    THE TM MWS thread

Hello MWS enthusiasts, new owner here for first foray into gas. Got myself an M4A1 on a good secondhand deal for a setup I’m going for but, unsurprisingly, already going down the rabbit hole… I’d like to have the option of a 10.5” barrel for a CQBR build as well, seen various photos when Googling that suggest the outer barrel forward of the FSP can be unscrewed and a shorter extension added, despite trying to search the thread, not really coming up with anything so far. I have a stock barrel, am I on the right track or do I need to source a complete 10.5” outer/get a modular barrel kit? Thanks in advance…!
  4. The fairly vanilla AR collection - 1. newly added secondhand TM MWS M4A1 for a Lone Survivor inspired set up (and my first foray into gas), not going full nerd as I don’t have the time or funds, needs a paint job and, if I can find a cheap one, an M203; 2. VFC HK416A5 in a configuration I’m extremely familiar with, other than the TacBelts sling and a lack of magnifier; 3. Specna DD Mk18 AEG for a more modern SOF style look. 1 and 3 for woodland games in God’s plaid/tan or MultiCam, 2 for indoor/CQB wearing black. At some point, there might be a CQBR if I can find and afford a second MWS upper.

  6. NB Tactical Ghost or Fortis - the benefits of mesh protection, without the disadvantages of straps and buckles, I use one with Peltors no problem.
  7. I do. Bit like how I feel about P226 and G17… You must’ve got one of the decent ones then - from what I’ve been able to dig up, the WE model is 50/50 hit and miss.
  8. Absolutely, read it, but it is ultimately 8 years old and things can change. Also, there isn’t a whole lot of real detail by way of comparison - somebody who doesn’t own any of the different versions has just posted details from Google.
  9. I’ve always been a 226 fan, having used all three pistols the army’s issued over the last 20 years - the Browning HP was nice but a bit small, the Glock’s good but I always found it a bit boxy, the 226 was a nice chunky feeling pistol that just worked for me. So I’m looking at reliving my Herrick days and getting a new sidearm. Obviously, everybody raves about the TM and it’s 1-1, but it’s plastic and not full weight. What other decent options are there out there that fit the 1-1, metal, realistic weight criteria…?

  12. A well established and organised logistic chain to support, from organic in-house CQMS at tactical level all the way through the effort to deliver strategically - Mulberry Harbour anyone?
  13. https://www.britishtactical.com/hl-eud-panel/ British designed and made, genuine innovation. OK, maybe a little more expensive than AliExpress, but if you don’t mind spending a bit more, definitely worth it, I use one on my work rig.
