  1. We organise games set in a former soviet republic setting so SVDs and AKs are our favourite subject. Personally I have a G&G AK103 with blowback which I love but our rental guns are Cyma and many of the players have bought Cyma. Inexpensive and strong.
  2. I follow the milsim groups on Facebook and it always amazes me how many different milsim experiences are out there, the misconceptions of those who believe what others tell them and often just downright ignorance that their style is right. There are lots of flavours of milsim. Its just about reading the information and playing whats right for you.
  3. Yes. I dont know if lazy is the right word, but it used to irritate me that if you werent playing in a team of mates, players would just ignore you and what was going on, to follow their own different agenda. I would only do skirmishes in a team now.
  4. Tsiara Village in Moldistan. Just part of the exercise area for Op Firestorm in August. ‪#‎deathtogretsky‬
  5. GBBR is very different to AEG, explore the pros and cons of the two before seriously considering gas as your first rifle.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I used to play with AWA and know Rob and Curly there. Got my first UKARA with them and its a reasonable skirmish site.
  7. There is a Facebook Real Sword group which you might find useful. I have their Type 56 and its good for specialist questions.
  8. The real Glocks are good pistols, but personally I dont like their appearance so I dont bother with them in Airsoft. I have H&K, SIG, Walther, Beretta, S&W and love them all for different pros and cons, but I really cant get warmed up about Glocks. So many units use them, if you are going for realistic loadouts, its quite hard to ignore them.
  9. PMC Team fully booked already. Game is 40% booked as of the first morning.
  10. I dont think any of the cheaper manufacturers make a SCAR, so yes they probably are more mid to high end. I personally like the SCAR too and have the G&G one. First guns are very much down to personal taste and you are quite likely to change your mind after a few games.
  11. Did you have to change the connections? I put one in a G&G rifle recently and had to convert small Tamiya to large.
  12. Yes we have a dad who brought his 15 year old son last milsim. They fought on the same squad in the same force and both enjoyed themselves.
  13. Forty ? - nah, lots of older people than that play airsoft. I'm in my fifties and we have older than that both on this forum and out there in games. I live on the edge of Essex, just as it touches Hertfordshire and haven't played at the Lair. My skirmish site was AWA in Sawbridgeworth. Actually, older people play different airsoft. Because we cant sprint around like the worlds on fire, it becomes more tactical and dependent on teamwork. Probably why I started to veer towards milsim rather than skirmishing as its more about planning and tactics. Airsoft is really a good way to bond with your kids and do something together.
  14. welcome to the forum. Just renewed my UKARA - total PITA because Ive played at different sites.
  15. Goggles and a lower face mask are generally considered as full face protection
  16. We have just changed the loadout slightly for the rebels because we have arrived at a situation where two teams could end up wearing baseball caps and 100% solid colours. So we have asked the MPF rebels not to wear baseball caps. The PMC team are unfortunately restricted to just wearing baseball caps, but the MPF have a myriad of headgear to choose from. They arent allowed helmets, boonies or berets, but that leaves a lot of other more freestyle hats to choose from. Can you make some sensible suggestions to help stir their imaginations ?
