  1. Awesome weekend! Anzio yesterday, the block today! Shattered now though!

The Block is awesome. I need to go there more often.

Was my first real cqb game. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

  2. Taiwangun.com Based in Poland. Free shipping on orders over £60. No import fees and is delivered by courier (usually within 5 working days). I've bought some gearbox parts, mags & external accessories from there. Offer some hard to find things for more 'exotic' or rare guns and are, in general, cheap prices. Just my two cents
  3. I've fixed it! One of the trigger contact screws had started to loosen up, making the connection very weak. I've tightened it up and now it cycles again perfectly! So, the revamp has been finished! I installed an m100 spring by madbull and a blue shark rubber. There is some over hop so I am now playing around with different softness nubs today (day off!!). Thanks everyone for the help and advice, much appreciated again!
  4. Thanks for the advice! It's a Classic Army UMC, a clone of the G&G UMG. I've taken it apart and re-assembled it so many times last night and every time it just wouldn't work. The only different outcome was that on one disassembley, the gearbox would be able to cycle after 2 or 3 trigger pulls on semi. Makes a wierd noise as I do it. Can't really describe the noise...just sounds a bit like an underpowered cycle... :S
  5. I've found that the problem was in fact the hop rubber! There was a small hole underneath and it wasn't sealing properly. Having replaced it, I am hitting 330 consistently....well...I was.... :/ I've now got an issue with the gearbox. When the trigger is pulled on semi auto, it clicks and nothing happens. Sometimes it will fire, but it isn't a proper cycle and it sounds weak. Having researched, it could apparently be due to the cut off lever....but I have no idea how to solve this problem or how to troubleshoot it. Any advice or help would be much appreciated!
  6. I used a flip to side magnifier with and eotech holo sight for a short while but I found that the flip to side magnifier was a little useless...but that was for cqb. I did use it on occasion during a woodland skirmish a few months ago. Might I recommend a normal acog without the red dot on top, then put offset iron sights on the rifle for close range engagements? I find they are really useful. It all falls down to personal preference though really and the type of game you play. I'm more into cqb/fibua atm and my loadouts are so much more different than when I was playing woodland all of the time. Also, if you are worried about the optics getting shot out, I'd recommend a bb shield of some description. They sit in front of the sights and stop any bb's hitting the sight. They don't obscure vision and are fairly cheap.
  7. 'anyone know of grenade launcher platform that can attach my eglm to? Looking for a way to sling it over my shoulder

  8. Here's a broad question: Does anyone know much about the cost of laser engraving on guns? I was thinking of getting the FN trades on my scar (recent model since vfc lost the fn rights) but I don't know if it would cost £20, £50, £100, £200 etc

  9. Can anyone recommend/link a battery that will fit in a peq box? Also looking for a peq battery box that has a working laser or torch. I've bought a kac pdw that needs a battery and box :D

  10. I've ran into another problem. I've installed the madbull m100 and chrono'd but only hitting 280 fps at max. Could that be air seal related or a barrel issue? Stock length is 205mm. When I added a 363mm barrel fps went up to 380 fps from 320. The stock spring is a little longer and does feel a bit more tense than the m100.
  11. Can anyone recommend any grease to use on gearbox parts? When I open my UMP gearbox it's hard to put it back together because the AR latch and another gear have a tendency to fly out of place when putting the shell back on. Any advice? Ta

Use a motor(if it's a neodymium magnet motor) Or a large neodymium magnet to hold them down. I often deal with ACM so I use the motors which have strong enough magnets to help hold it down. For grease I use White lithium for drivetrain components(mainly metal on metal contact) and Silicone grease for compression parts and plastic to metal contact like the piston on the guide rails

  12. One thing you may notice is that the charging handle is very tough to pull. It's not the strength of actually pulling it; it's the wear on your pulling finger as it digs in. I got the extension for it and it really makes the difference. I can't comment on the out of the box performance as mine came with a damaged cylinder head so by the time I first skirmished it properly, it had a new spring, barrel, cylinder head, piston, trigger sears and hop unit! It's also a BIG gun. Mines huge....so to speak. I've got a suppressor on mine and when stood with the stock on the floor, it comes up to my chin! What I would recommend though, are optic rails from Kalinka Optics if you are not going for the POSP-1 scope. I use this: http://kalinkaoptics.com/mounts/svd-psl-tigr-romak-3/original-bp-02-svd-psl-tigr-low-profile-centered-side-mount-to-weaver-rail.html The universal mount that a lot of people put on is too high, so some scopes won't zero in properly as they won't look low enough. It can also give a strange visual effect from parallax which makes it look like the bb is bending into it's target when it is in fact going perfectly straight. Before suppressor mod: After, next to my SCAR and UMP. http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/3820-gun-picture-thread/page-110#entry143368 (cant find the original picture). One good thing; it takes AEG parts. It is very easy to install parts. I would recommend the spring SVD. It certainly turns heads...and with the suppressor on it is so quiet. List of upgrades: AirsoftPro.cz Upgraded trigger sears AirsoftPro.cz Upgraded hop unit AirsoftPro.cz Upgraded outer/inner barrel holding unit M140 spring AirsoftPro.cz Reinforced piston AirsoftPro.cz Reinforced cylinder head Madbull 6.03 650mm tightbore barrel Forgotten brand red hop rubber AirsoftPro Suppressor adapter (nicely cushions the end of the tight bore barrel) Kalinka optic mount Black handguard/grip furniture (previously 2-tone) AirsoftPro.cz Charging handle extension Soon to be getting a prometheus hop rubber as my other hard rubber shredded during a strip down :/
  13. I managed it with just under £600 xD I would recommend the A&K SVD but it can be a little problematic so for a beginner it might not be the best option. Love mine to bits and it performs flawlessly but it has taken about 7-8 months to get it working correctly. That is something that you will need a lot of...patience. Once you have it set up properly though, it can be INCREDIBLY satisfying. The L96 in the picture is a good beginners rifle as my brother has one. The Marui VSR that a few have mentioned is also good as my best mate has one (fully upgraded took the overall cost to just over £500 IIRC). Out of the box, the L96 is usable but it won't be able to out-range other snipers. It is a nice and easy system to work with though...and in my opinion they look gorgeous
  14. You know you are obsessed with airsoft/guns when you notice your trigger discipline on a bottle of dettol spray..

    EGLM advice

Used the EGLM at Anzio on Saturday. Was amazing! Got 2 kills (one of which has been immortalized on my friends camera) and it turned many heads. Thanks for the help guys...now to begin the collection of moscart shells!

    EGLM advice

Ahhh ok. I'd seen the redwolf airsoft test with the ballistic jelly and they reckoned it was less than 200fps based on how the bb's penetrate the jelly compared to aeg shots but I just wanted to be sure! Thanks again for the help guys!

    EGLM advice

Awesome, thanks again for your help Lozart! I got the madbull 210 round shell for now (a definite room clearer!) and 2 shells from ebay which were unnamed and cheap (not expecting much). I'll be trying all of them out at anzio on saturday! Here's a potentially stupid question *drumroll* do you/how do you chrono a moscart?
  18. THE FNG

    EGLM advice

Hi guys, I'm about to buy the VFC EGLM for my SCAR: I was wondering what gas would be the best to use and also what shells would be recommended? I'll be buying a maximum of 2 shells and I'd rather keep the cost as low as possible. Also, any recommendations for a molle pouch for the shells would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  19. Cleaned my dump ouch out after a woodland skirmish and found a myriad of insects!

  20. Like I said, wearing shooting glasses underneath! And I got loads of rechargeables!
  21. Fantastic, cheers Dave. Here's a potentially daft question...do you hydrate the piston O-ring at all? I'll probably get the rubber and spring now and then get the barrel with the wage packet in May. I'll probably post results when I get them. I can vouch for the green g&g rubber. I put one in my SCAR and it is very good. Added a nice consistency as well as a bit of range that I couldn't hit. Not tried a blue yet. Do the fish bone nubs make as much difference as the websites say?
  22. Rather than starting a new thread; I bought a set of these the other day: http://www.airsoftworld.net/acm-pro-goggle.html A clone of the marui version. I'll be testing them out at a skrim on Sunday. It's more for the fan than anything. I will be wearing a pair of shooting glasses underneath too as I don't know how good the lenses are ( they appear to be solid but I aint risking that shizzle). I sat with them on after work in a very warm room for ages and let them fog up, then turned on the fan. Cleared in 20 seconds or so.
  23. Hi all! Right, I've decided it is time to upgrade my UMP's internals when I get paid mid May. The situation is that has started to loose it's power by around 5 - 10 fps (not necessary the issue) and the range has dropped considerably (more the issue). I put in a m105 spring made by element, but it now only hits 260ish fps as opposed to stock fps of 325. I have concluded that element springs are shite as I had one for my p90 (an m100) that only reached 240ish fps. My questions are: What spring would you recommend? What hop rubber would you recommend? Would a tightbore be recommended? If so, what length? Would any cylinder heads, pistons etc be recommended? (I think this part of the gearbox is fine; gears all still look pristine). I would assume an m100 spring from madbull, g&g green or blue hop rubber and a madbull 6.03 barrel at a length closest to the stock barrel, but I wanted to see what you guys think before I act. Also worth noting; 205mm stock barrel is currently installed. Adding a 363mm barrel made range and accuracy worse and increased fps to 380! Compression appears to be fine at the moment. Thanks in advance, Andy
  24. First time I've posted my guns on here.....here goes! Bottom to top: Classic Army UMP VFC SCAR-L A&K Dragunov SVD Wondering whether to use black or tan mags in the SCAR? And if you're wondering about the SVD's size...I'm 5'9 and it comes up to my chin!!
