@DanBow A few of my friends run hpa and they swear by it.

what’s tempting for me is the more consistent fps. Plus I play around a lot of hpa players and therefore it’s inevitable that I am going to lean more towards hpa over elec.

There is an argument that once set up properly hpa will be more consistant and reliable due to less moving parts. Although seeing some people on the fields this is definitely not always the case.

HPA is extremely consistent indeed but a well tuned AEG does the same job (people "forget" to mention how much money they spent on it to make it happen though).

HPA is easier to maintain and fix it though compared to an AEG because HPA engines don't look like a clock internally. Especially for a beginner who never took apart a gearbox before.

Try out as many different platforms as possible and choose what you prefer. This forum is a very small echo chamber and people parrot the same thing over and over again. ☠️

  2. Krytac is a tad expensive as a first gun. G&G isn't the best value anymore when you can get better internals for less money.

Many good M4's out there nowadays like Arcturus, Specna and Double Eagle just to name a few.

And another one to be banned and all CQB sites - this is effectively burst fire. single barrel + multiple BBs = ban.

True. That's why I don't understand Wolverine. They made an hpa engine which shoots 8 bb's out of one barrel and they are gonna put into that John Wick shotgun. It's still burst it doesn't matter what skin they put on it.

I got all excited when I saw the words gas shotgun then I scrolled down. Bloody hell that thing is fugly

It's a revised Flak5/Flak10 by failed Airsoft Innovations. I've got something else for you. Hopefully this thing brings joy. 😎

I know HPA wankers have their super quiet sneaky peaky pews that make that disturbingly quiet little thumping noise when the trigger is pulled.

But what about the AEGs I see doing that.....  how is that achieved?

    Is it shimming?

    A fancy Schmancy brushless motor?

Gears make from Adamantium and powdered kitten paw pads?

HPA is only "quiet" when you put an HPA engine into a gun and attach a foamed suppressor to it. Otherwise a slide on a pistol or a bolt on a gbbr still makes a very distinguishable noise regardless running them on HPA. To be honest even HPA engine can be heard up close (let's say you're within 5 meters) and every engine has its own noise signature. A kythera sounds different compared to a jack or inferno etc.

I don't think that an AEG can be as quiet as an HPA because those moving gears always make a noise regardless what you do. Altough some peple put foam into certain guns to make it happen (I only read about AUG and P90's because there is a lot of empty space in both guns for insulation).

But answering your question yes shimming your gears to death to achieve that deep, thumping noise is supposed to be the ultimate solution. Plus adjusting motor height.

    Thanks for the advise.

I've just emailed Fire-Support as I remember using them for my old CZ805 Bren when ParcelFail broke it.... I'll try and contact MLEmart too.

    - Chris.

I woudn't rely on FireSupport to be honest.

If you would like to get the cheapest option contact VFC because they don't charge retail price but it takes about a month to get here.

MLEmart charges roughly 5 pounds for postage and it takes about 1-2 weeks to arrive but you have to ask them for a quote first.

  7. I was so excited to see that Genesis shotgun until it turned out it's gonna be just an 8 round burst with each trigger pull. I don't even know if any site is gonna allow that (probably not because you can't fire burst indoor).

I assume I have to build a Saiga on HPA basis instead for a true shotgun experience. 😎

  8. Value to cost ratio simply not good enough on any of them in my opinion. Just because manufacturers make internals/externals out of chocolate and they don't bother with QC it doesn't mean that I should fix their product with my own money and free time.

This question was asked before and my answer is the same again: buy a Marui NGRS MP5, which is as realistic as an GBB can get without gas, and the build quality is one of the best if not the best at the moment.

Frankly I do not like tilting steel outer barrels on  gbb pistols.

If I wanted to put a Guarder (or other) aluminium slide on a TM Glock would I have to have a metal outer barrel, or could I continue to use the Marui plastic one?. My pistols don't get any hard use. I never skirmish them.

I believe KWA use plastic outer barrels on their guns even though the slides are metal, so it must be feasible.

I only use fixed outer barrels on my pistol builds so my tracer doesn't tilt on its own thread. They can cost a fortune though compared to a generic outer barrel.

  10. Marketing bullshit is strong on this one. 🤣

"If you buy this gun you will be unstoppable on the field and people are gonna fear you even before you peek them."

60-70% of the total value that you spent is a good start usually.
