try to avoid retailers with "BB" in their names - they sell mainly very low end stuff to kids & noobs
fine for backyard plinking but not so good for taking to a skirmish site and going up against much better guns
 
please have a look and read up on the sticky's - do not just rush out and buy the first gun you like the look of
 
what gun did you use/hire M4 G36 AK or whatever and did you get on with it ok ???
 
give it plenty of thought before you buy anything and please ask
too many people buy snipers and find it ain't for them or buy a pistol but hardly ever use it
usually beginners should consider all options and perhaps get a decent starter rifle

Hi looking for some advice on where the best place to purchase guns, and best sites or airsoft company's in Kent. Played for the first time at the weekend in bolton. Absolutely loved it and looking to get ally more into it. All advice is greatly appearicated.

Best-case solution would be a Judge Dread dna-trigger-lock that blows your arm off if you're not the owner, but UV def good idea.
 
Hope the thieving fukers OD, and their dealer is dumb enough to try sell the guns online!
 
Definitely worth asking local gun/fishing shops if they've had any related enquiries, a friend of mine had his air-rifle nicked and they ended up catching the thief after my mate phoned round local gun shops and found one that had had a grey-eye'd junkie ask them about value/how to sell a gun of his make/model. CCTV footage from the shop showed the guy and the cops were very familiar with who it was.
 
Unfortunately this kind of investigation has to be done yourself, and if you do get a 'lead' it'll take a painfully long phone-call to the cops to get them to act on it.

Hi guys sad to say all my gear was stolen out my van yesterday. Its taken me 2/3 years to perfect my loadout and was all taken. If anyone see's a KWA RIS or WE on forums in the Kent area please let me know. Alot of the stuff eg Kit was priceless to me as ive had it all tailored and customized and its resell value is worthless. Im totaly gutted and to be honest its not really sunk in 100%.

Sure you C3 lads would put on a good event as well, we all met at Longmoor, hope you lads are coming back to help us again.

That looks amazing. G & G are trying to take it to the next limit. I had a top tech was a really well made gun.
Only thing is it justb looks like more stuff that can go wrong.

Airborne Airsoft is in Hampshire. Longmoor site is amazing. Not sure on age limit.

Hi guys and gals
 
just thought I'd share this with you all. So this weekend I installed in my A&K SVD a G hop modification. Its basically the same as your standard R Hop but using an old hop bucking to create the patch.
 
Well I can say I'm impressed. It hasn't increased my range that much but my accuracy has gone through the roof. I am hitting consistently a coke can sized target at 40m every single time. My overall effective range for a man size target with my SVD is approx 70-80m

R hop does add range, as well as accuracy. The patch is longer and hugs the BB a lot more evenly, so its in contact with the shot for longer, and due to the curved nature of the contact piece, it keeps the shot centred far better so the performance is far more repeatable.

Standard hop acts as a brake on one side of the BB. The more hop you apply, the more the top of the BB gets slowed down. The bottom of the BB doesn't get slowed down because there's no brake acting on it, so more hop = faster spin.

Obviously if you spin too fast the hop sends the shots upwards, and spin too slow and the shots go down.

R hop allows you to impart the same level of spin without applying as much of a brake to the shot, because the contact patch is longer. This means that the spin lasts for longer, and since the spin lasts longer, the BB can fight gravity for longer = more range. Then the added accuracy comes from the centralising effect of the curve of the contact patch.

Ello, my first post so please be gentle
my name is Steve, i am 41 and live in south essex. i have recently been given a box of airsoft/bb guns from my cousin he was clearing out when he moved.
i have acquired a handful of spring pistols, 2 of them are really cheap and nasty one of them seems ok and is quite accurate. also in the box was a cheap pump action shotgun and and AK47 springer replica that is really bad, along with a black viper g36c thats ok ish and a umarex g36c sportline that i am quite enjoying.
i used to shoot a lot when i was younger in the air cadets, and have air rifles on and off over the years but mucking about with these guns in the garden has sparked my shooting bug off again so thought i might delve into the world of airsoft as well as back garden plinking.
i hope i wont annoy you too much with my silly questions, but look forward to modding my toys as much as possible, i am a tinkerer already have some ideas for my g36c, the kids can have the black viper one.

Sinister 616 are starting a new campaign on the 21st of Feb at Longmoor. We are now The Peoples Free Army. Vendetta.
 
The team is made up of ex Special forces, rouge soldiers and people that have had enough of how the Government.
 
Were on the look out to help us build this 50 strong team. We need individuals and teams.
Id like to build a brotherhood and all meet the night before for BBQ and start planning.
These Milsims are run amazing and the longmoor site is epic.
 
Our team can wear anything other then Multicam. (were against the US Navy Seal wanabees.)
 
This will run every 3 months and the planning that goes into it will be amazing.

I'd be interested for sure but it's a long way from Nottingham and I'm not exactly the most physically fit potential team member so I'm not really in a position to commit to something as early as Feb 2015. But if you keep this thread updated* then I may be able to get along to a game in the summer. Making the MC/MTP brigade hurt is what I'm all about in game
