This is something I've wondered about since personally I don't like the look and general function of the TM adapter but I love tri-lug mounting for silencers (not knocking anyone using the TM piece just not my baG). I think it's probably a safe bet that at least a couple of companies will be coming out with cans specifically for this release and potentially threaded tri-lug muzzle devices that can be applied to other guns to then use said cans.

I've got one of these on order from WGC so that's handy to know in advance.

Why that exists I don't know. Some things science can't explain.

As George say, I wouldn't say it looks like anything from Modlite. There are many replicas of the 720 around e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001498949156.html Which ones are actually any good I have zero idea. Less than zero. You'd probably have to find a facebook group of people doing loadouts based on very niche replications of certain US military folks from specific time periods.

Out of the fire; the L119A1 Phoenix rises!

Sorreh aboot the the fire eh -
Does just look like coincidence to me. 99% of airsofters have no interest in RIFs replicating firearm features that are designed to comply with specific US firearms laws, especially when it comes to the 1994 'AWB'. Brace replicas are floating around out there but they're actually relevant now and very very prevalent on the GunTube channels a lot of players probably watch.

Don't point your gun where it shouldn't be pointed and you'll almost certainly always be just fine. Applies to TM G19 Gen4s, and literally every other RIF.

Advice please-cheap but good 5.56 fast mag pouches
TheFull9 replied to Oneshotscott's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
8 single speed pouches is an odd setup. I'd advocate buying 2 or 3 good quality pouches with fast access, then mount them in the easiest to reach places on your kit and stock them up from any simpler/slower/flapped/shingle pouches you have when time permits. Magazine/ammunition management is an important skill for real guys doing real shit and this is how they do things and you're not going to be in that intense of a fight in airsoft you don't have time to shuffle a couple of mags around. I've done this for all my loadouts for pushing a decade, works great, reloads are always on point. Fuck Nuprol in general irrespective of whether any given product happens to be a rare example of something in their product line that's not turd. -
It's a good question I pondered myself for years, because all you had on the market for a long time was 'standard' TM, WE and KWA etc costing in the 100-150 region, or super custom limited batches of steel guns costing more like a grand and usually aren't much use. More display pieces than anything. The main way to get a more realistic and higher quality (but still useful) Glock for example has been generally to take a TM base and add many and various upgrades yourself both inside and out. I'm no expert in that field though as you hear many, many a tale of woe from people attempting to go down such a path. The best candidate in this arena right now is the GHK Glock 17. Costs about as much as a real G17 in the US but I don't know of any other GBB pistol in the ~500 area you can take out of the box and comes as close to the real thing. May be some others I'm not aware of but the GHK is the only option I know of right now and it seems very compelling from the reviews I've seen. I think if you're a VT AR fan it's the kind of sidearm you'd probably like.

Good face pro is the only thing entirely necessary to get involved in an airsoft game. Well done on looking past the pile of shiny bullshit all stores constantly push on the player base and focusing on what matters (by far) the most. If you maintain the same mindset as you continue on in the hobby you'll find you spend almost no down time in the safe zone or not going to games you wanted to attend because your guns and/or gear have failed you; a problem endemic to all sorts of players both new and seasoned on many occasions. -

Greater magazine capacity, an extra point of contact and massively improved ergonomic control of the muzzle end of the weapon adds up to a lower probability of hits on target? Weird maths tbh. Standard pistols are excellent for super small CQB sites, but as soon as you extend the range much at all my personal experience would say to me that those features will all pay big dividends. An actual AEG like an MP5k (especially the PDW) does make more sense as soon as the games go beyond a certain (fairly short) time frame, but the weight difference between an airsoft pistol and one in a carbine kit is pretty damn negligible to say the least. I found it had minimal impact if any on how quick I could run about when I owned one. -
2nd google result, or is this not the right type? https://www.zib-militaria.de/G3-collapsible-stock-HK

There is a slim chance it'll be a weird thing like the G&G AK handguard battery, but Sig Air hasn't done anything like that so far afaik.

Spiritus sent over some new stuff. Their sling isn't my favourite one but if you want a 2-point it is very good no doubt. The new JSTA is interesting and makes a lot of sense for real dude-bros but I put it on my belt in place of my usual mag pouches and I'm not sure if I'll stick with it yet; the bit at the back for inserts is great for a rifle and pistol mag for quick reloads, but there's nothing else I really need to put in the rest of the pouch space. Might have to do some thinking and maybe move it around. -
I don't think there is an electric M4 with a straight up vertical pistol grip, closest you'll get is either fitting a BCM grip replica or getting one of the VFC licensed BCM AEGs. Some of the new ARES X-class are pretty vertical but.. ARES. The other way is to move the pistol grip further from you in the form of absolutely any bullpup or extending your AR stock. Can always put the stock over your shoulder for those close encounters, perfectly legitimate technique even with real guns with real recoil. Between the most vertical grip angle you can get away with in a V2 GB and a longer stock you'd probably feel more comfortable, can always go with a real short barrel too since those make very little difference with bbs. VFC MP7 is a good mention and ticks the boxes but they're not super well designed inside from what I've seen. It's a super tricky set of boxes to actually tick in a full blooded AEG, hopefully someone else can think up something.

Long as your PC has loop velcro on the belly area and a pair of 1" female buckles (or slots/loops to attach buckles) you'll be alright it's an industry standard. Some other brands use G-Hooks but you're unlikely to make that mistake; only tricky one I know of is LBX because they use 3/4" buckles for some stupid reason instead of 1" like everybody else, so an easy mistake to make.

The phrase 'reports of my demise have been exaggerated' springs to mind. Not throwing any accusations by any stretch and if I'm wrong I'm wrong, but in my opinion based on being an airsoft nerd for a long time I think we'd see a lot of viral raging and fearmongering all over the internet if these issues were really prevalent.

Issue CS95 smocks (presume that's what you mean) will stave off but the lightest of showers, they just get soaked in short order and being bulky things made of thick fabric they soak up a lot of water; take about a day to dry once hung up in a warm house. Cotton is not wicking, it is the opposite, it holds water for a comparatively very long time and is especially cold when wet compared to wool or synthetics. Being soaked is fine if it's warm enough and/or you run around enough. Being soaked through will ruin you in cool enough weather if you're not pretty consistently on the move. This is all real real basic stuff. Personally I really like the current issue polyester tshirts they dry lightning fast. Issue goretex can usually be had really cheaply and at a tiny fraction of the price of any commercial goretex jacket. But obviously anything waterproof like a poncho will be a lot better than any issued uniforms in standard fabrics.

New TM. Eventually I'll sort some type of gucci US civvie build, for now I've got an HK F stock on the way and will probably get a real standard plastic handguard too for this original look. Wanted the SF 628 but oh lord no not for that much; may just get a GBB lighted forend. For now, just that HK aesthetic.

Never thought I'd have to setup an email alert and jump right on it like some Supreme hypebeast shit for an airsoft product. -
which mags fit the G&G AEG L85 AFV with ETU??
TheFull9 replied to RT2235's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I'd imagine any half decent brand of 556 mag will be alright, but I'll let any G&G SA80 owners chime in. I like MAG, TM, G&P and PTS for magazines. Nuprol is a garbage rebrand outfit where everything is of unknown origin and it's all cheap - roll the dice every time. Just a heads up. -
If you're only going to have 1 belt and if there will be times where your upper garment covers your waist area and you can't tuck in then obviously you can't use your belt loops, which is why a chest rig or a webbing type setup is good as you throw them on top of anything. Whether a simple military type of thick belt will bounce around on you without using belt loops will depend on the belt type, how much weight you put on it and where precisely you wear it. The materials of the belt and your clothing and your body shape will all dictate the amount of friction and hence the potential movement of a belt that's not anchored in place and nobody here can predict the end result given all the different factors. The MLE really is right around the lowest end of the budget spectrum in terms of what's actually good, especially since you'll need a modular rig to mount a holster and pistol mag pouches; common old school mil surplus is pretty much all setup for rifles because wars aren't fought with handguns. Surplus UK issued MTP pouches are cheap and you can just add some over time, get 1 or 2 a month type thing. The next cheapest thing down is to get just a surplus issue PLCE belt, they're mega cheap, tough as old boots and you can bodge together a rig and then tighten the whole thing around your waist (your actual waist narrow point not your hips) and it'll wobble a little bit for sure but will work. Securely retaining your pistol and mags will largely come down to using a decent holster and pouches more than the belt.
