  1. Kiwi is right about the Ra-tech bolts, right pieces of sh*t they are.

As Tariq says, buy stock definitely, WE's quality control isn't very good so it may last ages, it may last a couple thousand rounds, then upgrade. For the trigger set, go for CWI over ra-tech or just replace with standard WE parts and hope you get a good one. No need to upgrade the bolt though, keep the stock one- not bad and lighter than upgrade ones.

And it's not just for WE that the RATECH bolts are iffy, every time I see a 2nd hand WA/Ino/G&P listed with one, a little part of me dies inside, as they are more expensive than the better upgraded bolt's.

  2. Get them stock (NO RA-tech parts) and just add the NPAS.

Once a trigger part fails eventually, replace the entire trigger parts with RA-tech, or just replace that 1 failed part with a WE part.

I have a 416 which is pretty much the M4 and its bloody fantastic, and not a pain in the arse at all.

And replacing all the trigger parts with RATECH requires replacing the BCG as well, less you want to mincemeat the zinc bolt. But then that brings the issue of Quality control to light. You have absolutely no guarantee the "upgraded" BCG will even work OOTB, most require fairly extensive modification, which is why milspec are not stocking said BCG at the moment.

  3. ^^that's a great looking stock & rail

The stock, despite all the install videos complaining about it being difficult, was a breeze to install. The rail tapers as it goes from the receiver to the muzzle, and it is SO light. Weighed it before installing it, and its just shy of 350g. To put that into perspective, the Madbull 12.5" DD Rail is 700g, and this new one is 2.5" longer o.O

  4.

That's very unfortunate, how old was the gun/rounds fired?

Just over a year / ~10000 rounds, so I should've seen it coming really, I've discovered what the problem is though. The PTS PRS kit is supposed to come with a 2" Buffer Spacer, needless to say it didn't. I can't find one in the UK, so I'm going to borrow a M16A2 Buffer from one of my WOC's and see whether that will prevent the bolt from travelling too far back, which was the cause of the nozzle shearing I think. Please oh please let that solution work :P

  5. Some choice bits on there, nice. Be interested to see some more outdoor shots.

My bank account is hurting a little. I would've been getting better pictures of it and using it on Sunday...until the loading nozzle sheared. D'oh. Any other GBBR, and I could've just cannibalised another gun for the part, but no, it had to be the one I don't have a spare for.

  6. On a WE OB M4 base.

  7. Just going to give a quick update regarding the magazines mentioned in the video. They are junk. In one of them the follower jammed with a mere 50ish bb's loaded. So I go about dismantling it to undo the jam. Really, really bad move. 4 screws to remove, crack open the shell slowly to avoid the spring launching into outer space, no dice, it does it anyway. 5 SPRINGS. What the hell?! There is no way to rebuild them without 6 or so hands, its just such a stupid design. SO. If you have bought some already, if it breaks, bin it. Get a decent mag, never ever consider another pack of these again.

NB: I spent nearly 2 hours trying to rebuild it before it ended up in the bin.

  8. Because some people are apparently colour blind, and hence ATACS FG is for the tan team at the next AI (daf**) I have just ordered myself a Propper Tac U Combat Shirt and Trousers in ATACS LE. Had to order it from the US because none of the alternative sellers seem to stock anything in long measurements >.>

Edit: Oh and a TPC Tactical Ninja Mask in LE as well :)

  9. I have to wait another month now as my cars intercooler has a hole in it and needs replaced :-(

I need to buy new shocks for the car that will be my first, slightly annoying, but the rest of the car is in good nick, and it's free :)

  10. Played with this today, and oh wow it is good. Amusing outranging guns that cost 10-15x as much. Oh and it is unbelievably loud with BB's exiting the amplifier, got a call over the radio from a marshall on the other end of the site "You sure that's loud enough mate?"

  11. Yep, you are looking at the HK site which are out of stock. UK site has them in. Google is your friend

If you'd read further up the thread, we had already established they had them in stock, but for £70 a pop. Which is massively overpriced.
