  1. Welcome! I'll be at The Mall on Sunday.

    New AEG

Really? You can't find anything better than ANOTHER CM16 with £350 to spend?
  3. Hmmmm...what do I want...what do I want? P90 (probably the G&G with the adjustable spring) G3 (the Classic Army M41 ES with collapsible stock) Vz58 carbine (then the tactical kit) Krytac CRB Krytac LMG Enhanced MK46 (or maybe all the bits to convert my M249 instead) Mk20 SSR SCAR H GBBR GHK AKS-74U the list goes on.....and on....and on....
  4. Let us know how you get on but I'm pretty sure the one you want is the bath oil.
  5. There are, as with all things, some lemons in every batch. The G&G M14 is not a direct copy of the TM one particularly in the hop unit. Not sure that Prowin actually do a hop up for the G&G/Classic Army design M14 but Lonex do. It may even be as simple as replacing it with a new G&G hop unit if yours is just badly made.
  6. *wit (trots off on his allegedly high but most probably average sized horse)
  7. Good thinking! I've been wearing my Endura Humvee 3/4 MTB shirt for airsofting recently. It wicks well and because it's got a longer back it covers the old cleavage better when you're bending down!
  8. I like good kit. But it doesn't all have to be super gucci to float my boat. I LOVE guns but I've never wanted to get shot at for a living (fair play to anyone that does but it's just not for me). All that combines to mean that while I can be a bit of a gear whore I'm probably never going to be the man who has to have every little doohickey just because that's what "the loadout needs". Like Fumps I spent a lot of time mountain biking so I follow the mantra of "if it works, buy it". All that considered I don't have any particular axe to grind with the milsim guys that want an accurate representation of a specific unit other than the ones that seem to think they are somehow "better" because their kit is "right". Like the old biking meme of a guy falling off his Harley says - chrome don't mean shit if you can't ride.
  9. If more airsofters looked like Penny, it'd be in the olympics.
  10. This is a good place to start: http://www.aipsc.co.uk/
  11. Oh, I agree. It's a point of reference for people though. The problem isn't the name it's the perception of what it is. On the one hand you have the people that assume it's like paintball because it's "running around the woods with guns" (these are the same people that don't know any better when the Daily Mail publishes a picture of a Delta Operator holding an M4 and captions it "SAS soldier holding an AK") and on the other hand you have the people that see milsim and assume we're all Walts.
  12. They don't. But then they're happy to pay the proper money for the real stuff (assuming they don't get issued it anyway).
  13. I also wish I'd known that there would be so many military try hards that would take you to task over whether or not MTP is better than multicam in british woodland between 3 and 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
  14. Most masks will give you problems getting a good cheek weld but the neoprene masks are three parts of F-all use for protection. The other option would be to use a riser with your weapon sight. Something like a T1 sight on a high rise will bring it up enough that you don't need to scrunch in quite so tight to use it. Or you could try changing your stock to something a bit slimmer like a Magpul CTR or MOE style.
  15. I'd still suggest spending a bit more and getting an FMA but if you just want a cheap helmet that looks the part and stops you getting welts on your head then it'll be fine. Just don't expect any actual impact protection from it. As for the accessories then yes they'll be fine. They should fit and FAST style helmet. The sideplates fit to the rail which is fairly universal and the chinguard uses velcro inside the helmet.
  16. They do. But then they also have people that have cut off their own head with a chainsaw to prove how manly they are. Pretty sure they don't have the hand wringing, money grabbing insurance companies that we do either...
  17. I was going to say "fine, fair enough" but then you had to go and do the "high horse" thing. You asked for peoples input and you got it. You got my opinion in all its unfiltered, unedited glory (actually that's not quite true but then you'd have got really upset at what I wrote the first two times). I know now that I wasn't supposed to have the opinion of "but there's nothing wrong with calling it airsoft". Maybe you should try phrasing the question differently. Maybe start with something like "hey, just for shits and giggles what else could we call the game we play" instead of suggesting that "airsoft" is in some way not manly enough. For a general point though - and this goes out to everyone that reads this - having a differing opinion does NOT mean you're up on your "high horse". It just means you have a different opinion. I don't even like horses. Stupid poncey things.
  18. Good lord, no! That's why they're a fraction of the cost.
  19. OK, for those of us that wanted an intelligent discourse; changing the name to something "more descriptive of the pain involved" or indeed "more masculine" makes the sport LESS inclusive and MORE likely to attract the kind of people we DON'T want. Calling it "Man pain ball" is hardly going to encourage more kids and women to want to play, now is it? At the end of the day it doesn't matter what you call it when you try and explain it to people they will ALWAYS say "...so it's like paintball then".
