  1. Looks like they don't stock aeg's in the UK, they all get sent over from HK. Shame, full metal king arms 556 for £150, crazy cheap.
  2. Or you could get King Arms midcaps, plastic ones are a similar price to MAG's I think, and the ones I've got seem pretty decent. All feed nicely.
  3. By no CM's I meant combat machines, forgot that CM is also the abbreviation for CYMA! Shotguns do look pretty entertaining but in the event of my primary failing I'd hate to be stuck trying to do woodland with a pump action. I think it's between one of the MP5K's and a CYMA at the moment, TM MP5K would be pretty nice, bit more then I'm wanting to pay for a backup though. Love the look of the CM.045c, only thing that is a bit of a downer is that they all seem to use crappy stick batteries. Also not sure how good the construction is, I know they use quite a lot of pot metal in their guns, dunno if this is one of them.
  4. One of the guys from my local site has an SLR with wooden furniture taken from a real steel. From what I can remember he had to modify it quite a bit to fit his AEG. If you've not found a better answer by the time I'm back from holiday I'll ask him and try to find out what he did to get it working.
  5. Is their MP5k any good? I thought the general consensus was to avoid anything CYMA which wasn't a high number AK or an M14. The AEP's look fun and all, but would like something which could function as a replacement rifle in-case of primary failure, doubt they've got the range for that. Same problem with tri-shots.
  6. So I'm considering my options for a backup AEG which will possibly be used as a CQB primary as well (semi-auto only for this), but don't really want to spend too much more then ~£150 as it will get relatively light use. Anyone got a recommendation for a relatively cheap preferably non-AR15 platform AEG? That means no CM's! Also I'm not so keen on guns which use completely the wrong materials for parts, eg plastic receiver which should be metal or fake wood etc. Bonus points if it will take a mini-type battery. Quite like the look of the CM045 http://www.taiwangun.com/en/cm-045c-cm?from=listing&campaign-id=19 no idea if it's one of the better CYMA's or not though.
  7. Was in my local sites shop today and noticed they had something which might be what you're after. Not sure if it's the same model but it was very similar to this: http://www.helmetworld.co.uk/airsoft-black-mask-neoprene-hard-foam-ghost-recon-half-face-aeg-uk-delivery-29408-p.asp There's a cordura mask as well, not sure how good protection would be though. http://www.helmetworld.co.uk/airsoft-aor2-camo-woodland-digital-cordura-half-face-mask-aeg-uk-delivery-30013-p.asp
  8. Scope is pretty good, mine was originally the hunter version. Got the top rail + front sight for the standard version direct from G&G, ParcelForce screwed me as hard as they could though so it cost about £45 once charges were paid..
  9. Well, damn. It would appear that the F2000 has vanished from the places which had it in stock since I last looked. Zeroone has them listed but they've not been in stock there for a while. Another one worth considering which you're unlikely to ever see at a skirmish is the AK5C - http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_403_497&products_id=8505 Pretty cool Swedish rifle based on the FNC.
  10. The little white connector is the balance lead, that tells the charger what voltages the cells are at. Before you even think of charging anything, read the manual which comes with the Turnigy charger, it's not perfect but will give you a good idea of what to do. Then read this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209187 You'll want to charge that battery at 2.6A, you could most likely charge it at more then that, but at that level it will last the longest (and be safer). When it is finished charging it will be at 8.4v, if it is a 7.4v LiPO. Oh and personally I always charge on the balance setting, it's a bit slower but if you're not in a rush it's the best way to do it.
  11. F2000? The G&G SCAR-L is quite nice as well, really lightweight.
  12. Just passed my mod2 so now a fully qualified motorcyclist! Any other bikers around here?

I have enjoyed my YBR125, but looking forward to getting my first 'big' bike. So far it's between the MT-07 and the CB500F.

Had a bike, but still ride when not in the UK

  13. In terms of protection that would probably work quite well, you would look a bit like Hannibal Lector though.
  14. lolwutm8, I'd be very interested to see testing in comparison to 'regular' sniper weight bb's, bet the difference will be minimal at best. Got to love the claim that they're re-usable, imagining all these snipers rummaging around in the dirt looking for their precious bb's which probably have a higher price/weight then gold... (edit: I take it back, 0.66g of gold is about £17, but still )
  15. I've heard bad things about those neoprene lower face masks, supposedly they do jack shit to protect your teeth. Loads of people swear by shemagh so that may be a better option, not tried it myself though as they seem like a pain compared to ye olde standard mesh mask.
  16. If you want to try it, give it a go. Having said that though I cant think of a single situation where having a green face would've stopped me from spotting someone. Not to mention that wearing that stuff all day would be bloody grim.
  17. I spend most of my working day fixing laptops, you get used to looking out for the simple things
  18. Is the battery charging light on whilst plugged in? If it does turn on, are you able to get into BIOS/UEFI?
  19. But was that the G&G version? I've not heard of any issues with their internals other then semi-auto needing a slight modification on older models, gearbox internals are otherwise very good.
  20. There was a cheaper version, cant remember if it was JG or not but as far as I know it's been out of production for quite some time (and supposedly a bit naff). Mag changes aren't a problem as you just hit the release and it falls into your hand, pouches for them are more of a pain but I padded mine out with some old socks which sorted that out . I've seen a few pics of F2000's with suppressors and they do look very cool, I'm trying to decide on which one to get at the moment. Supposedly you can also use the clip on SCAR types with the stock flash hider, not had a chance to test this though.
  21. It's funny you should say that... It was originally the hunter version but I brought the standard rail from G&G, rail itself was pretty cheap, parcel-force were not. Lens protector made from a £2 kitchen sieve, looks messy there but you cant see the tape when it's installed!
  22. Thanks! Wasn't sure how well they'd work as I couldn't find a picture of anyone else who'd tried it, quite pleased with the way they look though, keeps the gun a tad more streamlined.
  23. VN Mags might not have a massive capacity, love em for CQB though. Strap was butchered from various places, might get a proper one if they ever become easily available. Kind of want a suppressor as well, not really sure what to go for though.
  24. Hello, trying to think of who has a 552 at '39!
  25. I've used them on some bloody humid days and not had a problem with sweat steaming them up, as long as you're out in the open even the slightest bit of air movement seems to keep them clear. I don't tend to get too sweaty though so you might not have quite as good an experience with them! They also come with 3 different lens types which is fair handy and have the option of a glasses prescription insert, although I imagine this would make steaming up more of a problem.
