try heavier ammo first. don't change anything else, just put 0.25g BBs in it and notice the difference immediately. 0.20g ammo is frankly rubbish and only useful for chrono and extreme CQB where accuracy past 20' doesn't matter.

here's an example of home-brew full face that I was talking about earlier; ESS Profile goggles with a sansei type lower cable tied on, I've also covered mine in multi cam tape but paint is just as effective. If you go down that route though, block up all the vents in the bottom and remove all the foam from the side and top vents, otherwise all your hot moist breath will go straight up into the goggles and fog you out in seconds.

if you're on a hard £300 budget, DO NOT buy a pistol. You won't get enough use out of it to justify the £100 you'll need to spend to get a half decent one.

The second most expensive thing you buy should be your eye protection. Don't cheap out on it, cheap lenses will fog and be generally unpleasant to wear, especially if you're full face! Get a decent set of mil spec goggles and one of the sansei style full face masks you linked earlier. Remove the lower half of the sansei mask and cable tie it to the goggles. Voila, instant full face protection that you can rely on 100% to stop a BB and will be more resistant to fogging.

I can fill a 1961 pretty easily. I don't use high caps so 4-6 midcaps in 2-3 of the front pouches, 2 smokes in the other. Pistol in the right side radio pocket, radio in the left. 2 pea grenades in the grenade pockets, extra pea grenades in the left side utility/battery pouch, snacks and spare ammo in the right side utility. 2 pistol mags up front and a lens cleaning cloth inside one of the small pockets on the front of the magazine pouches. No belt-kit required, bottle of water in a trouser pocket or a 1.5l bladder inside the lining of the rig if it's going to be a hot day. If I'll be out for longer than 3-4 hours I'll attach a pack to the back of it with a 3l bladder and various other bits and bobs to make life more comfortable :-) That'll generally do me for a 3-4 hour game, top stuff up if needed at lunchtime and out for the same again in the afternoon. As for the chimp wearing a chest rig with nothing on it... Some people are just special! I understand entirely that a couple of high caps and a bottle of water will 'do', but that's just not how I roll. I don't fill the pouches for the sake of filling them, everything I carry in a pouch has a use and if I find I'm not using it it gets ditched!

For woodland I reckon every player should have the option of trying an LBT 1961 pattern rig at least once. Zero molle but so much carrying capacity it's unreal. I will never sell my 1961G, it's such a good 'one stop shop' chest rig that I honestly don't think I'll ever get a better rig for a long day in the woods.

37 is pretty small for a plate carrier, anything which takes a small or medium plate should be ok. A 6094a will be adjustable enough to fit you.

It's a real trijicon RMR, no amount of beating a GBB can put out will break it. Plenty of guys in the States mount them on 9mm and .45 pistols.

450fps with a metal BB is still not exactly a lethal firearm though, a 9mm pistol for example is typically 1100-1300fps and that's with a seriously heavy bullet (7.5grammes approx for 9mm FMJ). For those who can't be bothered with the maths, that's about 570 joules at the top end. I should caveat that by saying that a 9mm is actually a fairly low energy firearm, the british SA80 (or L85 as you lot insist on calling it!) has a muzzle velocity of nearly 3100fps, with the 4.1g 5.56x45mm NATO bullet it fires. That's 1,767 joules and 5.56 NATO has received some criticism for not having enough stopping power in combat. Don't get me wrong, it'd hurt like hell and definitely break the skin, but as far as piercing bone and doing actual internal damage? No chance. In short, NO, your airsoft gun would NOT cut it in the zombie apocalypse, regardless of how big a spring you put in it.

Most serious milsim in the uk at the moment is Tier 1, no saluting or ranks there, same for stirling.

why would money be an issue for that? lots of sites operate vehicles. My old local used to run a variation of this game pretty much every time, it'd be the last game of the day and 3 players would be nominated as 'pilots', they'd have pistols only and would need to make their way from one end of the site to the other, via a point which only they and the marshals knew, without being captured.

with that you'll need any PTT designed for a motorola 1 pin. If you're after a 'military style' headset, then you're really looking at chinese clone stuff, real deal comms gear is expensive and particular about what it'll work with. The PTT Mr B linked will work fine with your radio, any headset with a TP120 (sometimes called military) plug will fit into it, I'd recommend sticking with z-tactical as their headsets are pretty decent, don't get their knockoff Sordins or Comtacs though, they're arse.
