  1. agree on the rust sentiment, but those pedestrian maiming pop-up headlights tipped the balance for me Yours a 1.6 or 1.8? and if you don't mind me asking what you pay for insurance?
  2. A MK2 Tariq? only middle aged women drive them
  3. Grab an AK with an underfolding stock, hawian shirt, old life vest and some ripped up shorts. Hold said AK above your head and let out occasional bursts of automatic fire. Go what I like to call 'Full somali' and it'll be a much more realistic pirate loadout than some flintlocks Plus, a lot easier to source the parts to make the loadout.
  4. Should go straight on. I've not tried fitting a different rail to the amoebas, but I can confirm that they are the standard fitment method and certainly LOOK about the right size for fitting a different rail.
  5. Safe on an 11.1V. It has the same gearbox as the now tried and tested Amoeba series guns (it IS an amoeba series gun!) Some of the Amoeba series have bushings rather than bearings, SWAP THESE OUT IMMEDIATELY. the bushings just get worn through causing catastrophic failures of ALL major components. Having said that large and off putting warning, I stuck some bearings in an Amoeba today with a quick shim and the standard gears the thing is a monster. Definately looking more seriously at buying one now.
  6. Pin punch. Use a 2.5/3mm for M4 ones. Or, if I'm not in the workshop, a Magpul 5.56 bullet pin push I've drilled a hole in and put on my keyring
  7. that'll be the bolt that holds your trigger assembly on to the bolt housing causing that. As stated earlier, snaking the bolt side to side whilst removing it is causing the zig-zag look. just file the top of the screw down slightly and make sure that there aren't any burrs on the piston (file/sand any off gently) and reinsert everything. It should drop in with little to no resistance.
  8. Step by step you say? 1. Wear it airsofting 2. Do airsofting, not 'standing around in the woods with brand new tac. gear on not getting it mucky' 3. You see that muddy puddle? You bet your arse you're jumping in it. 4. Boy do those holly bushes look prickly. You'd better have a jog through those. 5. Repeat. DO NOT RINSE.
  9. Simply fantastic from about now until all of the dead leaves have rotted away from the floor. Particularly useful until about Christmas. It's not quite as bright as those photos show, so works VERY well.
  10. Ah, yes. I can see physcology textbooks years from now containing quotes such as: 'Why is everyone such a knob' ~ Some bloke who runs around with toy guns, 2014 and 'What if we all just loved each other, maaan?' ~ That guy what done shot all them other guys, 2014
  11. So I'm away as of this Saturday (26th July) for 6 weeks - my presence will be almost non-existent around here until September. Big Ol' Roadtrip with some mates from NewYork, down to Florida, Across to Vegas, LA and up to Seattle. Obviously, lots of real steel shooting to be had so I'll get some pics up once I return! Try not to wreck the place while I'm gone, and someone feed the cat. ~Dave
  12. Is the motor sitting too high into the gearbox?
  13. Definitely go TM, cost aside they are awesome. Hi caps will work, but really, you want mids for the lack of rattle You CAN increase the fps, but you won't really gain much for your messing around No matter what you do, don't mess with the barrel or hop until something breaks. This is where all of the TM magic is stored, if you open it up you'll spill it all over the floor and never see it again.
  14. OK, so, let's pretend that it's on safe and the guy ISN'T about to definately blind fire: He cannot be shot back. How is that even fair? Part of the reason for no blind fire is it simply isn't a very fun way of playing, where is the excitement in a firefight that you can't be shot in? This is not 'The band rule working' it's thebang rule demonstrating why it is just straight up bad play. I whole heartedly suggest to all players and site owners to discuss this with each other: The surrender rule (common at F&O and many other sites) If you see a guy and don't want to shoot - shout 'surrender/giveup/whatever you think works' The onus is then on the other player to make the decision of either 'yes, hit' or 'no, I'm now going to turn around and try to shoot you before you get me' if the person being surrendered pauses for a second, put a round into their chest/back and carry on, player takes the hit as normal. Much better and prevents someone sneaking up on 6 guys looking the wrong way and "banging a bunch of dudes from behind" where realistically, they could have maybe shot 3/4 before getting killed themselves.
  15. and that is fine if you want a realistic loadout, but some play airsoft as a game with set ways in which to do better. It's like owning a better pair of football shoes or a bigger tennis bat - skill accounts for most, but good equipment is always helpful. The P* Stuff (personal experience with) is just awesome, the way the rounds simply don't deviate from the path of the previous round is just amazing. Polarstars are basically everything every airsofter wants, but with 1 drawback being the air line (and cost, but whatever, you could have bought a systema, 'captain AEGs are awesome') Consistency with an fps every time Immediate trigger response ultra reliable potential for ultra high ROF without spending any more money Potential for ultra high FPS without spending any more money can be so quiet you can't hear them can be so loud you don't want to be in the same room as them They shoot far further on the same barrel/hop setup than a standard AEG
  16. I simply have no words to describe how wrong this is. I have the feeling a Northern meetup would just end up being me and Ed sat in a field arguing about the SA80's design flaws/features
  17. can't help but feel the date for naming our new carrier was selected for a reason: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28149766 HAPPY OLD NIMITZ CLASS CARRIERS DAY, LOSERS!
  18. Another vote for ESS, I use the Crossbows myself, no matter what I do I can't get them to steam up (and yes, I've tried) It's all down to face shape really though, I'm skinny and are by far the most comfy, least steamy glasses I've ever worn, whereas some larger people find them not so good. Try peoples on at game sites, try and mist them, see how quick they clear.
  19. It is a KWC rebrand Awesome pistols, kick hard, very reliable, both gun and mags, nice and accurate + the big seller is the tanny is based on the CZ75 - the best feeling pistol of all time. Fact. If you can get hold of mags easy enough, I say go for it!
  20. 13:1 is fast, one of the quickest sets you'll find cheap and easily. The larger the first number in comparison to the second the slower, but more torquey the gears will be
  21. You'll struggle to even find an SLR at all at the moment! Wood furniture on the less popular battle rifles is almost always taken from a real steel rifle and modified to fit.
  22. but that is an expensive thing to learn on I've had ASCUs before, like 'em but If I were doing the same things again, there are other units I'd go for first.
  23. To me, that looks like an M100 spring - 100m/s is 328fps Just shim it right, get a new motor and you'll be away. 20rps isn't hard to achieve at all. Something can usually be deemed 'broken or in need of attention' if the rifle is firing under 10-15rps Certainly don't need to short stroke anything. also, you won't gain anything for upping the fps by 20
  24. Not true. I have used my XDM in hot weather quite happily on Abbey Brut gas, would do the same again this year with WE high power gas if I hadn't found my MK23. SOME TM pistols break if you use propane or something similar, but in our climate it just isn't that much of a problem.
  25. Buy a phone outright, get out of contract, go over to GiffGaff. I'm not even going to post a referral link, It's cheap and would look like I was advertising for my personal gains. I don't care if you switch. But you should. I've just gone from having no mobile phone to a Lumia 1020 with unlimited 3G (4G soon) and texts +250 minutes for £12 a month + phone on top. Best purchase of this year, and I bought a G5 too, we all know how good they are!
