  1. Thanks for that eveyone. I'll hopefully get a chance to look at it this weekend and work through some of the things you've mentioned. I appreciate your time explaining, what to many, is common knowledge. I've found it very insightful. Regards
  2. Hello all I'm a bit of a novice at airsoft, so I apologise for my rather elementary question. I recently acquired a second hand TM Sig P226. However, I can't get it working. PLEASE could someone walk me through how to use it in the simplest of terms? I've never used a gas blowback gun before, so I'm not even sure how to fill up the mags properly. I did try to fill the mags with the mag at the bottom and the gas canister pointing down, but I wasn't sure how long I was supposed to do it for or when I would know it was full. To me it seemed like the gas wasn't filling the mags properly and I was filling them for too long. In addition when pulling the slide back, it often seemed to remain slightly further back than it should have been and I had to manually move it back into place. Upon firing, only a few times did the gun fire as it should have with the full gas blow back effect the firing a bbs. After that, there seemed to be no gas blow back action and no firing of bbs. I'm hoping that this is more a matter of me not doing something right, rather than the gun being in need of repair. Can anyone help??? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the input. Clearly sounds like skirmishing is the best course of action, but I might try kicking it around the garden for a bit, just to take the shine off it and just to see the look on the neighbours faces as I do it.
  4. I've just bought a Molle chest rig and I basically want to make it look better. It's brand new and looks so. I want to try and give it a more weather beaten, more used and, for more practical purposes, more camouflaged look. Are there any 'How to guides' out there? Can anyone offer any step by step advice? Can anyone show off any pictures of their own work and tell me how you did it?
  5. Thanks for the welcome! And glad to find some local players on here too. I'm still buying kit up at the moment and then I hope I'll come along to some games. So maybe see you there!
  6. Hello all I'm from Newcastle in North Staffordshire. I'm completely new to airsoft, so I'm sure I might have some very lame questions in the coming months, but I hope you'll take pity on me and help me out all the same. I bought myself a Tokyo Marui M4 S System a few years ago, while I was working out in Japan. I didn't really know what airsoft was back then, I just thought that the gun looked and felt great and had to get one. Over in Japan, its a fairly big hobby and there are large airsoft shops in all the cities, but I came back to the UK last year. As I haven't played any games yet, I obviously don't have UKARA certification, so I had to take the gun apart and send it back to the UK in pieces. It's been like that until last week, when I endeavoured to piece it back together. (No mean feat!). Anyway, it seems to be back up and running now, and I've had a bit of a spending spree on EvilBay to buy some extra kit. I'm keen to get playing, but I don't really know where to start... and that's why I've come here! I'm a complete novice, so I would really appreciate some pointers. I do have a few starter quandaries, that I would appreciate your comments on... 1. Where are the best game sites in reasonable commuting distance of North Staffordshire? 2. Will I be permitted to use my own gun, even if I aren't yet UKARA accredited? 3. Do I need to worry about the strength of the gun (fps)? I bought it brand new from a reputable airsoft shop in Japan. I wouldn't want to turn up for a game and be told I cant use it. I haven't customised it or adjusted it's firing mechanism, so I'm hoping not. We'll, I thinks that's all from me for now. Thanks!
