  1. Everything I've seen and read so far about this has impressed me, and as I can definitely see an M4 GBBR in my future collection. This overtakes the MWS as the likely candidate - because it's such a good value proposition. But... I have seen a video or two where the full-auto mag dumps aren't as good as the TM. Now I know from my experience with my '416 that they're not a thing done during actual skirmishing, but it'd be nice to understand if the apparent shortfall in ultimate 'at the limit' use is real or not, and how it'll affect cold-weather performance or fast semi-auto spamming. I'd also like to see some long-range testing, to see if that short barrel affects accuracy unduly... and also which gases can be used, and how they affect the joule output. Any likelihood Mr @Bada Bing will be purchasing and reviewing one? I fully trust his in-depth examinations of gas gats, and I'm sure it'd help many prospective purchasers enormously. (I can see MiddleAgedGamerUk has done an unboxing video, so he'll likely have a review up soon, but his test shooting tends to get done at rather short range, IIRC)
  2. Hah, they're selling the double eagle m906c with a crossed out price of £240, and an actual price of £189. No one anywhere has ever sold a 906c at £240. Might have advertised it for that much, but when everyone else sells it at less than £200, it would only have been advertised at that price for your 'statutory legal reason' (or it's the manufacturer's RRP) Only a dickhead would be foolish enough to buy it more expensively than available elsewhere. Were you that dickhead? Is that what you're telling us?
  3. Don't think showing a bbguns4less pricing does anything useful, they're selling guns at the correct price and crossing out an inflated price to make a prospective purchaser think they're getting a bargain. Nothing more than that. Typical sales technique (that my wife always falls for every time).
  4. I can use my cheapo micrometer to measure the external dimension of the thread (it's 25.8mm) but I won't be able to tell you the thread pitch which is the other thing you'll need. Looks very fine to me though
  5. The more I think about it, the more I want a VN-era M16 too. Solid carry handles FTW!
  6. What is the obsession with the solid carry handles on M16s? The removable ones are surely good enough, plus give the option of a modern optic if needed? Having said that, I'll put up with one on an XM-177. But that's because I really like the super-long flash hider aesthetic Or the full-monty M16A1, as I had a toy one when I was a kid and loved it. (Embarrassingly, I outgrew the damn thing but still ran around with it in my garden, to the point I made a wooden stock extension for it to increase the length of pull!)
  7. Of course DE now have a GBBR of their very own, which seems to be being very well received... I'm sure something will happen in the future...
  8. Blimey, it's bad enough when the person does know about airsoft guns... you must be one of them high-flying risk-taking go-getter types to let a noob loose on the complicated internals of your gat!
  9. VFC / Umarex AEGs don't have the best reputation - Luke @ Negative Airsoft has a hatred it seems! (Their gas blow-backs are much better). Cyma would get my vote. Bad linky
  10. A gas blow back Bren would be pretty damn awesome A gas F2000 would be super cool As would a Sterling SMG Otherwise I share a couple of the usual suspects already mentioned... and some others - all gas blow back because of the real steel feels Browning Hi Power L1A1 SLR HK G3 HK MP5 (original style hand guard) L85, or even better an XL60
  11. Well this is good news I think, HobbyKing are re-opening their UK warehouse, so some decent cheap batteries will be available to compete with the usual Nuprol stuff... All their Airsoft batteries... https://hobbyking.com/en_us/batteries-chargers.html#q=&idx=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products&dFR[battery_pack_use][0]=Airsoft&dFR[warehouses][0]=UK&dFR[warehouses][1]=Global&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][0]=UK|1&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][1]=UK|2&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][2]=UK|3&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][3]=Global|1&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][4]=Global|2&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][5]=Global|3&hFR[categories.level0][0]=Batteries %2F Chargers %2F%2F%2F Batteries %2F%2F%2F LiPo&is_v=1 7.4v airsoft with Deans connectors... https://hobbyking.com/en_us/batteries-chargers/batteries.html#q=&idx=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products&dFR[config][0]=2&dFR[hardware_wireconnector_plug][0]=T-Connector&dFR[warehouses][0]=UK&dFR[warehouses][1]=Global&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][0]=UK|1&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][1]=UK|2&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][2]=UK|3&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][3]=Global|1&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][4]=Global|2&dFR[warehouses_stock_data][5]=Global|3&hFR[categories.level0][0]=Batteries %2F Chargers %2F%2F%2F Batteries %2F%2F%2F LiPo&is_v=1
  12. The HW T2 clones are only £55? https://www.thecageairsoft.co.uk/holy-warrior-t2-micro-red-dot-sight/#description That's a great price. @C-Diddy wants to avoid an extra lens protector, do the flip down covers provide any protection or are they just for protection during transit?
  13. Sorry I can't help with that specific info, but just bear in mind an indoor range is unlikely to be long enough to really do that for you... I'm lucky enough to have 15+ metres of garden to use for test firing, and that's enough to zero the sights for windage, but it's only just far enough to show the hop is having any effect - you'll need 40+ metres to actually get it corrected for the game. Best of luck though!
  14. I just happened to be watching this video... .. and I noticed the new control unit has support for LiFe batteries. The commentary mentions 'correct battery voltage detection' It's a shame the DEX / DEK guns are a bit 'fuggly' (with apologies to anyone who likes the super-stubby honey badger look), but I think this unit also exists in the AEX 15 (for those who like a futuristic M4 variant)
  15. HELLO!!!! (resident DE shill enters the conversation 😋) I now own both the 904G and the 906C (metal body). The 906C gets my recommendation if you can spring for the extra cash and don't mind a little extra weight. But... the stock rate of fire is quite low, and the motor gets quite toasty when spamming the semi auto, thanks to some active braking. So it's not perfect, but it's great value. Investigate the Specna's and Cyma's as an alternative if your budget is at the lower end.
  16. As we've seen recently, Patrolbase seem the slicker and more 'quality' place to buy from, but they're just as capable of sending out a bad RIF and failing to fulfill their obligations. Which sucks. So I don't know if more experienced purchasers would recommend paying the premium at the likes of Defcon or Fire Support, when there's stock available...? The problem is there's often stock level issues at almost everyone but PB and BBG4L, so you might just have to suck it up if there's a QC issue Edit: Actually, I don't mean 'suck it up' as in 'just up with it and fix it yourself', though that remains an option for the more experienced purchaser with a bottomless wallet and tech experience... I really mean 'fight it out' using the consumer protection laws etc. Don't let the bastards get away with it, assuming you have the time and determination!
  17. I just let my daughter's boyfriend have a blast with my TM AUG High Cycle. He loved it 😋. Compact, reasonably light, and rear-biased, as you say. Very good 👍
  18. I was thinking of this one... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/cyma-cm-515-m4a1-carbine-w-keymod-handguard 1.88kg according to the specs
  19. Just weighed my Double Eagle M904G, which feels light compared to my other gats, with a red dot, a foregrip and a mag it tips the scales at 2.3kg To get below that I think one of the cheaper Cyma M4's might do the trick. Not sure which model number I handled at Spec Ops but a young kid had one, and he was happy with it. It felt quite a bit more fragile than the DE does but it was definitely 'fly weight' I think Patrolbase has one on their front page at the moment. I'd still recommend the DE (of course!)
  20. That explains it, I think, @Sewdhull Cheers!
  21. Well, I picked DMR as being representative of a larger gun, maybe I should have said 'battle rifle' but that's longer to type. Doesn't look like I've saved any typing now, does it 🥺🥴
  22. There's a DE M904G with my dinky Aimpoint style sight on it. Not the Feyachi, and it's no longer working consistently unfortunately, but it does look great on the gun. I intend to get a replacement sometime, so your Feyachi (whichever you get) might well end up on my Xmas list! Here's a picture of the larger sight I mentioned in my first post in this thread. You can see why I say it's not such a good match for anything but big ol' DMRs or even LMGs, but I do believe this is much chunkier than the RDS-36 in your link.
  23. Well exactly, it seems a bit odd that that something that falls neatly between 7.4v and 11.1v should not work, as both are supported by the Falcon unit (though I do remember someone having a problem with one or the other, a while back). I can understand the Nimh perhaps, but surely the voltage detection on a LiFe battery is the same as on LiPo?
  24. Thanks @Sewdhull sadly my old farty brain can't seem to cope with much new information, so that is TMI for me but I guess the takeaway message is that LiFe batteries would be great to use. Except (and please correct me if I'm wrong, or indeed the manufacturer is talking bollocks) that Double Eagles witht their Falcon Control Units are specificied as incompatible with LiFe batteries. Which rules 'em out for me (as I did go looking a month ago)
