Is the M9 a tilting or fixed barrel? If it's a tilting barrel then the extra weight of a traser may negatively impact how well it cycles.
-
The difference is that the tlfx and tag rounds are professionally made to QC standards, rather than the airsoft version of Wallace and Grommet knocking stuff together in their shed

That's what someone who definitely doesn't own a Schwerer Gustav would say And I fully agree

Apart from the obvious issues already raised I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be pissed off at the thought of having to clean a load of powder out of their guns and gear at the end of a game day. Also I'm pretty sure the vast majority of outdoor sites are woodland so it would severely limit their usefulness

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Cannonfodder replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
Another day at Ambush Airsoft and on the whole us was a good one, despite a few negatives. Firstly the PDW chrono'd at a measly 120ish fps on a .28g bb (0.2j) so it went straight back into the bag and I stuck with the MP5K. The only other real negative was that there appeared to be a few players who were reluctant to call their hits and so this resulted in quite a few cases of overkill. An announcement by staff to knock it off was given and afterwards things were alot better. A large number of players also left at lunchtime when the heavens opened and after this the games felt like they flowed better and everyone seemed generally more chilled out. All in all it's not the best day I've had there but it certainly wasn't a bad one -
I can't see why not. I haven't used an extended glock mags for years, but when I did I used smg mag pouches.
-
Higher fps does not equal longer range, if this was the case then nobody would buy TM guns
-
For aegs it's down to the ratio of the cylinder volume to the inner barrel volume. If the volume of the barrel is greater than the cylinder the air will stop pushing on the bb before leaving the barrel. Conversely too short (lower volume) and the bb will have left the barrel before the air can fully expand. In a gas gun the gas carries on pushing the bb as it expands so (assuming every other variable is matched) a longer barrel will give more time for the gas to push the bb and so give it a higher muzzle energy

Ii agree with Leo that using the gun first before looking at upgrades. This should give an idea about what, or if anything, needs upgrading and will give you a benchmark for performance comparisons when the new parts are fitted. Unfortunately the false belief that all guns must be gutted and upgraded before being used in a game is becoming more popular, whereas in reality it's often bollocks.
-
Edit: nevermind, the gun decided to shit the bed and needs some TLC before being fielded again
-
It definitely could, although you'll need a few extra mags and/or change how you play. However its worth noting that gbb mags tend to be relatively heavy so the weight soon ads up when you're carrying several.

Edit: if you mean the spring powered shotgun unfortunately there aren't really very many accessories available for them.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread
Cannonfodder replied to Mack's topic in General Discussion
Might need a spring change though -
It's also a good idea to get into changing your battery at lunchtime on a skirmish day. Apart from helping to keep the batteries healthy it means you avoid the battery dieing right at the worst moment possible
-
I only play once a month so my batteries sit doing nothing for a few weeks with no problems. Just make sure you don't run them completely flat as that's what tends to knacker them. It's worth noting though that some mosfets do draw power constantly so if your gun has one you need to unplug the battery from the gun

Agreed. The nearest one to me stopped selling surplus kit to concentrate on regular camping gear over 10 years ago. There was also a guy at St Albans market a few years ago but his prices were worthy of Mack's and the bullshit he'd spew would put a politician to shame. For example he told the Mrs that the MTP smock he was selling was a bargain at £50 as they usually go for £200
-
To me a bigger concern should be ghosting of the dot. I've had some red dot sights in which the dot is so bad you can't see where the bb went
-
This. Start off with just a couple of magazine pouches then you can work out what, if anything, else you need. Whilst it's tempting to splurge on a full loadout with a fuckton of pouches, often this leads to an urge to fill every pouch so you end up carrying around loads of kit which never gets used. Then when you do slim down your loadout you end up with loads of pouches gathering dust in a cupboard

What do dark humour and unvaccinated kids have in common? They don't get old

This. The tippman guns that run on 2 12g co2 cartridges only last 200 shots
-
Unfortunately I think the only way to ensure nobody is cheating the chrono would be to only allow 1 weight bought on site, however I'm sure I'm not the the only one who'd avoid a site with such rules
-
Iirc that's what they did at urban assault but with magazines rather than speedloaders as the majority of players were using M4 variants
