem...maybe. Edit: had a look at the exploded view on http://www.greekairsoft.gr/manuals/manual.asp?Manufacturer=KING+ARMS&Filename=King+Arms+Magpul+PTS+MOE+Manual.pdf does look to be that way. My main problem with that ebay gas block is how it tightens on to the barrel, kind of looks like it's just a grub screw which bites into the barrel. If so, nuts to that.
  3. I'm wanting to swap out the stock front sight on one of these.. ..with a railed gas block so I can stick something like another mbus on the front. Found this on ye olde ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/75-Cal-223-5-56-Low-Profile-Gas-Block-Top-Bottom-Picatiiny-Rail-For-Rifle-/291259383836?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item43d069801c which is considerably cheaper then the alternatives, would this do the trick? Or should I just spend the extra on something like the madbull one? http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/madbull-top-rail-gas-block-for-m4-m16-series.html On the same topic, how do they actually stay in place? I get that the gas tube sticks in the back but how does it stop it from moving around? My knowledge of M4 customizing is less then rubbish, any help would be appreciated.
  4. Thinking of adding connectors to a front wired M4 to split off the battery connector (to save resoldering when dissasembling), do people use spades for this or is there another type I've not seen?

Yeah, get some small spade connectors and some heat shrink

Some people use bullet connectors, they are a little more robust than spades

Ah bullet ones look pretty good, thanks for the help guys!

Will save me melting more XT60's, my soldering iron is a bit big for doing battery connectors..

  5. No it's only a few mm shorter, not enough for the cylinder to be a problem. I'll take it apart again tomorrow and have a look at the rubber, I did check it was aligned and the hop was going on + off properly before putting everything back together but maybe it's shifted somehow.
  6. Did it improve the performance by that much compared to green gas? I've got the same pistol (KSC G19) so wondering if it's worth having a go with propane as I've not been very impressed with mine so far.
  7. So I've gone and put a madbull 6.03 tightbore and G&G green rubber in my King Arms M4, but now the compression appears to be total crap. I've not got a chrono to accurately test the actual fps but when firing it seems to be well down, at a guess around the 200 mark. Anyone have an idea as to why this could be? From what I can tell nothing's out of place and I've not touched the gearbox.
  8. Not seen those before but kind of like the look of them, tempted to give them a go.
  9. http://www.componentshop.co.uk/7-4v-2200mah-35c-continuous-discharge-lipo-battery.html Size should be about the same, if not a little smaller. Fits in my M4's PTS grip fairly easily. Also in regards to G&G midcaps, from what I've heard they're not great. They use an elongated feeding nub which has a habit of breaking. Better off getting MAG midcaps if you don't mind them being plastic, I've also used CYMA metal midcaps which so far haven't had any problems. Got some King Arms plastic mids as well but they do occasionally jam up.
  10. Just had a play around on one of the sites which stocked it, there was a bit next to the guard stating it was ITAR and only available within the US. But on the other hand Midway UK stocks one of them, so who knows! I'll keep looking. Unfortunately they only do the standard one and not the SL. Pretty funny how on the magpul site it's only $25, which apparently translates to £39 over here.
  11. So I was wondering if it's legal and if so, possible to import magpul RS hand guards, such as: http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG538/62 Although having pasting that link think I might have answered my own question after noticing the ITAR bit, but then why is it illegal to import/export something which is essentially the same as a PTS guard? Keep forgetting how daft some laws are..
  12. Have you found somewhere that sells KSC nozzle springs? I managed to bugger up one of mine as well, so it's on my list of things to replace on my g19. Bloody thing's got similar problems with venting.
  13. Anyone have experience with the king arms SIG 556 shorty?

  14. CB500F, not got a picture of mine as I'm lazy
  15. I've got an a5, the battery storage space is a massive pain in the arse. Removed the fuse just to make it a bit easier but it's still awkward as hell.
  16. If you decide to buy a protector for it (which is probably a good idea) then go for the flashkill type rather then the plastic lens cover. I've had two of the plastic ones and they were both shit, badly warps whatever you're looking at, the metal mesh flash kill however is rather nice.
  17. Only partly inspired by, the original anti-scientology protests and raids were started by 4chan, due to the media attention this received it was taken up by those with political motivations, anarchists and people who think it's mad edgy.
  18. Anonymous originally was none of those things. It stems from 4chan where posting without a name tags the user as anonymous. They spent their time trolling places like habbohotel, finding dox on animal abusers and reporting them to the police, phoning up gamestop and asking for battletoads, raiding forums/messageboards and blaming it on ebaumsworld as well as all kinds of other amusing crap. The whole v mask bullshit only really started after the Scientology protests. Some people watched that film one too many times.
  19. I remember back in the day when Anonymous was nothing like its current form and only ever did something if they found it hilarious (for the lulz). Ever since the scientology shenanigans it gained popularity with people with political agendas, and now tries to act like some kind of sinister internet army.
  20. Cant imagine that's too good for the longevity of the gun! Really wouldn't want to be submerging a lipo either, think it would fizzle a bit.
  21. Not riding motorbikes in the rain?!?! What madness is this, biking is for all weather! Except high winds, snow, ice, being too cold, being too hot or just when I feel like driving...
  22. Best bet might be to find someone who's selling a broken one and scavenge bits off it, I think you'll have real difficulties finding that sort of thing for sale new.
  23. Don't see the appeal of 11.1v's, if you've got a reasonably accurate gun all it means is you hit the person twice as many times. 7.4v's plenty good.
  24. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/cm-040d-cm?from=listing&campaign-id=19 Sure it's from Poland, but you dont have to pay vat so it's still dirt cheap for what you're getting.
  25. They're most definitely not 11.1v lipo ready, chap at my local site was running his on one, lasted 2 skirmishes before stripping the piston. Think he had a couple of problems with feeding, but other then that it was alrite from what I can remember. Pretty compact even for a bullpup which was nice, much skinnier then my fn2000.
