  1. used them before, solid little gun.
  2. Totally unloaded, just over 6kg (it was partly resting on the surface as I'd been holding it for 5 mins ask my inept partner to take a photo, which is why it's showing 5.9kg), fully loaded, 7.3kg, took a couple of photos to prove as even I was slightly shocked,
  3. I don't tend to do very good in progress pictures, and I'm also (unfortunately) the type of guy who does something halfway, and then gets distracted for a few months. it will happen, but it may take some time.
  4. should be good, might see if there's any way of fitting the knife on the inside and add a reinforcement strut or something. thanks
  5. yep don't suppose I could ask you to link some? had a look but can't find any appropriate yet?
  6. Howdy, I'm in the process of getting a friend of mine to make me a rubber copy of my knife (becker tac tool, see below), for use in skimishes, and I was thinking, if possible, make it into a bayonet for my rifle (see below), initial thoughts are to mount a 2 small blade tech TMMS (http://shop.blade-tech.com/small-tmms-outer-inner-p-725.html#.VfK6dPlVhBd), one on the back and front of the knife grip, cutting off the forward ones retention clip for ease of removal, unless anyone has a better idea?
  7. planning to go hiking in machu pichu next year, and all of my boots are either cold or all weather ones, which'll probably overheat my feet, anyone got any recommendations for summer boots preferably full length, if at all possible somewhere that sells them in kent so I can try on sizes (size 9 in length, but 12 in width, tends to cause issues with online bought ones)
  8. this might be of some use if your trying to connect the box mag and gun up https://www.retroarms.com/other/bowden-spring-for-m249-m60-mags
  9. I'm kind of with lozart on this one, tend to use .28's for my main, but always keep some cheap .2 and .25 as a throw away for anyone running out mid game (I've got 2 of those ammo pouch bags, one for each set). hell, when I first started there were plenty of times when I ran out of ammo, and some kind person lent me a couple of hundred to tide me over till endex, and I'm all for encouraging the younger players. all for one, and one for all
  10. anyone got an ICS "lightweight" 40mm shell? and if so can they PM me as I've got a couple of questions?

  11. bit of an update, as if it wasn't unwieldy enough lol. next things will be some RIS on the side for the funky looking vltor bipods, possibly to "sink" the launcher into the gun, slightly less weight, slightly lower profile.
  12. first try with the kydex mag pouches, very happy with them, only had one fall out, and that was from a running jump/fall, planning to use either velcro or elastic to prevent it next time.
  13. https://www.facebook.com/AirsoftMachineShop?fref=ts highly recommended, great service, great quality. Have had my knife done, and sets of perspex business cards made up and am very happy with them (will be posting photos when I get home again, sat/mon). 10/10 will be using them again.
  14. Have you considered ABU, slightly more interesting looking, in my opinion?
  15. Don't the russians have 2 versions, the (what we would call) normal airsoft of around the 328fps, and then the "hardcore" version called Strikeball where the average power is around the 500fps for assault rifles? just from memory so may be wrong.
  16. thanks, I was thinking about using some wood or something for the base, but I haven't seen any pics or anything else obvious. will post an update when finished.
  17. Quick question regarding kydex holsters, planning to make a couple for my M82 mags, but I was thinking, is it possible to do one side absolutely flat? thanks geoff and I know this could be classed as a necro, but I thought it would be more efficient than doing a new topic.
  18. have any of you been on the heretics facebook, I swear I've got a following even though I recognise maybe 2 of them, and I don't think even they have seen my face. I think I want to start the "Cult of Geoff"
  19. Combination, initially blaster Devils 0.25, then some aimpoint 0.28, and some Taiwan 0.2 same with problems with all of them.
  20. as some of you saw in the "what have you just bought" thread, I recently purchased a brand new CM.040 (taiwangun had it on offer for a short period of time so I cannot replace it). I wanted to leave it as stock as possible so the only thing I have done is change the connector to deans. for the first 6 hours (2-3000rds) it was working brilliantly, good range, mediocre ROF (using a 7.4v lipo), and very solid, but after about 3000rds, it started not hopping seemingly random rounds (getting worse as it was going), and then rounds seemed to be getting jammed in the barrel with it not firing for a period then blurting them all out, I was disabling and enabling the hop, and cleaning the barrel continuously, but still having the issue. I am asking this as there are relatively large amount of AK users with similar rifles who may have found easy fixes before I start stripping it down, I'm assuming it's something to do with the bucking but a visual inspection shows no issues. please help. thanks geoff
  21. combination of 1 of these for my gear (plate carrier etc) http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/mountain-equipment-wet-dry-kit-bag-140l-65110105?id_colour=3633 (albeit I bought mine several years ago) and 2 of these for guns and ancillaries http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152204649-Machine-gun-case-black.html and of course (as a disclaimer, the above is not mine, far too clean)
  22. valentina, CM040, with a PSO copy and a spare hi-cap, feels solid, and I like her, may end up fitting the UGL as a battery compartment and painting the furniture OD (a very dark OD)
  23. not to bad a heresy, but still a heresy, behold, Deirdre I actually really like the gun, started out as a Army R85, and the only thing holding her back is the lack of a magazine release guard.
  24. I'm looking for a set of MOLLE clips to attach my camelback to my plate carrier, but the only ones that look right come in MTP (I need black, OD or ATACS FG) this is the sort of thing I'm looking for http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-Issue-MTP-MOLLE-Clips-Fixing-for-Camelbak-Hydration-Osprey-Armour-/201207182896?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ed8e1f630
  25. the MAG ones will fit and work without modifications, it's just that they're that bit more snug with the tape around them.
