  1. Hopefully it won't be such an absolute shit show this time round. I won't hold my breath though if it's the same mob running it
  2. Just make sure it's got the new grips which don't turn themselves into a grenade
  3. So confident and yet so wrong. Private sales are subject to the same laws as shops, whether or not private sellers are as strict as shops is a different matter. You're right that a defence isn't needed for ownership but that's not what we're discussing here. UKARA isn't the only defence and nor is it a legal requirement. A seller just has go be satisfied that the buyer is using it to play airsoft hence why on site shops can sell to players without a site membership. If the vcra was a person it would be old enough to drink in pubs and vote. How are people still getting this wrong?
  4. Volts are volts. The circuit doesn't care about the chemistry of the battery. I've been using lipo batteries exclusively for the past 15 years or so and guess how many guns have had a mosfet. None and how many gins have had failures in that time? Again none. There's alot of bullshit put out about lipos and a hell of a lot of it is sales nonsense specifically designed to part the unwary from their cash by getting them to buy shit they don't need
  5. In the 20 years I've been playing I don't think I've ever had my balls weighed. It's normally a case of being asked what weight I'm using and the guy chronoing to accept it. Sometimes they'll use their own bbs and watch the flightpath of the shot to make sure it doesn't go straight up after 10 yards. Unfortunately the only sure fire way to prevent people from cheating the chrono is for sites to insist everyone uses their ammo and gas which is only going to drive players away. All that can really be done is to make it such a faff to attempt to cheat that it puts those who want to off and for players to be alert to anyone playing silly buggers. It would also help if sites are seen to be doing something when a cheat is found no matter who they are. I'm sure we've all seen or heard of people cheating and getting away with it as they're a regular and mates with the owner
  6. For a regular sunday skirmish I can't see the point as even if you do pick up something useful about what one group are doing it won't tell you anything about the what the rest of the other side are doing. It also puts your side 1 gun down and as it would need to be done away from any firefights you won't have overall situational awareness making the player as useful and welcome as a fart in a spacesuit. For milsim I can imagine it could be useful if done right, but as they're already pay to win this would only make me avoid them even more
  7. Which also has similar looking floors to all the ones in his photos Agreed. The paint job is bad enough but the fairy lights would put me off straight away
  8. Possibly. I'd be surprised if postage for any of those would be a little as £3 though (at least if he wants any kind of tracking or insurance)
  9. "Or collect from Skirmish Airsoft Billericay Skirmish Wood, Outwood Farm Road Billericay, CM11 2TX , price -£3" That's a new one, charging for collection from a site. No wonder he's financially fucked
  10. A bit far away for me but I'll ask the same question I ask to anyone advertising these events. What qualifications do the instructors have?
  11. It's a full size bottle but the pouch came in a bundle and I found a use for it, rather than buying it specifically for the job. It's definitely way more than needed and is usually only carried for long games or if I'm using the shotgun.
  12. When running a chest rig I tend to keep things on my belt to a minimum. At the most just my pistol, pistol mags, a gas bottle and a utility pouch for if things need to be collected. Its easy to fall into the trap of thinking every bit of molle must have a pouch on it, which leads to finding things to fill those pouches. The next thing you know you're dragging around a load of extra kit you don't actually need it use.
  13. I take it you didn't get the one you asked about here? There's a huge selection of AR15 rifles in that price range so rather than getting loads of different suggestions, pick a few you like the look of and we can advise you from there
  14. This It could be argued that .2g is better for cqb as the higher fps means a shorter flight time for the bb. Potentially an advantage when targets are only visible for fractions of a second
  15. None. As already posted it's a way for shops to get rid of crap nobody wants and as its unwanted stuff you won't have much luck selling it on
  16. As everyone else has posted, bin the puffy ones. They're on their way out and are a fire hazard
  17. I've heard some people ask a local shop to check the ukara database. Alternatively if the sale is through here have a look at the 'how did your airsoft day go' thread, if they've posted there then there's a high chance they're a player. The loadout pictures thread is also a good place to check as pictures there are often taken in game. In general trust your gut and treat all sales like a packet of meat that's been in the fridge for a while. If it smells even slightly funky don't bother
  18. I must've been unlucky as every pair magnum boots I've owned in the past 10 years have been crap. The leather was paper thin and they fell apart after 6 months
  19. The only time I use .2g bbs is for cqb It's not hard to work out who the seller is and looking at their post history they do come across as a bit of a nob
  20. Good to hear you got your money back. I'd be contacting usedairsoft as well to let them know he's a scamming cunt. I doubt they'll do more than ⅘ of bugger all but its worth it if it stops someone else falling for it
  21. As above. In my experience the more complex you make a game the higher chance it has of going tits up. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to have to take their phone into a game and risk it getting broken. I wish you the best of luck with it but I don't think it's for me so
  22. I just wear my every day watch which at the moment is a timex explorer. It does the job and wasn't expensive so I won't be too annoyed if it does take a hit. It's usually covered by my sleeve but for extra piece of mind I move it to inside my wrist, which has the added bonus of making it easier to see while shouldering a rifle
  23. A Google lens search shows it was listed here but the ad was deleted. I'm guessing it ended up here at some point
