😂 yep, will now have to use it like that on one of my PCs (somehow.. will take some re-jigging and not on this rig) with some tape over it
-
Since I put this on reddit and people thought the holster was actually upside-down on the back of the PC; no it's just a QD system, it goes on the belt.. like a non-insane human being.
-
That was a rapido turnaround.

Personally I do find these days that a little slot to safely keep phone, wallet and car keys behind a few mids is all I need ha, nice one mate and appreciate the faith in a comparatively new product thanks for showcasing it. Good choice of harness, solid little setup.

You're probably thinking "what the heck is this half-a-job you're posting here man??" and that's quite understandable 😂 Many years ago I decided I wanted to do just 1 built of a regular V2 AR AEG that was pretty much tip-top, about as good as possible, or as good as I could get anyway. Spreading the cost over years and only buying the best parts as and when they were available. At first I thought I'd begun around 5 years ago, turns out after checking my e-mail archives that I bought the receiver set May 2016 and the handguard way back in July 2015 (which was the starting component as best I can recall). First I got those key externals together, then sent them off to a machinist/tech work buddy probably a little before the rona happened. He finished off the gearbox/hop and inner assembly and I collected the base just last week in order to finish off the last few little outside bits that I can competently do myself.. maybe. Though they're some of the trickiest as this is an actual (Jaws music): scratch build. Not sure how many other people might've seen this particular RIF being offered before, but this whole gun uses the same receiver set and as depicted I have the same pistol grip, but I wanted my own choice of more modern internals, different barrel length/handguard and to generally cherry pick every little bit of the gun. https://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_52&products_id=32248 Would it have been easier overall to buy one of these or even any G&P AR and gradually swap everything? Quite possibly, I know most folks strongly discourage scratch builds and I would too frankly and won't do another most likely just because this was such a mammoth project already. But it's been a fun and interesting process too, so I look forward to posting up more when it's done and maybe asking some of you folks to help me out finding some really tiny bits that one cannot usually or maybe raiding your spares bins here and there even anyone wants to be super helpful lol.

First time I've read that sentence. -
My patches that aren't in patch books, as of last month. Just about to fill the 3 doors so figured it was time to take a picture.

Ahh beat me to it. I think if we magically went back to the selections/availability of guns and kit from any time more than a few years back everyone would lose their minds. Plenty of brands and products have come and gone, but there's never been a wider selection overall than there is right now I'd bet a lot on that. If you asked folks whether they though TM would make a recoil HK417, an AA-12 and a gas AK back when I started the forum threads would go nuclear. That's just one brand too. Many sites have definitely come and gone that's a big one I think and that will probably be something that affects certain people massively. If you had that perfect site that was right on your doorstep, great facilities, layout you enjoyed immensely, good player base, really well run, cheap prices, nice lunch etc etc and then that all just vanished one day, it'd be a really big deal I'd imagine. Obviously I personally wouldn't mind seeing some people stop thinking of Sunday skirmishes as a competitive sport vs a fun experience, or for the toxic clickbait content to go away, but all things considered there's no time I would go back to if I did have a time machine. Apart from when the mall was open maybe, that was the best site for me by a good margin and my enthusiasm for actually playing is somewhat lesser since it went, but I wouldn't swap it for the range of 'stuff' available now.

Setup my C2R Chameleon the other week, every pouch a different brand and all made years apart from the next one 👌 ha

If I may, couple of tips that take seconds but will make it sit/look way better. The main thing is, if you haven't already, clip your gun in and test that sling, like hover the muzzle just above the bed and give it a serious yank to check the security, seen more than a few gats suddenly drop when airsoft single point slings with a 1" buckle haven't been up to the task. If it fails or feels borderline you'll be better off just relying on the carrying method god/evolution gave you vs thinking the sling has got it when it doesn't. Some cheap foam cut to fit inside the plate bags will add basically no weight and won't hinder but again, the rig will probably 'sit' better and it'll certainly look a lot better; more like the look folks envision in their heads anyway I believe. Obviously you'll have adjusted the cummerbund for your waist, but most people generally leave the shoulder straps too long. It's only airsoft, as I've said before it's not the end of the world, but generally the top of the front plate want's to sit where your collar bones meet in the middle. Some things to consider anyway.

It'll vary on the exact model, but every UK aircrew UBACS I've seen (owned a couple, wore one in the desert after scrounging it on det) has 2 layers to at least half the torso with the inner layer being pretty thick. They're actually more suitable for the cooler months of anything - just for info for planning. FR stuff generally will fade faster and often is a little more prone to tears, though the MTP issued stuff does seem better than the american Drifire kit I've got in the latter regard. But if you weren't already, just try and wash inside out in the shortest wash that gets it clean. -
I got a lot of kills in BF1 with one of those.
-
Don't get me wrong, not saying the cops are gonna bust down your door or anything lol. They're just that well done. I'm all for it myself as the vast majority of high-fidelity replicas out there are over done SF ARs (nice guns, just over done) or maybe some AKs; anything that's super popular internationally. SA80 family gats are rare enough in airsoft, let alone unusual modifications or faithful replications.
-
The only problem with these is people will think they're nicked from a base rofl. In some of your other close up shots I could just about see the tiny things that show they're airsoft iirc, but if you showed 99% of small arms qual'd service members these pics they'd assume they're real, and not just real but been in an armoury rotation/active use for 35 years+. The worn paint pen, dymo labels and athena tags are a crazy good combo in terms of replication.

This advert is COMPLETED!

Imported but only used as a demo piece for a video, tried on a couple of times in the house, not used in game. Comes in the retail box, with all the accessories packaged new as per retail. Unfortunately has a small dink above the NV shroud where I dropped it, but neither the NV shroud or the helmet shell are broken/cracked or unserviceable; they're plastic, nothing like a bike helmet. Is a one size fits all, so basically it's big. Manufacturer's product info - https://www.ptssyndicate.com/product-page/pts-mtek-flux-helmet Price includes fees and UK postage, OBO. Everything I've got for sale is always shown here - https://flic.kr/s/aHsjPXJkHw£65

Bought a replica T1 that was attached to this but I only wanted the T1 itself, so I separated them immediately upon arrival. Doesn't include any extra screws; comes as depicted. Obviously being a clone mount that could mount any sort of micro red dot in the T-1 type style I can't make any guarantee on which brands will fit, but the two forward screw holes are elongated which gives good odds that a good selection of makes/types can be accommodated for tolerance wise. Price includes fees and UK postage. Everything I've got for sale is always shown here - https://flic.kr/s/aHsjPXJkHw£8

My old RG PC, just been replaced. Real mix of custom parts and commercial, worked great though, gonna miss it when it goes.

Many many thanks 😎 I love the RG one a ton I have to say haha. I think for most folks here there's 2 lines in the world dividing the retailers; the atlantic and then the channel. Having retail options in the US, UK and France means most folks who are actually interested can now pay the price they'd expect vs doing some maths and adding a whole ton of shipping and tax costs themselves, which I'd estimate is what irks most people the largest amount. It's a shame what the base price has to be compared to what Americans pay of course, but that's sadly entirely unavoidable. I actually changed the package to the NT version for AG Tac so they wouldn't have to buy the Tubes and sell it at a truly insane price; and that version may become the standard offering in future for more flexibility. Anyway hope it plugs in nicely with your current gear and serves you well, which I'd be confident it will and I'll welcome your thoughts once you get it and try it out. Drop me a line some time. -
Make it a patch. In fact, new rule - all HPA users must wear Ghostbusters cosplay. It's basically ALICE webbing and grey coveralls so that's easy and they already have the proton pack.

Have you seen the one-foot-in-the-grave-brigade that make up the regs on here??

Silverback MDR (available for pre-order)

Looks pretty bloody nice. Seems like a common mag type too, smart. Looking at how the real one converts to 556 mags I suppose maybe that conversion would be possible here.. maybe. BB feed of both mag types is right at the front and the 556 mags sit at the front of the mag housing in the real thing. Can't say anything for sure r.e. viability of moving/changing the catch but doesn't seem out of the realms of being done. -

Please don't I actually saw a chrome one in stock somewhere the other week after wanting one since CoD4 (maybe earlier) but I will absolutely never ever use it... -

Bought way back in 2017 well before FRV went down the pan. Inner and outer belts as pictured in their 'met grey'. Really extremely surprisingly high quality piece of gear especially for the price. I think I maybe wore this once at a short indoor game.. maybe (set the wrong condition option when creating the ad sorry). Had it setup with pouches and hung up for years, that's about it, still looks unused basically. Price is all-in. All the gear I have for sale is also viewable here - https://flic.kr/s/aHsjPXJkHw£60

100% did, gotta assume you'll get that then take it as a bonus when you don't, the vice versa is obviously a not-great place to be. Personally I have noticed a drop in the likelihood of my imports getting stung over the past few years. 5-6 years back it was every single thing over the limit of £18 or whatever it is. I think I remember them requiring a few VAT charges less than the couriers' ~£12 bs handling ransom. For me (sample of 1 person, but I do import most stuff) I can't remember having to pay a charge for a year or two now *touches all of the wood*. But, circling back and addressing the lurkers, I work on the premise those dreaded bills will still come in. -
No, absolutely not, or I'd have said lower muzzle energy. I mean slower cycling, slide binding, more friction between almost any related component, less gas efficiency etc etc.
