  1. Those things also restrict your breath so they will get damp and also hot'n'sweaty in the summer, maybe even during cold weather if you move a lot / sweat a lot...
  2. Yeah, the E&L Owners and Appreciation group on fb is the place to go for this info. But the way I see it is this: to get top performance from any AEG takes a good bit of tweaking and a few upgrades, so there really isn't any reason to buy the more expensive E&L if you are the sort of person who will do what's necessary, because you'll be replacing the inner barrel, hop rubber, air seal nozzle, shims, motor, wiring & connectors and very possibly the piston head & piston anyway...
  3. Tell you what gentlemen, if anyone on here who has had an RIF seized and destroyed by RM, if it was not a gas gun with a mag with the valve fitted (ie just any old AEG), wants to sue, I for one would be willing to donate a few quid towards their legal expenses.
  4. Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies runs something similar. Without having tried it myself, I'd tend to agree with Hef: PDI 6.01mm barrel and the softest rubber you can find - either a Prometheus Purple or maybe look into one of those 40 deg rubbers they were selling on ehobbyasia.com and yeah, I'd probably go for R-Hop too, set up for .28g BB Bastards. + Wrap the forward part of the rubber in PTFE tape to get as tight a seal between the barrel, hop chamber, and rubber. & Use a very good piston head O-Ring - Lees Precision Engineering are good (they have an eBay shop) + plenty of CT-2 Teflon grease on the O-ring and inside of cylinder (£4/50g search fleabay) Adding weight to the gun also increases its inertia, which ought to improve accuracy by lessening involuntary movement while pulling the trigger...
  5. I dunno about this... I mean, yeah, obviously... but considering some of the decisions they've made during production from 3 onwards, i just find myself fearing the worst
  6. I've got a couple of half hearted attempts at airsoft playlists on yt. This is the best, but it needs to be recompiled: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDiaPlcOYc0Xfg8AFT3H1cEM6MA___nQ8 TBH anything by VNV Nation does it...
  7. There's a lad rides to Skirmish, Budby, who often brings a pillion and they put their gear in a massive sports bag on the pillion's back. They bring more than 1 AEG each + a full size springer shotgun sticking out of the bag with covers over the protruding barrels, plus at least as much gear as I bring (which isn't exactly stripped down stylee) - they do wear most of their kit under their waterproofs mind.
  8. Yeah, that sounds like a good diagnosis. Dismantling seems to be the only way forward... On mine, when the stock is unlatched, the bit of the catch which sticks through the receiver on the right hand side is almost flush. On yours it seems to stick out a bit and at an angle. The only way i can imagine that happening is if it is either damaged inside, or the spring is not fitted properly.
  9. Bulgarian AK sling - $18.99 posted ~riomar6 Soviet Tourniquet & Bandage - $14.00 posted ~ dodgers_ru also bought a Prowin AK hop chamber, a posh AK Selector Plate & Lonex Cylinder for £22 posted from a geezer on fb I already have a PDI barrel & Palsonite cylinder earmarked for my E&L AKS-74, so the hop chamber is for that, as well as the sling and 1st Aid tackle - the other bits are for my Franken-AK build which has been on the back burner... Just found out i've been refunded for the berezka sweat shirt i bought grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! None of my size in stock, but i would have taken a size 54 if she had asked. Too late now, she's posted the rain suit i ordered at the same time already, so double grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Forgot about intending to get a different type of Turnigy Nano Tech LiPo - the 11.1V 25-50C 1200mAh instead of my usual choice which is their 1300mAh, so i remedied that from hobbyking.com £16.47 posted from the Netherlands - the decision is down to the size: the 1300 is 18x18mm but wider including the bump where the cable joins, but the 1200 is listed as 16x19mm which may make it easier to fit under an AK top cover; if so I'll have to get a few more...
  10. That does look dodgy. It looks like the spring that holds the latch isn't working properly, but that said, my spring feels fine but nonetheless it is possible to force the button to jam by pressing it in too far - it comes out again without much trouble, but maybe yours is jamming too? If jiggling it doesn't make it align properly you might try some oil...
  11. Yeah. My advice is to get oil in a dropper bottle not a spray can so you can apply exactly as much as you need, exactly where you need it, rather than it going all over in an aerosol...
  12. I find it useful to put a single drop of silicone oil down the BB tube of mid/low cap mags and then fill them as full as i can possibly get them. I do not fire those 1st BB's, just let them out by poking the spring catch, then fill the mag again with the same BB's and let them out again - do this a few times more to get a very thin coating of oil all the way through the mag and work the spring a bit, because they usually do not hold as many BB's as advertised when brand new.

  15. Soviet Russian Army Gloves - £12 posted ~ ostojaostroga on fleabay (I don't like the ones with the red side I bought a few weeks ago - they're not at all easy to wear, so i'm trying these) Soviet Russian Mabuta Cap 58cm - £14.99 posted ~ cosmixx_one on fleabay 3 x pairs of hand warmers - £3.49 posted ~ car-parts-stop on fleabay + & 1 x grenade & 2 x pistol mag pouches - £16.87 posted from ...kmnw-tactical closing down sale
  16. KMNW Tactical eBay shop closing down sale - plenty of decent quality generic molle pouches going cheap.
  17. It's such a shame that, so far, all the zenitco extendible stock replicas are sooooo expensive. The length of the stock is the one thing about many AK's which doesn't quite fit to my body - strangely enough the under folding AKS-47 stock is the only one which does fit my arms comfortably without a butt pad. Nonetheless, whatever additional comfort could be gained by an extendible stock, a Crane stock looks so out of place on an AK that I can't go there. I do think that the extendible LR300 stock would look fine though; I mean it's not as if i'm just so antiseptic that i can't think clearly I've been planning to try it out for a long time and, with any luck, my meds may change again soon, which may give me enough pain relief to get on with project builds again, maybe even get back in the field, so I hope it wont be too long before we'll have a chance to see one from me... Having said that, if a deal comes together for The Bolsheviks team, I'll be buying a new Meister Arms AKS-74MN (which is a rebadged gen 1 E&L) and my plan for that is full zenit...

  19. No idea about spares, mate. I'm pretty sure that it isn't the pin that causes the problem - i mean, it'd have to be such an obvious flaw, ie being too thin, for it to be the pin at fault - surely the manufacturer would have sussed and sorted it out? I spose you'd be able to tell on your own gun though - does it wobble when the stock is unlocked from the catch, when it's just the pin holding it? I've just checked my E&L and it's rock solid, but it also seems unlikely that the bit of the stock which locks with the catch could become bent, or the catch itself - i'd imagine that the welds holding the stock together would fail first, so i dunno, maybe the pin on yours is moody...
  20. I think the only way forward is to change either the catch or the bit of the stock it locks past. It depends on which make you have though whether you could do that by bending part of the stock, or whether you'd need to actually replace something.
  21. Tac Ak's can be great, it's just Crane stocks on 'em which are horrible!
  22. PT is right if the inner barrel reaches to the end of the suppressor. However if there is even a centimetre of gap between the end of the inner barrel and the muzzle, then the size of the suppressor and how much of it is open to air movement (ie not full of foam or completely blocked by something which stabilises the inner barrel) will affect the sound of the shot. In theory at least a wider suppressor will give you more potential for noise cancellation due to out of phase reverberation. That said, the effect is not at all pronounced...
  23. Up to you... I'll take them if you don't want them, but if you'd rather not lose out on the postage and keep 'em yourself to spray, that's cool too.
  24. Well, if I pay cost, ie what they would cost including shipping, then that gives you your money back. But you'll have to pay the postage to me from your gaff, because obviously I'm not going to pay more than what I could get them for from gunfire.pl myself, eh...
