  1. All deposits up to date and confirmed via Paypal. Okto admin tell me there are two weekend spaces on the MDF government force and one weekend space on the MPF rebel force. Okto are also processing UKARA registrations now so players who attend both MILSIM games in a year can keep their UKARA updated even if they don't skirmish elsewhere.
  2. Ive just got the tracking details. Effectively lost a week because they didn't find my email giving them my UKARA number and couldn't be bothered to tell me they needed it before they would ship. The order just sat at 'Processing" status. They also sat on my Paypal money for 3-4 days before even processing the order. Sloppy slow admin.
  3. So youre dealing with a site who doesnt want to put it on the database and a retailer who either cant or doesnt want to put it on the database? Most sites will do it for you, usually through a tame retailer, either for free or for a nominal charge.
  4. They have shipped it today after I spoke to them twice. At the end of the day, Airsoft retailers have two main tasks. 1. Ship out with what you order with efficiency and transparency 2. Handle after sales complaints and warranties fairly and quickly. No.1 is really easy, but so many struggle. My rule of thumb with retailers is I dont deal with them again when they make me do the work. The guy I spoke to at Gunfire was fine over the phone but their written communication is poor. Its not their English either - thats flawless. It seems like a combination of lack of willingness to enter into e-mail correspondence and a rigid inflexible order handling system. In fairness, I only bought the item because I couldn't find it in the UK
  5. Got frustrated at the delay and phoned Poland. ME Why have you suspended my order ? THEM we need to know yout UKARA number ? ME I sent it to you by e-mail last week under separate cover (thinking: why couldn't you just ask me by e-mail rather than sending cryptic messages about suspension) THEM Oh we never received that - wait a minute - oh yes, we've found it. ME OK I will tell you again and I will confirm it by e-mail as well. THEM OK, well if you want us to send it today, send the number by email and then phone back in 15 minutes to check we have it Its not even a RIF but apparently UPS like to know the UKARA number otherwise they wont ship it. I have less hassle and better communications dealing with the Chinese.
  6. I sent them an email last night asking why my order hasnt been shipped after ten days? The good news is they answered me. The bad news is they sent a short note saying my order has been put on hold. Failure to contact them might result in my order being cancelled ! They've taken the money. If you look, the order status now says suspended, but they didnt think to tell me any of this until I queried why they had missed delivery ? Not impressed.
  7. No problem. Next one is September 2015
  8. Not impressed with Gunfire. Their communication is pretty poor. They sit on your Paypal payment for several days before processing the order. Once the order is placed, its very hard to find out if your goods have been shipped or not. Their website order status section is not particularly clear or easy to navigate. Order placed on 9th for an ex stock item. Here we are, 18th Nov and Ive no idea when my goods are coming. UPS say it hasn't been collected from Gunfire yet. Its not even a RIF.
  9. We have just two places left on the MDF now if you are still interested.
  10. Only one place left on the MPF and 6 places left on the MDF
  11. Don't think it will be a problem. Best thing is to contact them on the Okto Eight Milsim FB page and message them a photo of the camo you are proposing. The main consideration is to ensure that the three forces are clearly definable from a distance, rather than any form of camo elitism.
  12. OK we have had a lot more deposits come through today. The Coalition Special Forces team is full, we have only 3 spaces left in the MPF rebels team and 8 spaces left on the MDF government team.
  13. Are these non G&G types tried and tested with the weapon or are they just people listing different mags ? Ive heard that the non G&G types are a bit hit and miss and Ive heard about mags dropping out etc
  14. I just use "airsoft sight". I recently bought a red dot sight for a shoulder mounted rocket launcher DIY project where I didn't need a high grade optic. It was about £20 but it doesn't look like any of the RS ones which in this case, suited my purpose. Also the red/green dot always seems the same size/brightness so is too much in lower light.
  15. You wont get much in the way of decent optics for that amount, Best try Ebay. G&G mags are the best/safest choice.
  16. I was looking for Russian camo recently for our Russian milsim game but quickly came to the conclusion that its vastly overpriced for some reason. Objecting to paying over £100 for a jacket or having to import from Russia, I didn't take it further. Spetnaz wear lots of different camo. If you find a reasonably priced source, Im all ears. ETA I did find this one UK store which wasn't too bad but the choice was limited http://www.thecombatstore.co.uk/shop/russian-gear/ Russian sites include http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/ http://www.srvv.org/en/surpat/ http://www.soviet-power.com/product.php?cat=70
  17. 24 players signed on with more pledged for next week. Group starting to fill nicely. Operation Tailspin is certainly going to be bigger than the previous Operation Skylight.
  18. Id like to see that. We were asked to look into TAG by one of our players, so we have and made a preliminary decision after some discussion amongst the group which took into account organiser liability and what players were willing to sign up to. Its always difficult without first hand experience of the product itself. We will continue to evaluate TAG going forward, so are always interested in video evidence etc. We hope to learn a lot by using the training rounds at the next game if the interested player (s) decide to stump up the financial commitment and use them
  19. Airsoft World themselves say at their ganes (The Fort?) that TAG firers have to be more than 60m away from the intended target.
  20. We are going to try the training rounds for taking vehicles out in our next game. If they ever launch the smoke product here, which is unlikely as they tell me its puts out very little smoke and will cost a lot of money to get through CE approval, then we will use that for assaults on defended positions.
  21. I agree. Its largely the same in effect. With a hand thrown pyro, you can see the 15-20m that you are throwing and ensure as best you can that a live target is not in the way. If you fire a grenade launcher on a arc in the direction of a camp or defence 60+m away, you really have no idea where it will land. Trajectory and the influence of crosswinds could put that Reaper or Archangel on somebody's head. The latter explodes on impact.
  22. Debatable. I think organisers have a duty of care to take reasonable precautions. If, as we do, you have a rule that: Pyro’s must not be thrown at a live target. ANY heavy cased pyro’s must be under arm rolled or dropped ONLY! BB Claymore and powder mines must not be set up to hit above 3ft from the ground. it would be wrong to allow what are effectively airborne MK5s which are dropped on to target. At 80m and with single rounds, you cant be that accurate.
  23. Ive now watched lots of videos of TAG products. The pyro based rounds, the Reaper and Archangel are flashbang rounds. Ive seen them fired in a CQB situation where they burnt the carpet in the room and made the Tango's ears ring. Rolling that low towards the enemy is one thing - you can see largely where people are and not get too close. We restrict the size of those bangs in our games to MK5s to protect ears etc. If you fire an Archangel 80m, you have no idea where it will land. It could land dangerously close to a player. If they only have eye pro on, it presents a risk. The round is very light and its impact is low at that range - its more the uncontrollable flash bang. Ive been told its a mk5 equivalent (120dB @ 1m) although it sounds worse on the videos. Unless players wear full face, gloves, long sleeves and ear pro, I cant see how it can be done with any degree of guaranteed safety.
