Killbox: Taking Airsoft to the next level

I'm guessing the navy version would involve getting to know your battle buddy extremely well -
Yep, tried that. It worked a bit but not enough to get it to fit properly
-
Not sure if it counts a "made" but after A LOT of sanding I've finally managed to get the ammomax P99 holster to actually accept the P99 and lock it in place

When was the 'Golden Age' of airsoft?
Cannonfodder replied to Dentonboy's topic in General Discussion
Funny you should post that, my latest purchace was a WE P99. I did have one of the Maruzen NBB ones years ago but I hated the mushy trigger so sold it. I know what you're getting at though, half the reason I got one was to be different from all the Glock and Hi Cappas out there Me too. Christ I feel old now For me I'd say the golden age was probably around the late 2000's. The ACM guns were relatively cheap but effective and social media wasn't a big thing so there was less of the egotistical bellends spouting nonsense (well there were some, but they usually ended up being put in their place). Also I was nice to not have every other player wearing multiple cameras and thinking they're the next Steven Spielburg while pushing their crappy goontube channel -

That tells me all I need to know and from Herrgh's post this sounds like someone trying to monetise their rape fantasies -

"Secret location" A subtle way of saying we haven't found a venue dumb enough to let us do this yet -

I'm no lawyer but I'd love to see them try to use that in court Agreed, especially as tasers and cattle prods are classed as section 5 weapons. As for force feeding, that brings up more liability issues such as potential allergies I see Killhouse hasn't been back since posting this so hopefully this will be one of those projects which get annouced before dieing without anyone hearing any more about it -

Not sure of the detail. I did find this though https://www.lawcom.gov.uk/app/uploads/2016/08/No.134-Criminal-Law-Consent-and-Offences-Against-the-Person-A-Consultation-Paper.pdf Page 7 section 1.2 A person is guilty of the offence of assault if- (a) of another he intentionally or recklessly applies force to or causes an impact on the body (i) without the consent of the other, or (ii) where the act is intended or likely to cause injury, with or without the consent of the other -

Cannonfodder replied to Killbox's topic in Other Events and Meets
I'm pretty sure the whole consent thing doesn't mean shit. I'm sure I remember hearing about doms at an S&M club being arrested for assault, despite having consent from subs. Killhouse might want to read up on the legal side of this if he doesn't want to end up in court -
Yes. Also you have to be 18+ to be able to buy pellets. There are other laws regarding the sale and use of airguns which aren't relevant to this discussion so I won't go into them.

Airsoft, finances and mental health.
Cannonfodder replied to Wavey_Gravey's topic in General Discussion
Not sure what more I can add that hasn't already been posted, but there's some great advice here As someone who has struggled with debt and mental health issues I fully understand how appealing that new gun feeling can be, only for it to go very quickly and be replaced by the shitty feeling that you're still in the same position but more skint. When it comes to social media I find it's good to remember that what you're seeing is an extremely edited version of what's going on in people's lives and occasionally taking a break from it for a few weeks can do your mental health a world of good, especially the airsoft groups on facebook. All the whinning manbabies on there really make me dispair for the future of the hobby so I left almost all of them -
There are other laws regarding the sale of airguns. IIRC all sales must be face to face at a registered firearms dealer (you can still buy via mail order but the gun must be sent to a RFD for you to collect). Also you need to provide your name and address to be recorded as the buyer

Killbox: Taking Airsoft to the next level
Cannonfodder replied to Killbox's topic in Other Events and Meets
So it'll be a stupidly high price for a very short time. The more I read about this, the worse it looks @Killbox "provide your blanket consent to being verbally abused, touched, shocked, force fed, restrained, tied up or subjected to any of the other actions or behaviours which one might reasonably expect from a military scenario." Am I allowed to fight back in these senarios? -

How much are you charging for this and how long does the event last? -
Exactly. They're not giving out any information that you don't already have, just confirming it's correct
-
The trouble is that, while we know he's talking bollocks, others may not and his ridiculous advice may cause someone to have a very bad day

So it's pretty much an escape room with a bit of target shooting. I think I'll pass -
Yes you're correct and your mate is a fucking idiot. If it wasn't for the potential reprecussions for the hobby I'd suggest letting him fuck about and find out.

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Cannonfodder replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
The 2 times I've been I found both staff and other players to be friendly and welcoming. One thing I do like is that they seam to have the right balance between not sitting around waiting for the next game and not feeling rushed to kit up for the next game, unlike some sites I've visited -
Approximately 30 members of the SAS were involved in the Iranian Embassy siege. So far I've met 1500 of them in pubs

I picked up a pair of boots from Mountain Warehouse. Unfortunately they started to split after 2 weeks and so went straight back for a refund. It's not a good sign when both the ladies behind the counter say that most of the footwear they sell is utter dog shit and should be avoided -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

A very special friend as he gave him a "hand" To stop this from being spam I'd better say my last game was at Ambush Airsoft near Cobham on the 12th and it was a great day, despite the MP5 battery dying 30 seconds into the last game. Still, I had lots of fun with the shotgun which got a few admiring looks and comments about it what it's like to be on the receiving end of it Hope it gets sorted soon. Despite what we may say in jest, your health and staying out of a forever box is more important than dicking about in the woods
