Sites seem to go through “phases”. Often change or loss of key management, let’s be honest all airsoft sites are small operations, has a huge impact. Over time players/regulars grow up and move, looking for something else. This also changes the feel of the smaller “club” type game sites. I have memories of some great times at early very amateur sites where everyone was involved. Lots of fun but some horror stories too and I wouldn’t take my children to them if they were running now. Much as I might resent some developments there have been/are operators that needed a kick up the arse on basic safety and service.

Some of the “clone” tactical gear companies make pretty good stuff these days. One of Eagles most famous products was a knock off Lowe pack. I still use a lot of initial issue US MOLLE kit. A lot of it was probably sewn by an inmate at a State Prison with smashing through lowest bid orders. The vest doesn’t look to bad. It’s not Beez Combat Systems but why pay that much for game gear. Wouldn’t take too much to reinforce the more important seams before use if you aren’t sure.

I don’t have problem with people using a Russian Federation load out. No one gave a shit during 2014 Crimean occupation, MH17 shoot down, Chechnyan wars and South Ossetia etc. Why start now? If someone is running about saying what a hero Putin is then that’s different. Dressing up up to play soldier games doesn’t mean that person supports that regimes ideology. Makes too many assumptions for my taste. I can’t think of many modern armed forces that haven’t been involved in some disreputable acts in living memory or indeed the last few years. I’m thinking of drone strikes on 9 year olds…..

Do you know what the think of this is? Personally a grenade coming at me means I am charging the position it came from as they often don’t have their weapon ready…. Given the faffy way most players do this. An issue for player Marshall’s and “off duty” Marshall’s enjoying a skirmish too. I know people in other sports who don’t tell people they are an instructor/coach when participating because they think that it will shield them should something go wrong.

I’ve played a few sites as a rental player just for nosy ness. You get an interesting view point. My big gripes are unreliable site guns, non intelligible briefings & cliques. The latter two being heavily influenced by the Marshalling quality. The Head Shed does make a difference if they lack confidence or interest everything else goes felgercarb quickly. The worst, ie dangerous things I’ve seen at sites were directly down to marshals. I’m talking stupidity with pyro in the safe zone and threats with actual weapons. CS woodland was close to perfect as a green site. 😭😭😭

Used to regularly use a stock TM 1911 at Ambush. Cold days it had would run out before bb’s did but it’s a back up and was otherwise completely reliable. 6-8 shots and mag change, it works for the real one so hey that’s what extra mags are for! I have, from time to time, played as rental player despite having my own kit. I like to check a site out that way. I have met some very good “rental” players. Either a natural aptitude (it’s not rocket science) or better fitness - cough- than walk ons. 😉 Always enjoyed the TM 1911. Just a classic, easy to manipulate and dam fun to use. I always found it comfy in the hand 😋 compared to a double stacker.

I always thought the line about “imminently about to cross” at zebra crossings was quite subjective. There is a one on my route to work with a good 200-300m visibility leading up to it on. There are pretty severe speed bumps too, so most vehicles will be going relatively slowly. I fairly often see someone waiting at the crossing, waiting for a vehicle to drive up and stop before starting to cross… When even an asthmatic tortoise had time to do it before the car got there. 🙄 81 Do not ride across equestrian crossings, as they are for horse riders only. Do not ride across a pelican, puffin or zebra crossing. Dismount and wheel your cycle across. Law TSRGD regs 33(2) & 36(1) A couple of years ago a near me a car jumped the lights and hit a cyclist who hadn’t dismounted when crossing. Car driver got away with it as cyclist deemed equally at fault. I’m in two minds on this one as driver should have been more careful especially close to a school gate.

Yes, so I make a point off never carrying out physical exercise. 😉 I do have a couple of pairs of safety glasses with prescription inserts. Unfortunately fancy Oakleys and the like can’t take a strong enough prescription for me. I swap glasses between games as a quick way to defog them. Mesh goggles and face masks with glasses under them seem to fog as much as full Goggles in me. Best ones I have are my cheap guarder ones. Fog up less than my Revision & Bolle ones. Got some out of production Unvex Equestrian “glasses” too. Bit more secure as they are really a very close fitting goggle.

Ghillied up or not? I may have missed that. I have SEEN a similar set up to Mad Al with a single point/bungee sling. Strong side simple weapon catch (C shaped clip) rear of hip. No optic on it I think. Worked for the guy as he could go prone on his front and deploy it pretty swiftly.
