lul.. what? Show me your evidence please because that is a ridiculous assertion. I've been to the states and taken classes from ex US mil/LE guys; the sort of 2nd amendment lovers who want nothing to do with the government. I can tell you for a fact the registration forms very much did not get sent off to any 'official' body or government organisation.

As I said, there's a ton of ex military (SF and otherwise) already out there teaching stuff. If you want to worry about shutting gates behind already bolted horses that's your personal choice, but I'd recommend finding something to worry about where you actually have an inkling of a chance of making a difference. Also if you think the techniques the militaries of the world use are the most deadly/efficient ones, you're very much ignorant of the facts.

I have plate carrier setups that weight a lot less than the chest rigs many people run. This airsoft myth that weight is defined by equipment type needs to die.. it should've already (a long time ago). The weight and bulk of your load bearing equipment depends entirely on which rig you buy, the materials used in it, types of pouches you attach, the way those pouches are constructed and most importantly, above anything else, the equipment you put in those pouches. Sure if you don't want anything on your back and aren't bothered about the coverage then don't get a PC, it's a few extra grams of cordura you don't need; but that picture you've used gives a rather biased impression. If the weight of fabrics is a concern I wouldn't buy a combat shirt either. If the wearer is worried about coverage then standard PCS/BDU shirts that don't have the t-shirt material in the body are the better standard option, especially when not wearing a PC. Though either one is preferable to a hoody if you don't wanna swim in your own sweat, doubly so as the weather begins to warm up.

Unfortunately, for £150 you could've gotten a decent and skirmishable gun. What you have there isn't up to task really. Ignore all these absurd made up names and as a general rule avoid any shop with BB guns in the name. Decent retailers like Land Warrior Airsoft and Airsoft Zone generally only carry guns that are of a basic skirmish standard as a minimum, you'll rarely see them with junk LPEGs (low power electric guns - the 'bb gun' crap that's only of any real use for simple home plinking). Your chances aren't particularly good if you use what you've got at a game. As mentioned, maybe at a real close CQB site then yeah your range will be sufficient. Woods/urban/outdoors in general... you'll have to learn to be the greatest airsoft ninja there ever was and get well within the ranges of everyone else before you're able to shoot them back.

Why? There's tons of companies out there already that train civvie shooters and airsofters in all sorts of things. A blunt chisel is more dangerous than a sharp one; an untrained person is far more of a liability than a trained/experienced one, in airsoft and shooting.

Never heard of Raid described as a snow camo. Far as I'm aware none of it physically exists yet to test and it's awful grey for that purpose to my mind. Also the Yeti pattern that Kryptek make as a specific snow camo seems a lot better suited.

Ok... well in your one case clearly the Fobus was on the small end of the tolerance bracket and your Glock (which I'm assuming was WE?), must've been at the large end of the tolerance bracket. When you take two items from companies that produce things in vast quantities at comparatively low prices, these things will happen. The fact remains that what I said is true, if you don't buy the holster for the larger sized RS Glock your TM/WE/other off-size airsoft RIF will have almost zero chance of fitting, whereas with the larger holster there's a good chance. It's always a weigh-up of probabilities in airsoft because this stuff isn't life-saving critical and the manufacturers build it as such. There's never any 100% guarantee of anything actually being compatible with anything else that it should be compatible with.

The WE is a copy of the TM and the TM is a bit larger than the RS G17. With hard/moulded holsters you need something designed for the Glock 20/21 (which are the standard full-size Glocks in 10mm and .45 respectively) to fit certain airsoft G17s.

The important thing, imo, is to work towards doing what you actually would enjoy spending your life doing. If you get good enough at it (whatever it is), you will certainly making a living and hopefully end up earning enough for luxuries like spending a fair bit of money on hobbies, rather than just scraping by. Depending on what it is you really enjoy there are many paths to get there, you've got to figure out which is the best and which one you'll stick to in the long run. My trade within the air force covers a very wide range of different aspects and actually getting to work on the one you want can take many, many years in the job and that's on top of all the entrance tests and the time in training etc at the start. Toughing it out through some rather crappy times means I have a decent income now so that's all fine and dandy, but I don't earn that money through the exact sort of work I really want to be doing, not quite anyway, though it's not too far off so I'm pretty happy overall. The end goal is to get to the stage where I'm getting paid to do something I wouldn't even necessarily call 'work'. It was very bandwagon-cool for many airsofters (with no knowledge or experience to backup their hating) to slam on Travis Haley and Chris Costa at every opportunity, back when Magpul was really popular in the hobby. They both went through the military (in different ways), went from that to the firearms industry, then teaching firearms handling in a big company, then did well enough to be hugely popular all over the world such that they could break off and form their own companies. Now they literally get given more ammo than they could ever shoot for completely free and just have to mention certain companies every now and again. The same way big singers and actors get gifted hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clothes and jewelry and whatever else literally just to potentially be seen wearing them in public; these guys get given guns and gear and bloody night vision goggles and whatever super tacticool widget their hearts could possibly desire.. gratis. Stuff that many airsofters would splurge their pants over the thought of maybe owning; these guys aren't even that fussed about any more.

I don't wanna buy Typhon, because I want Raid and I know as soon as I buy a set of Typhon uniform they'll release the stuff I actually want the day after. But then I see a picture and I end up on the UR-Tac or Vertx sites feeling very tempted...

I'm most impressed with the RealTree office chair. I can't own that sort of thing as if anyone ever came in to my room in the barrack block and saw it I'd not stop hearing about it until the actual day I die.

Not an inconsiderable amount. It's made in the UK = £££. Rather not post those sort of numbers publicly but if you just e-mail their customer services they'll get straight back to you with a spreadsheet listing out all their prices.

It depends on the features one wants and how much said person wants to spend. I've got a Crye JPC here that a friend lent me and it's a nice, light little rig, but to my mind it has a lot of disadvantages and he's selling it to pay for the FirstSpear/SKD STT PC he just bought to upgrade from it. I don't wanna list out a load of bad points because it'll seem like bashing, but comparing it to the PCs I have now and the many I've owned and used over the years I don't find it to be particularly great personally. What it was, was innovative and at the time it was released it was waaaay ahead of the game and really set a standard (as crye did with the combat shirt), but right now, it's quite a bit behind the leading manufacturers technology and design wise. Does that really matter in airsoft? No of course, but there are better options on the market, IMHO. There are plenty out there which will size down tight and I'm only a 34-35" chest on a fat day so I've gone through many, many PCs to find ones that fit over the last 7 years or so. The bulk/drawing from a belt issue is down to pouch placement primarily, but again, plenty of other options on the market which are low profile and won't get in the way of your belt mounted kit while having various other advantageous features as well. If people like 'em then that's cool, there are far, far worse designs about and compared to the Mk4 Ospreys I see so often in game I'd recommend the JPC to anyone every time. But again, different strokes as always.

-Arktis 'Ranger Trouser' and Hot Climate UBACS -LBX Combat shirt Filling some gaps in my collection that've needed sorting for years. The colours came out a bit off vs reality in the shirt pictures, but the main body on the Arktis shirt is rather close to white for some weird reason (though the material itself is ideal for purpose so I can't complain too much). The LBX ranger green is pretty much exactly on for Crye's ranger green, which is nice.

Just highlighting some different ways to look at things is all. More people always lurk forums than post on them, so pointing out these things can be at least useful to a lot of folks. I don't wanna tell anyone what sort of loadout they should run end of the day, but I don't think it ever hurts to give people more different potential options for potential consideration (apart from just the common ones seen online that is).

I would say 'might as well' is probably an under-statement in that context.

I should highlight first that it's your money and you can do whatever you please, but if you don't like it, then why buy one? Unlike being in the military, the beauty of airsoft is you can wear whatever the hell you like, the only thing that's a requirement is some decent eye pro. Again, you can run whatever gear you like, but your current way of approaching things makes no sense to me personally. You come across as if you feel somehow obliged or required to copy real life SF gear. I don't wanna hate on that idea because it's obviously popular these days and people can dress however they like, but it's really, really far from the only way of doing things.

Well.. why do you think all those SEALs and SF and super leet ninjas use them for real world, getting-shot-with-real-bullets kinda stuff? Personally, I think that because JPC is designed for jumping and seeing as you're probably not doing a HALO in to airsoft, then there's better options in terms of PCs which don't make certain compromises related to parachute ops. However if one wants the look of the JPC then obviously there's only that option. Though where you're seeing one for £160 I don't know as Tactical-Kit is asking £260 for the Crye original and that's quite the price gap.

I'd be pretty doubtful that they'd work properly. The kydex inserts in a single mag pouch are tight on a STANAG and designed to work with that specific profile. If I recall right the G36 PMAGs step up quite a bit thicker in the area that sits in the mag well? You could probably force them in to the ESSTAC pouches with a lot of 'friendly persuasion' but they'll likely be an absolute pig to get in and out overall. The 762 versions of the pouches might be a bit better but overall they're not designed for mags that aren't straight sided. They build stuff for the US market and that mostly means accommodating STANAG spec 556 mags and straight sided stuff like SCAR-H/SR-25 type mags in the .308 realm. AUGs, G36s etc are a tiny share of the market compared to guns that take your average PMAGs/USGI mags etc.

I am jelly of all the kydex pouches, nice rig. Got a triple panel with them being made up for my PC at the moment (ordered it about a month ago) but it's still a few weeks out at least. Think I'll have to pick up some of the ESSTAC pouches soon as well.

My part-custom concoction of a modular PC all decked out. About as close to an 'ideal' design as I've gotten so far, pretty close really, I'll make a few changes with the next version (whenever the manufacturers in question get the right materials in) but I've used the rig as pictured at a couple of games and it works a treat all round.

The SRS probably seemed to 'appear' as Trijicon only released the real one a couple of years ago. Most of the Aimpoints and EoTechs we're all used to seeing have been around since before many folks started airsofting, whereas the SRS has come out since AFAIK. Didn't take the cloners long to start copying them either. Where have you guys picked yours up? If it's anything like the various ELCAN Spectre copies out there there might be multiple factories making copies and the quality of the one you get varies by the retailer you buy from. Not surprising at the mall. Once you take range (and full auto) essentially out of the equation, I find mag capacity makes almost no difference. I used nothing more than a 1911 last time I played there, probably did the best performance wise that I ever have.
