  1. How much were they asking for the UBACS and trousers? I'm liking that UBACS especially
  2. I own one of those rigs (the first one Mr_B linked to) and it is well worth the price. They used to be just £25, but flecktarn.co.uk raised the price by quite a bit. The Lightweight rig is more expensive than the Recon rig, however you get 3 sewn in pouches on it, meaning you don't have to buy pouches separately, like you do on the Recon rig. Of course if you do want a MOLLE rig like the Recon chest rig, there are a complete plethora of MOLLE compatible pouches which will fit it.
  3. I'd actually wait until you can buy it in RIF form i.e. no 2 tone paint. If you're going to spend over £300 on a G&G HBA then why have it ruined by bright orange/green paint?
  4. You could always say it was arty dropping a shell on them every 15 seconds
  5. Just asking, but what's the point in buying a sniper rifle if you can't have it firing at over 400 FPS? Surely you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage compared to AEG users who can put more BBs on target in a shorter time with guns of the same power?

  7. Might have been London, I saw the article a long time ago and I can only dimly remember the details
  8. I heard of a kid in the midlands who made £14k in 2 years of running a black market for sweets & drinks in his school. The school found out and expelled him though.
  9. The SRS looks amazing! I need to get myself one of those...
  10. Bit late on the wagon, but these sound great....now if there's a few AK versions planned for later, I'd be even more interested. Maybe another SVD for the market?
  11. You won't get a job as a KP (kitchen porter) easily at age 14. Even then, you have to know what you've signed up to. I made £5.50/hour doing roughly 8 hours a week, until I stopped being given shifts and found I was in a zero hour contract. I've not had a single shift since October and I haven't found any other employment despite writing to half a dozen pubs and supermarkets. If it's this dire looking for mainstream part time jobs, I don't want to imagine the difficulties in finding an airsoft specific part time job.
  12. Base guns don't have to be expensive, it depends on what you're looking for. G&G and CYMA M14s are inexpensive and can both be easily upgraded. G&P M14s are a little more expensive but they look & feel incredibly good. It's the same story with M16 length rifles. G&G make some really good ones. It's not always the case of spending £££ on something like an A&K or G&G SR25. Any airsoft gun with a minimum inner barrel length of 363mm (standard M4 length) has potential to be upgraded to DMR standard. Again, the base gun is entirely down to personal choice, however choosing something conventional like an M16 will lead to more compatibility with internal upgrades and external parts. Ancillaries like magazines, mag pouches etc are also very easy to get hold of for M16s and other 5.56mm based airsoft weapons. Choosing an M16 would also free up most of a budget for upgrades. Of course, you can't just buy an airsoft DMR style weapon such as a G&G SR25 and expect it to perform like an M14/16 someone's upgraded to DMR standard. Creating a DMR from new is time consuming and requires a lot of effort and £££. You do get the satisfaction of having something you've built working exactly the way you've intended. If you don't fancy spending loads of time and money converting an AEG to DMR standard yourself, you can always pay a tech to do it or buy second hand. As for the upgrades, here's a list of what's in mine: Prometheus tightbore barrel w/R-Hop Super Shooter Gears Nano Gate AB Mosfet SHS Hi-Torque Motor Lonex Compression Parts Air-Lab Sorbo Pad to correct AOE Prometheus M120 Spring This lot's in my VFC M27. It's also locked to semi via the mosfet switch, which is vital when building a DMR- it only counts as an AEG if it's not locked to semi, and violates site AEG FPS limits. Using LiPo batteries is also a very good idea. The trigger response of a LiPo vs an NiMh hooked up to my M27 is extremely noticeable. I've got my M27 doing 410-425 FPS on 0.20g BBs. If you're serious about creating your own DMR, it might be an idea to visit this thread. Airsoft Sniper Forum are the generally agreed non-official authority on creating long range airsoft guns.
  13. How does some Gmod tomorrow night sound? My steam name is sandvichstrikeforce Totally not suggesting Gmod because that's the only game I have of those...
  14. They're absolutely terrible and they've been discontinued.
  15. GHK G5. The rifle itself will cost £250-£265, mags are a different story entirely.
  16. Another 7.4V 25C 1300mAh LiPo from Componentshop and a few assorted patches from Firesupport
  17. When it comes to rifle size AEGs for DMR conversion, there is literally no need to worry about barrel length. The DMR building blokes on Airsoft Sniper Forum generally agree that a DMR can have an inner barrel as short as 363mm (they tend to be the accepted authority on mostly everything DMR/Bolt Action related. This thread may be useful to you). What makes a good DMR? A consistent power output (worst case scenario you should only have up to ±2-3 FPS difference in BB velocity) A stable and consistent hop and well made (straight as possible) barrel High quality heavy ammunition; 0.3-0.4G BBs are the accepted weight, there's a lot of debate on the best manufacturer though You will also be looking at £££ to set an AEG based one up properly. As Ed has said, there's also the PolarStar engine option (uses high pressure air or HPA to propel the BB) or gas blowback rifles (GBBRs). I would not recommend doing a DMR project for your first gun, the same as I would not recommend trying to create a perfect airsoft sniper rifle as an initial gun. As for sights- I find a red dot is perfectly fine for me. You can get flip-to-side magnifiers as well, and some scopes have screw-in magnifiers available for them.
  18. An airsoft DMR is a LOT more than just a large rifle. You have to pour a lot of cash into proper internal upgrades and spend a lot of time installing them and tweaking with the weapon to get it right. My M27 DMR has these aftermarket parts in it: Prometheus tightbore barrel w/R-Hop Super Shooter Gears Gate AB Mosfet SHS Hi-Torque Motor Lonex Compression Parts Air-Lab Sorbo Pad to correct AOE Prometheus M120 Spring It's also been locked to semi automatic to comply with skirmish site rules on DMRs. It currently does 410-425 FPS on 0.20g BBs. The short of it is you need to spend a lot of time and money getting a rifle up to DMR specification before it's worth it. The length of your rifle is up to you, it really doesn't matter. You don't have to have a long rifle to turn it into a DMR, barrel length does nothing to an airsoft gun's range. I've heard of MP5 AEGs being converted into DMRs before now.
  19. I'd like to see a model which fires each chamber off in quick succession after detonation, just for shits and giggles

  21. HPA if you want them to run completely consistently. A popular rifle to convert to HPA is the KJW M700. I had one- they're great without HPA, but even better with it. There are many many youtube guides for installing an HPA system, and if you need any further help, our friendly neighbourhood HPA guru PT247 may be able to answer any questions you have
  22. I used to dabble with sniping. In airsoft sniping, it's important to remain unnoticed at least until you start shooting at them- and even then it's ideal to remain well hidden. Having someone next to you opening up with a loud AEG will not help you in your role- unless they hold their fire for close quarters defense and act as a spotter.
