I've seen those frames on WGC, they're only a few dozen bucks. For some reason they just decided to call that scroll-work style 'Ivory', bit stupid in the modern age I think given certain things, but the name could just be a translation issue. You couldn't make something as thin as a Glock frame out of actual Ivory anyway, it'd break before you could even assemble the internals let alone fire it.

Certainly unique. That much is for sure.

On a basic level, just a TM S70 Nickel then google "1911 grips dollar bills" and find some you like the look of. Not sure there's any outside the states so postage may cost a bit, I've not searched extensively. I've swapped the inner barrel for a tightbore that colour-matched (rather than the stock brass one) and added the extended spring guide rod for extra bling factor, but that's just an extra detail and only really effects the look when the slide's locked back.

Second time today I've seen blue DPM, where's it coming from? -
VFC SR-16 upper re-threaded to proper RS specs. ALG Defense barrel nut installed along with the barrel and gas block/tube, all nice and straight and secure. Just need a new muzzle device to properly cover the inner (since it's slightly longer than the outer) and I can finally finish this build. It's taken ages since there was originally a VFC URX II on there which consist of a primary barrel nut, the rail itself which screws on to the threads that are on the outside of said barrel nut, then another outer-barrel securing nut. All 3 parts were torqued to insane values way beyond what's needed for airsoft and while there is a proprietary tool available to remove the outer barrel nut, there is no tool on the airsoft market for the tiny little primary nut or the actual rail. Took a lot of improvisation to get the damn thing apart so as to switch the forend.

Suitable under armour shirt and trousers.
TheFull9 replied to Berto's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Of the dozens of different brands and models I've owned, the british issued combat shirt has proven the most practical and comfortable for airsoft use. They're available in MTP and dessie DPM for absolute peanuts on eBay; best bang for your buck by a long stretch to my mind. Getting a higher quality trouser that'll accept internal foam padding around the knees is generally cheaper and easier than trying to get something Crye style. Anything sold by tactical-kit or hueys should be good and you're well covered if they should happen to fail you unduly quickly. -

I probably am. Of the female players I've known/met/seen, I've yet to see a single one with a 1911, it's not a very popular platform these days. I've seen a few lads with pink M4s but nobody else with super-fabulous sidearms to match (which is the way I like to roll). With the wide availability of cheap Glocks and M&Ps the striker-fired guns have taken over mostly, whereas when I started airsoft everyone had 1911s, Hi-Capas, 226s and M9s with a few TM and KSC Glocks floating around, but the M&P was just a twinkle in TM's eye at that point. It makes sense for the G17s etc to be popular because they are the most practical, a fact that very much mirrors the RS world. But yeah, not much market for ladies' 1911 accessories. -

Here you go - http://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/p27441/FMA-Hand-Grip-for-1911-&-MEU-GBB-(Spade-Pattern,-Pink)/product_info.html They call it 'spades' but I'm just ignore that and pretend they're little hearts for extra silly factor. -

Occasionaly I have to buy actual airsoft stuff in order to actually be able to play the game. Needs must. G&P URX Tool 4 x SOCOM Gear Lancer L5 mid-caps Cheap 'sansei' type mask for the lower portion CORE TM G17 spring sets 1911 grips the same shape as the Magpul ones, but these knock-offs have lots of little hearts to make up the grip texture -

To my eye, the OD in that picture stands out a lot more than the multicam. -
I was speaking to the thread generally, trying to clarify the mis-understandings some people were having; not at you specifically. That's why I didn't quote you.

That is exactly what they do, I know people who've had pistols seized and destroyed along with their mags even when said mag was utterly emptied out. If it can contain gas at pressure, you're taking a risk sending it. Might not be the situation in this case ofc, but it's a definite possibility.

ebay's latest policy which will affect us airsofters
TheFull9 replied to sp00n's topic in General Discussion
There's a guy on Arnies who manufacturers and retails certain items who reported on this, had a lot of his listings taken down for all sorts of utterly harmless RIF parts. Retarded policy. Carried over from US ebay I believe, whether it was their own decision or bowing to government pressure to limit the firearm industry in back-alley ways without actually getting proper legislation passed... no idea. Don't want to start a gun debate either. I personally didn't go to eBay for airsoft specific stuff anyway (not since eHobby was still an ebay store back in about '06) but it's certainly a shame given the insane shipping prices a lot of the UK airsoft retailers charge; eBay's always been hand when you just need that one little thing. Now that avenue's been diminished for no reason and nobody's any safer or benefited in any way. -
Right... There is (or certainly was) an issued single point 'sling'. It's more of a connection point than a sling because it's just a small strap that connects from the rear sling point of the rifle straight to PALS webbing (for usage with Osprey). However in terms of connection to the weapon it is for all intents and purposes, a single point. I'm not sure if it's still issued and I've not seen it used much, but there's plenty of pictures from afghan of people using them in recent years. The problem with that rear sling point on the rifle taking the entire weight is that it's now hanging from your vest i.e. your shoulders instead of your arms doing any of the work. Which can be an good amount of weight if you've got a rail, grip-pod, 4x optic and loaded mag on there (for starters). So it's best to use either the old issued 3-point, or if you want something that's actually good, get a quick adjustable 2-point. The other huge plus for a 2-point being the with a single the rifle will hang far too low and always dead vertical so if (for example) you switch to your pistol and want to kneel/squat or do anything else, you'll probably get a muzzle full of mud. Something like a Blue Force Gear VCAS (or any sling that works the same way) provides the exact same functionality as the issued 3-point, is far quicker and easier to adjust from a patrolling/standing to a fighting position, doesn't require learning some stupid basket weaving to attach it, is available in padded versions in all sorts of colours and patterns and most importantly doesn't have a retarded 3rd strap that sits against the TMH and does a superb job of hindering access to both the mag catch and bolt release button.
-
The possibility that immediately springs to mind is that the postal service has seized the package, as has happened quite a lot with GBB pistol sales in recent times. Gas containers are on the prohibited items list for sending through the post and they've been cracking down on gas mags for airsoft. Did you send it via the post office? If so, there's very much a chance they've taken both the gun and the mag as for some reason they have this horrendously shitty policy of taking (and eventually destroying) everything in a package that includes a gas mag, even though there's nothing wrong with sending the RIF itself.
-
Get yourself on eBay, when you need small amounts of material supplies like velcro, tape, batteries, zip ties, small tools etc etc it's the easiest way to get hold of stuff. Should be able to find some 3M branded high strength sticky-backed stuff that'll stay put.

The Warrior RICAS is a repro so we've got some kinda gear clone-ception going on there. Handy when these circumstances crop up though. Remember people, unless you're minted don't have kids - Cuts in to pew-pew-action money. -
Upgrades to allow a Combat Machine to fit a LiPo
TheFull9 replied to CommonComrade's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
OP doesn't make a lot of sense to me, is the problem fitment or function? As mentioned, a 7.4 will be fine. If the issue is physical space then we need more details of the gun, but if it can fit a NiMh somewhere it'll definitely fit just about any airsoft lipo. -
I think if nobody ever came across from FPS games to airsoft... there'd be no airsoft. Certainly nowhere near its' current state. Plus it took a lot of lobbying to get our VCRA exemption, if the sport wasn't as big as it is (/was back in 06) there wouldn't have been the people to do that lobbying and all we'd have now is paintball.
-
Nobody can answer that for you, it's a preference. Performance will probably be slightly better than a lower-mid range gun, but the entire system of hop units can only do so much and the recoil guns shoot at a comparably low FPS in stock form. If you think the recoil/blowback and bolt lock are worth the money to you then go for it. If not, don't.
-
Systemas aren't anything massively special in stock form, certainly not range/accuracy wise; they don't perform impossible feats of physics defying-ness that no other AEG can perform. Its' highly debated and there are many arguments and defendants on both sides, some say the hop unit they use is a lot worse than your average V2 AEG, some say otherwise. Either way, the range and accuracy you'll get from a TM that's less than half the price of a PTW will certainly be at least very close, if not potentially much better. Not as good trigger response, but that can be improved on down the line if you really find the stock gun so lacking in that respect and use a lot of semi. Plus you get blowback and recoil with a much more tactile bolt catch on the TM guns. Though PTWs do of course have that really easy quick swap cylinder which is nice. The 416 is one of the best options for a recoil gun if you're shooting lefty; AFAIK it's the only AR style recoil gun with ambi selectors. Bolt release is only on the left side of the gun though and that can't be changed, not sure if any ambi mag releases will fit. The SCAR has ambi mag release, only 1 side for the bolt release. The G36s have no bolt catch/stop on empty and both the selectors and mag release are ambi.

That's not what the law says though. Ticking gift doesn't mean much, you're only exempt import VAT if the value declared (for the items and shipping combined) is less than £15 and customs believe it. What matters is how much the store you buy from fudges the value on the paperwork; also how much the particular customs person checking your package that day actually cares to question it.
