Gift me it via PayPal and I'll send it to Trigger if you really must. I'll PM you my address now. -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

My point on this is if we ever need to mirror it here when/if it goes down then someone will already have a copy. -

It'll already be cached by Google and Wayback Machine so I wouldn't bother. -
Gotta silicone. I'm a converted man: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/28054-cleaning-with-isopropyl-alcohol-vs-silicone/

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Aye, the reason I mentioned it is because I know Darren not to be working there anymore since he said everything would be closing down. He really helped me out 2-3 years ago when I got my L96 and I even bought a lot of my stuff from him but lately some of the terrible additions to the site (have you seen the huge jpg banner they've added to the front page?) and constantly out-of-stock items make it not worth my time. Airsoft Pro have a great turnaround and are just as deserving of your money as any EU state as far as I'm concerned. I mean we're not talking about comparing two similar products here with one being made in the UK; we're talking about a direct rebrand or - in the case of the pistons or trigger mechs that have 'Airsoft Pro' etched onto them - just a resale with a ridiculous markup. I get the whole 'support British companies' thing, but when they're taking the mickey (like ASPUK are with their prices) then you're actively stagnating market competition by not going with those that provide better service/products/prices and in the long run that's good for no one. ASPUK look like that may have had their day, and without teching services are just another store front with a horrible website that need to rethink their business strategy, because with Darren gone I see no reason why they should get an extra 30-40% from me. -

Well, I'm sure the ASPUK guys appreciate that 50% markup you just paid on Airsoft Pro stuff, heh. -
Can't comment on everything else, but the barrel for me is the big one usually and I clean them before and after every game if I'm in woodland. If it's CQB then you're usually fine leaving them longer. Clean with paper towel doused in isopropyl alcohol on the end of your cleaning rod. Then swab with more squares of paper towel until you're getting no more dirt being picked up by the towel. You can clean as far as the bucking, but do that towards the end so you're not pushing dirt onto it from the rest of the barrel (best practice for this is to mark out your cleaning rod so you know exactly how far it needs to be in the barrel so as to not touch the bucking). Leave it to try for 30 seconds then a squirt of low viscosity silicone on another square of paper towel and swab the barrel with it up to just short of the bucking (do not getting silicone near your hop unit or you'll warp the bucking). This stops BB fragments from sticking to the inside of your barrel as easily and thus prolongs the life of it as well as making much of the crap blow out of the barrel on your next shot given the low friction inside there. You can find isopropyl alcohol on eBay for about £7-9 per litre (which will last you probably a couple of years if you're just cleaning with it). It's also really useful for cleaning anything else airsoft related and removes grease and crap really well. Just don't use it on paint.

Aw, you removed it. I was enjoying that.

Look in all the demo pictures where they only show it with the more blocky-looking VLTOR-like uppers; that thing is going to look really out of place on a 416 and isn't anywhere near as cool looking as their old design anyway, plus it's $30 more. Wat. Also, the review on it is slightly funny too - saying the anodising wasn't done properly. Plus, anodising on knurling tends to wear super fast at the vertexes, leaving you with a bright silver charging handle so i'unno if it's a great choice.

The Avalanche looks super super ugly though. The classic one looks much nicer and is $30 cheaper in some places.

Even his writing is camouflaged.

People confirmed already because they paid before tomorrow (as expressly requested)? *Tsk tsk* You've even paid for yourself early you filthy hypocrite. -
I had the PTS Rainier Arms one. Just sold it with my WOC - it was a really nice charging handle. Thing is, the PTS stuff is not going to be as good as a real steel one. It needs to be very strong for pulling back that bolt multiple times, and PTS just don't make one good enough for that. Stick to the really high-tier airsoft manufacturers (like Prime) or get a real one if you want something that's truly going to last. Edit They aren't actually a huge amount of money: http://www.rainierarms.com/mega-ar-15-slide-lock-charging-handle

Yeh, the lube will screw with your hop for that break-in given how much of it you have to use. My only recommendation would be regularly swabbing the bucking/R-Hop with isopropanol when possible. I did try and hint that the charging handle may not stand up to the rigours of a Daytona Gun a few posts ago, heh. Try and source a real one from the US and modify it to fit. Prime may also do some decent ones.

I was browsing today and noticed this. Not sure if this is news or I'm incredibly unobservant, but if it is new then I know a least a handful of you guys with weird outer-barrel issues will glad to hear that PDI seem to be accepting custom orders for barrels or varying bore, length and hop window type: http://www.x-fire.org/order/barrel/e.barrel_order.html

The best place for quite a few pneumatic fittings that I've found is http://uk.rs-online.com - their website is horrible to navigate but you might be able to find something there. I agree with you that push-fittings are naff. That's why I switched my HPA guns to EU QDs that have compression fittings because I'd rather not dump an entire tank one day when the fitting gives in.

You're problem right, but he's sent me one anyway as mine was actually dispatched during that period.

Played in the older closed beta and the open one and urgh... if the incessant matchmaking issues don't make your blood boil then the lag will. Tried playing it tonight and it was incredibly frustrating as constant lag spikes and matchmaking delays/breakages all but ruined it for us. I realise it's a betaTM but a lot of the bugs reported from the closed testing still aren't fixed and with just 2-3 days to go(?) until release, it's not looking like Ubisoft are going to be breaking their chain of buggy initial releases any time soon. I also feel that there are issues with some of the game mechanics. I know the game relies heavily on CQB, but the problem with many games is that having a longer barrel has seemingly no negative effect (unlike in other titles like ArmA which wouldn't allow you to poke your gun through the edge of a concrete wall) and so they've just made shorter barrel guns shoot faster. Everything seems just a lot less varied than any other Rainbow 6 game and looks like the RPG system - at least - is going to get very old very quickly. It also seems like a game with a bit of an identity crisis: Rainbow 6 was - in the old days - a slightly more hardcore tactical shooter. New Vegas changed that a little, but at its core it could still be played as a bit of a tactical shooter if you want it to be. One thing I noticed with Siege is that it doesn't seem to excel at either being realistic nor arcade-y. It's not quite 'pick up and go' enough to be a casual shooter, but it also lacks a lot of the technical depth to be something you could really get deep into and I think that's a shame as it I can really see the co-op aspect being limited in 'late-game' (when everyone has the relatively small number of unlocks for each operator). Like many recent Ubisoft games, they're trying to make it as approachable as possible, and that seems to be coming at a cost right now as core gameplay mechanics are just too simplistic. Good concept, but not a flawless execution by any means in my opinion. I'd recommend everyone to give it the usual couple of weeks so they can fix initial bugs and the scope of the game becomes obvious. Whether or not it's worth the £50 price tag is unsure in my mind and pre-ordering or 'day one' buying of a Ubisoft title is silly at this point given their poor rep.

I assume that was a Facebook copy/paste given the last sentence, heh.

Hold your rifle upside-down and hit people crouching behind cover. Also, if you spin yourself around really fast and then fire, your BB will curve even more and allow you to execute a clean kill on someone standing behind you. I think they did a documentary on this effect called 'Wanted', except in that they just whip handguns around (which is going to be too cumbersome with your VSR/BAR) rather than doing pirouettes.

Ya know what, I'm going to start translating the broken English to actual - if occasionally terribly spelt - English myself then pasting them here until either we stop just getting link spam and/or the translations are done properly (or just proofed). I'd be happy to do it for you if you get in touch, but it's so broken it's basically just the pictures that I check at this point. Won't use quote tags as that fades things out. Red is when I'm not sure about the translation. 5.11 TDU assault shirt -

Are you sure that they exist? For purchase, at least.
