  1. Great reading everyone's reasoning. I think @Lozart reason makes most sense as to why you generally see it mounted on the right side. Given that most people are mimicking that look without knowing why. It has made me think about testing this hypothesis. When the dark nights roll in next winter I may try it at 6 o'clock and 3 o'clock and see if I take more hits with it at 6 as opposed to 3. As at 6 it will be more in line with me. Nice to brainstorm about something so seemingly trivial.

    THE TM MWS thread

On mine the cut is radiused. It was bought new this year if that helps... If your one that seals better is also radiused then that could show an improvement on newer revisions?
  3. Hey, so I'm making this thread purely for discussion on where and why you mount your torch on a rifle. At first I was mounting mine on the right side of my rail as this is what I saw everyone do. I have since moved mine to the bottom for, which for me, is a good reason. I noticed when it was mounted to the right the shadow from the barrel obscured the light and when 'pieing' doorways etc that shadow were quite often in the way and hiding what I was trying to illuminate. Since mounting to the bottom I find this has eliminated this and sent the shadow way up above my point of interest. Though now I have an after market longer rail, I have noticed the shadow is much smaller as the torch is further forward. How do you mount yours and have you experienced such hindrances? Is there a reason you mount it the way you do or is it just from mimicking. Curious on thoughts.
  4. Yeah I guess having new threads locked would work well. Keep the threads to a minimum and have a thread for categories I.e. hop unit, inner barrels, gearbox, frame/body/receiver, rail etc... then discussion can take place in them without multiple threads on the same subject. I'm well aware of the search. I use it very frequently. Maybe it's just my OCD of liking things organised and categorised. 😂
  5. Hey just an idea... I think it would be nice to have an 'owners club's forum which can have individual sub forums dedicated to popular RIFs where all information can then be discussed in separate threads. For example the TM Zet platform (or MWS as it's more known) or TM Hi Capa platform including clones or ASG Scorpion Evo etc... it's great having all the information in one place like the MWS thread but you just get people whinging that the thread is too long. If it were in a sub forum where questions and discussions on specific things can have their own thread I think it may be more beneficial. Just a thought... The opening of a new 'owners club' could be made by mods only with a thread where people can request via a poll for a sub forum for a specific platform or RIF then if it receives say 15 votes a sub forum could be made for that platform/RIF. Hope that makes sense
  6. +1 to this too. I think it would be good to have a dedicated boneyard classifieds.

Any chance of some pics to help show and identify your issue?
  9. I went prime with everything. Built the drone from the ground up cost about 400 then oled goggles were nearly that again then all the batteries, chargers and small peripherals and a bag etc soon added up With airsoft got an MWS and 6 extra mags which was not far of the price of the rif itself, then a case, 2 types of red dots and a scope. Then 6 cans of gas. Bbs. Chest rigs. Goggles. Face mask. Chrono. Grease etc...
  10. I lm with you on that. I spent 1200 getting into FPV flying and 1400 on my first airsoft shop. Mind i went GBBR first so had alsorts of extras I needed to get me going.
  11. Welcome. You look like your taking a pretty sensible approach. I use one of these mesh masks and personally I think it's great. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07953M6Z6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_i_dl_5YXMAX5TEEC47GCHD7DX Has flexible cheeks so cheek welding and looking down optics is no issue and also has ear protection. As you imagined in your earlier post. It is no fun taking one to the ear so these are great and will work with most standard goggles or glasses. I'm using it with a valken goggle, cant remember which one now but they are fairly chunky and marry up with the mesh lovely.

Only used in one game but I play CQB so not really useful to me. Has fiber reticle and battery powered red dot. Nice optic with crystal clear lens. The reticle is superb too. Really wanted to have a use for this but it's just too much magnification for what I play. Comes with custom lens protector that I designed and had printed by Red Dot Engineering which cost a tenner Bought from Patrol base for £140 will ship to your door for £70 (UK Mainland) https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/theta-optics-redfiber-4-32c-scope-micro-red-dot?utm_source=voracio&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=back-in-stock

Thought it wouldn't be much different. I have an NPAS installed so all good there. I use zeroone gas which is made by abbey so silicone free. Uses UPL instead. So I'm used to dry gas and lubing my rubber 🤦‍♂️😂

Is there anything to note specifically when using this over green gas? May try it next winter.

That's strange I can get around 20g of gas into mine. I have 7 mags and fill the first for 4 seconds then the next right through each mag then back to the first. After around 3x 4 second fills for each I'll leave them a minute or two and then do the same again and I can get around 20g in each that way. Never felt the need to mod them.
  19. Just received the penultimate upgrade for my MWS... The SixG brass nub So small yet so powerful Thanks @Davegolf
  20. Hey, so I'm looking at buying a boneyard Scorpion Evo off of someone. It's in bits and he said it keeps locking up but shot fine when it didn't. He also said he is pretty sure it's all there as it's in a box in bits. I think the gearbox assy is assembled but the the rest of it i.e. the shell isn't. The shell has been sprayed with a pattern on it (distatsefully in my eyes, but each to there own). I want it for a custom build so intend on putting the all the mod cons in it like an ARL and faster gearset, cnc hop chamber etc. Main reason for buying is it will be my first AEG and I want to know how it ticks to learn the teching side so happy for a disassembled gun that will need parts fixing etc and I am very tech savvy and mechanically minded. What kind of price would you say it is worth in stated condition? I know these seem to sell for a higher fraction of new price n full working order compared to many other guns and would like to know I'm not over paying for what could essentially need a lot ploughed in to it. Thanks
  21. @Mr. No_Face sums it up well there. They are 2 completely different platforms and GBB definitely requires more care and attention. But don't be put off by the umpteen recommendations of not going GBB first if that's what you decide. Just be aware it's a much steeper initial learning curve.
  22. Honestly they are not as bad as people make out. The main thing is they do need maintaining after almost every game where as an AEG rarely needs much doing. Now if your like me and enjoy tinkering etc this is more of a positive over a negative. I love disassembling it and giving it a once over. And it only really takes 20 mins to remove the bolt wipe off and clean it, the receiver and the barrel and regrease it all ready for next time. Reliability wise only issue I had was I skipped the maintenance and the bolt ran dry by the end of the day. But just carry a tub of grease and this isn't an issue of stopping your game day. I like the noise of it cycling, the fact it locks back on empty and the low round count and having to reload etc.. really adds to the immersion for me. Some people like to just point and shoot so for them an AEG is better. But like I say know what you want from the sport and satisfy your needs. That's why there is such variety to what you can get. You will get maximum enjoyment out of it then.
  23. Welcome bud. I like you, heavily researched before being involved online and at games. So much so I had a shopping list well before my Ukara. My first ever game was in october 2021 and I am now the proud owner a TM M4A1 GBBR. I went against the common recommendation of starting with an AEG due to already knowing my reasons for wanting to play. I wanted realism and a mechanical RIF. The way the M4 works and how it sounds brings the biggest smile to my face. It's a feat of engineering but hey I digress. Just know what you want from it and take note on how you want to play in your rental days and I'm sure you won't go wrong. I bought my own eyepro and face protection after my first game as I hated the fencing style mask and it made that second rental game 10 times better than the first. It sounds like you are heading in the right direction. Don't be shy to get stuck in here it's a great forum. Lots to discuss. Have fun
  24. Hopefully this will sort your issues you have been having. Start with it fully closed and slowly test increasing the power until you hit the FPS you want. Hopefully this will restrict the power of the higher powered gas to something that wont keep breaking your nozzles.
