  1. I used to use fineline tape or Tamiya model tape to stope edge bleed. That said, I was using an airbrush and lower pressures than a rattle can will achieve. Frog tape is fine for decorating but for crisp lines on hard surfaces with very thing paints (like aerosols) they're too crepey and the thickness of the tape itself leaves an upstanding edge you have to sand back.
  2. Is this the kind of thing you're looking for? https://boomarms.com/products/guarder-steel-mainspring-housing-for-tm-m1911-meu-l-a-vickers https://www.wgcshop.com/en-kr/products/aip-1911-magwell-for-marui-1911-meu-gbb-airsoft
  3. You don't need that much space, just be creative! As MK18s go, these are pretty decent: https://jdairsoft.net/primary/assault/0/daniel-defense-mk18-sa-e19-edge-carbine-chaos-bronze My neighbour has one and it's performing quite nicely.
  4. Call yourself an airsofter? Where's your sense of adventure? 😁 That said, I've not used either of those specific guns but generally the Ares seems to be the one gun they make that people don't absolutely hate working on. The Specna should be fine too (I have an older SA-A03). As others have said if you want a REALLY short thing then have a look at the Firehawk/ARP etc from G&G but it all depends on what your budget is. Personally I'd go for a MK18 style but that's just my passionate hatred for anything with a 2" barrel (other than the MP5k of course). The other option to make transport easier would be to split the upper and lower for transport which will immediately make the whole thing shorter and easier to carry.
  5. Suffice to say that nothing in this thread has persuaded me to move away from a butt load of paper pyro. Apart from anything else I do so love showing myself up as the arthritic mess I am by attempting to yeet a bang at the enemy only for it to fall pathetically short and blow me up instead. Good times.
  6. Same here. They're terrible cunts, aren't they?
  7. True, but how many did they actually sell compared to all the M4/AK/MP5 models they churn out?
  8. Cool, I'll ping you a total by DM. Also - I've tidied my desk, it's usually worse than that!
  9. I'm starting to get that impression! I need to dig the masks out of some drawers in the garage but there's two rolls of the film: The AeroPro stuff (with the blue squares on the backing paper) is slightly thinner and more flexible, the grey sign mask is a bit more durable. They're quite chunky so I'd have to work out postage but £10 for the AeroPro, £20 for the grey (plus post).
  10. Somewhat late to this party but if anyone is interested in it, I have a roll of low tack masking film and some freehand masks left from my days as a custom painter that I don't need anymore. Sensible offers will secure it! For anyone that's interested in the process it's worth looking into things like a Craft Robo cutter (if they still make them) or something similar. They're fairly cheap, link to a PC and can cut pretty much anything down to about 6pt lettering!
  11. Really? It's a niche market in the west, why would a Chinese company think they're a good idea?
  12. Surely that would affect the spring compression though?
  13. Sounds like standard internet bollocks to me. Like polishing the mains plug on your hifi!
  14. You'll be fine, they're very good springs! Also (absolutely no disrespect to @Leo Greer) some of the parts that have been recommended by Leo are easier to get hold of in the US. Doesn't mean the parts you can get here/via HK aren't going to be just as decent.
  15. They're actually quite well padded on the sides (I have one like that).
  16. I mean...it's IN the name! WD...Water Dispersant. It's NOT a lubricant! Dear BBC, WHY, OH WHY, OH WHY?????? Tell me you've never smelled a can of GT85 without telling me you've never smelled a can of GT85
  17. I can see where you're coming from but the number of times I've been pwned by a rental would tell me it's not all pay to win!
  18. From UK law.co.uk: What is negligent first aid? Negligent first refers to cases where this type of treatment is given in a manner that is below acceptable standards or harmful. Can first aiders be held liable? If you have suffered preventable harm because you were administered first aid that you think was negligent call our advisors who will assess your case for free. Not case law example but it would appear that there is potential for a negligence claim.
  19. Does SIA even cover first aid? I wouldn't trust half the doormen I know to put on a Band Aid let alone anything more serious!
  20. I have a travel FA kit in the boot of my car with all the usual stuff but the point is (as alluded to by others), unless you are trained and indeed certified, while most people would be happy to accept basic assistance the site should have nominated, trained and most importantly, insured First Aiders on site. If you render aid and something does go wrong then not only are you potentially opening the site up to a liability claim, you also open yourself to one. I know we don't live in quite the litigious society that exists in the US but it DOES happen.
