I think you might be right. The rifle looks really nice but proportionally the rail is a bit short for the optic.
-
Thanks. I have considered it but the price is extreme!

Yeah it needs new parts as the metal teeth on the piston have broke and the sector gear also. I believe it's a pre 2018 model so it's old and likely had plenty of use. When I got it it was firing at 320fps even with zero air seal. No idea how. But after using it once. The piston teeth gave way. So I'm thinking I might just upgrade it with ASG ultimate piston and gears. Have put a new o ring on the piston head and it seals perfectly and as for the shimming... well over 1mm of movement on each gear is certainly not good. So I Also bought 3 packs of 100 shims at 0.1 0.2 and 0.3 mm for a 5er per pack. So much cheaper than buying from airsoft shops. The sector gear took 1.6mm of shimming to make it sit nice. But anyway as it's now a non runner figured i may aswell upgrade the parts that need replacing and put the newer 2020 mosfet in it too. Got it cheap anyway so happy to put some cash into it to get it running nicely. VID-20220519-WA0002.mp4

Thanks. Do you know of anything specific that isn't? Ie barrel, hop unit etc.

Hey, so I seem to remember reading somewhere that the scorpion evo has standard V2 gearbox parts I.e. gears l, cylinder and piston. It's just the shell is different shape/layout. I cant seem to find the post now. Is this correct? I need a new piston and gears.

Can't go anywhere without hearing that word. I'm from Whitby. And 99% of people I meet have been here on holiday!! 😂

Welcome. Great bunch of people here. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask and of course, banter is welcome

Apparently not... parcel? I haven't received no parcel! After all this messing around, you have now lost my parcel! Hand me a claims form please... 😉 -
To add to what others have already said... Honestly GBB isn't as bad as some make out. My first airsoft rif I bought at the beginning of the year was A TM M4. Yes they need cleaning and maintaining more regularly but from what I have learned now owning an aeg they are easier to maintain, its just they need doing more regularly. A maintenance session after a game day takes me 15 mins. And i actually enjoy disassembling it and cleaning and greasing it up. So its not really a chore for me. The trigger mech generally needs very little attention in terms of maintaining. Mainly just cleaning the upper receiver and BCG then regreasing and cleaning the barrel. Wheras an aeg when the time comes, doing a full strip maintenance.. they are much harder. Making sure you don't mess up the shimming and just disassembling and assembling is much harder than a gbb. So don't be put off by the old 'GBB is harder to maintain' claims. As far as I'm concerned they are wrong. It's that GBB needs maintenance more regularly. If your not lazy, this isn't an issue. I went gbbr for the added realism and it sure delivers. I have an aeg for a winter gun and emergency backup. The low round count, the recoil, the reloading etc... all add to that realism for me which an aeg can't give. Know your reason for wanting one and if its justified then go for it. It's not that daunting.

That's a work of art matey. Absolutely beautiful build. Personally I love the futuristic look of the F4 receiver and SI parts.
-
Thanks mate 😊 need some new foam in there as I have made many changes to the layout and its falling apart. Gonna get some denser case foam that you cut out layer by layer with a knife to make it look pristine.

Yeah it's certainly different. But that's why theres a multitude of different options, to suit is all

The annoying thing is how ridiculously expensive indoor 'ammoless' target sets are. Would love some but for the price I cant see me ever getting some. I think I would rather a new pew.
-
I'm not a missive fan of how the really tall ones look plus where I naturally weld to the stock puts my eye low anyway so true co-witness or lower ⅓ height is about right for me.
-
Yeah they are tall. My riser is maybe half the height of a unity.
-
I like the look of the 12 position. I tried it on my Evo and it looked quite cool. The torch was slightly visible in the sight on a riser bit nothing to worry about really nice to see a light specifically designed to be low pro for this.
-
Managed to re use an old plug and solder a longer length of wire to it, whilst I was at it I threaded it through the handguard and also made my Unity button into a momentary switch as I prefer that to on/off. Had to disassemble the tiny button and basically super glued the 2 'clicky' parts together to remove the function and make it permanently momentary. If you ever wondered how clicky pens worked as a kid and took them apart to find out like me, It's the same mechanism. 😂

Yeah i knew they were proprietary to surefire but with ali Express selling tons of clones. Some factory out there obviously makes them and I really thought I would be able to find them on there. Guess I'll just buy a few full tail switches for back up and to use as donors. Just a shame as a full switch is much more pricey than it would be to just buy a few plugs. @DrAlexanderTobacco thanks that's a good start will have a search using that term and see if I find anything.
-
These ones.... They almost look like coaxial plugs. Have managed to salvage one from a switch as the wire is too short so can add my own length to it. But would be nice to be able to buy a few so i can make pressure switches the right length and hide wires inside handguard etc..
-
Sorry, I don't mean the whole tail switch I mean a name for just the plug component.
-
Hello, does anyone know if these plugs are available to buy as a component or what their actual name may be? I have searched extensively to see if they have a specific name but cant find any answer. I would like to buy a few that I can solder my own wire to. Thanks.

Just bought a scorpion evo to add to my collection. Filled a great space I had in my case. £220 with bag, 6mid caps and a high cap! Bargain in my eyes. Will be selling the bag and high cap on as I have no need for them -
Just seen this in my feed. Think he put too many zeros there...
