  1. Component-Shop is good for batteries and chargers. You should be able to buy both for around £20-£25 (I know someone bought a LiPo + Charger for £25)

£60 ish for charger and battery from them, the cheap ones are junk, as they don't do balancing.

  2. It has to be a lipo, as you will see in the video when it finally uploads.

On a side note, didn't notice this until after i'd done the video:

I do believe this might have one of the toptech gearboxes in it o.O

  3. Whoever told you Flash Mags reduce the noise is talking utter rubbish, if anything they're worse. If you buy Lonex (or ASG rebranded) they will give about 2 years service until the ratchet spring fails. But then a replacement spring is a few pence to replace. If you however buy the cheap ones, you'll get a few months tops before the whole mechanism collapses, which is virtually irreparable. Had a few of each for a Dytac for woodland games, the Lonex were drastically better.

  4. More marketing BS from G&G. It needs a stock tube LiPo, not exactly difficult to get hold of, a smart charger such as a Imax B6 or a Turnigy Accucell 6 is needed however. The cheap power brick ones are no good.

No G&G gun as far as I am aware comes with a battery or charger. And I've had a lot of them in the past 5 years.

Those midcap mags are what i've bought to go along with it, so I shall be able to give a fair assessment of those as well.

  5. I ordered one on Monday, waiting for the damn thing to be shipped. I'll be reviewing it as soon as it does arrive however, as there are reports of this supposedly being one of the new G&G high cycles (please god, be true  )

Oh and FPS isn't everything, the G&G hop unit is good enough that the difference in range between 328 and 350fps is pointlessly minimal.

  6. ^^You know what I'm developing as a policy toward CYMA internals, GK? Leave 'em alone. They're meant to be loose and noisy and coated in earwax - they work best that way. You put a TBB in there, you'll need a spring downgrade. The next thing, you'll be wiping all that earwax out and doing a nice shim job. Then you're going to check the compression and find it's sh*t. So you'll want a new O-ring, maybe a piston head. A new piston head on that nasty looking off-white plastic piston...? So that's a nice new SHS blue one. And that crappy no-O-ring air nozzle...? No way, man! What you want in there is a nice shiny ali one... going into the stock, who-knows-what-degree hop rubber...? Nah... gotta be a G&G Green at least, maybe a Prommy Purple for a marksman rifle... maybe get a new CNC hop unit to go with...

And by then, if it's working as well as it did when it was stock, the noodly-appendaged god of airsoft is smiling on you...

Edit: OOps, i almost forgot! Thanks for the info on the sling point. Have you got a linky?

It already has a 6.04 as standard, but I want an Orga Magnus 6.13 or 6.23, and everything else will be replaced with lonex v7 parts bar the gearset. Sorbo'd, AOE sorted, Airlab Mosfet. When I bought it, it was on the understanding that i would be keeping only the gearbox shell and the externals in the long run.

Replacing the hop rubber is a given, and will undoubtedly be a prommy purple. Aiming for ~400fps semi locked.

  7. Where did you get that sling point strap on your M14, GK?

Got it originally to go with the recoil 416 (no one had any freedom art sling points in stock), it comes from a 5.11 Static Single Point sling kit, and it is by far one of the best made I've used.

Once i'd dialed the hop in, the rifle was insane, only guns outranging me on the field were a fully Laylaxed VSR and L96, still going to upgrade the internals anyway :)
