You and those bloody Nuprol BBs! 😆 @W4KES glad it was nothing sinister. Now the fun begins 👍
-
Yep, the smaller spring, and having double-checked the spares box, none to be found. Nothing on Impulse101 either. Bugger.

First proper skirmish with the MWS today and I was impressed and more than a little happy with every trigger pull. Today was unseasonably warm for Nov so green gas was working well and I even managed to score a few hits during the morning. Feeling I could tweak the hop a bit more, I went to the range over lunch, put a mag through her and was very happy. Slapped another mag in, squeezed off two shots then pffft. Bolt neither fully forward or back, lots of manipulating the forward assist to get it far enough forward to separate the receiver, and there it was - the spring in the extractor bent to buggery. At least I have a spare.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Start of a Multicam loadout, which I always said I wouldn't do, but hey ho. Warrior low profile plate carrier, dangler, radio pouch and cargo pack all from UK Tactical. Ferro Concepts Slingster, BFG QD loops and Esstac KYWI triple 5.56 panel, single 5.56 and single pistol pouch from Tactical Kit, and an AATV t-shirt because it helps a brother out and, well, why not? Still waiting on the FRV shooters belt (hope they've sorted their deliveries out as only read the thread after I ordered, and a TMC 354DO holster. -
Welcome to the forum and to a hobby that will occupy a lot of your thoughts and loads of your bank balance. As others have said, airsofters are generally a very welcoming and friendly bunch. Everyone has been the noob at some point, and even now going to a new site can bring back that same feeling. The main thing to remember is that everyone there has a common interest, so you've got a natural start point to strike up a conversation. Airsofters also love showing off their gear and most will happily pass on their experiences, tips and advice to make sure you enjoy your day and want to come back. As for fitness/experience, don't worry about it. Play your own game until you're comfortable and confident enough to step things up. Additional cardio exercises will help as you progress, and, because there's a lot of crouching and ducking behind objects, get some stretches and leg exercises in. Yoga is awesome for easing the effects of Elvis leg the day after a game, especially for those of us built more for comfort than for speed. Above all, have fun. Keep jumping into the forum as there is loads of helpful advice here, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

No worries. Hopefully I'll get down there before the end of the year. Next game for me though will still probably be Ground Zero. God I miss Combat South 😂

Has anyone been to the Bournenouth site for airsoft rather than paintball? I'm looking for another option besides Ground Zero and the Camouflage website looks decent, with purpose-built game zones. Rather have a first hand dit about the experience though. @Shamalyou mentioned you were going to give it a spin and @Speedbird_666I know you've done paintball there. Any verdict?
-
Yeah, swift clips on the Warrior PC, so no worries. Most 'real steel' kit is, as you say, industry standard, but just wanted a bit of reassurance before spaffing another £200 😆 Thank you.
-
Just a shame Zero One don't care enough about the limits at their own site (Ground Zero) to bother chrono-ing players. Agree with your suggestion of people getting their own chronographs.
-
Nice one mate, appreciate the feedback.

Does anyone know if the Spiritus Micro Fight chest rig (or TMC clone) are compatible with Warrior Assault Sytems Plate carriers? I have the LPC and Recon, but don't like Warrior chest rigs.
-
I had the version with the MLOK front end. Sold it for £140 pretty much straight away earlier this year.
-
Eagle 6 have them in stock, and Fire Support have the CQBR deal with 3 extra mags available. Had excellent service from both of then. MWS from FS and MP7 from E6.
-
Blitz BBs are Zero One airsoft's own brand. I've since bought some Geoffs Precision and ASG Devil Blasters. Not tried them yet but I'll add BLS to the list 👍 I agree. Used their .25s and .28s for ages, and their .3s were perfect. Like you say, bad batches happen
-
Very sensible. Some of the paint jobs just ruin otherwise cracking guns.

Good points well made. I'm trying to resist the urge I always have to shift stuff because I know, as you say, in a couple of years it'll come back around. Partially why I picked up the MK18 rail but am keeping it in reserve. I always thought mounting an optic on the carry handle looked really awkward, but it's absolutely a case of functionality over fashion. Now they have that retro cool look. The BHD/Blood Diamond and Larry Vickers CAR-15 looks are massive. You planning on a paint job or mixing up attachments and tape to break it up?
-
Loads of people do seem to be going back to that style of M4. It's crossed my mind to buy another MWS and give it the Gary Gordon makeover because they do look cool af. And do whatever flavour mayo you feel like pal. You're not going 100% period/screen accurate (dont blame you as the original trigger guard and grip is painful!) so you'll still have your own design...sort of. Looking forward to pictures

What's the plan for the new set-up?
-
I don't have a problem with patches in airsoft. As others have said, we're all playing dress up at the end of the day. Airsofters wearing impression kit are not the same as the wankers that buy berets and medals off eBay and pass themselves off as veterans at November ceremonies. Me and my mates all wore our issued MTP when we first started a couple of years ago because why pay for extra kit when we had free stuff? No rank slides though!

It's almost finished...for now. Just looking to add a set of BUIS. Not sure whether to add the Magpul MBUS, King Arms MaTech 600 or go for the TM MK18. Open to any suggestions from the group. I'm not going for a specific build, just making something I like. That aside my CQBR has been fitted with: Magpul CTR stock and cheek riser Magpul MOE+ grip Magpul MOE trigger guard PTS Radian charging handle HAO Industries Geissele 9.3" SMR copy WADSN PEQ-15 and weapon light with dual pressure switch Angry Gun SOCOM 5.56 suppressor and flash hider Internally I'm keeping it completely stock, standfast the SixG brass nub. Pleased that I also have the G&P MK18 rail as another option too.
-
As @SSPKalisaid, the TM M4 loader is the most consistently recommended. I still struggle a bit and adopt the shake and plunge technique when filling, but put it down to my mags being new.
-
I have a Umarex Glock 17 and it doesn't sound like a skeleton blazing one off in a saucepan when I shake it. Send it back and try another.
-
Had a decent day on Saturday, spent mostly range testing my MWS for the first time. Have to say I was really pleased. Gun is completely stock standfast the SixG brass nub. Consistently hitting the 60m target with .30s, which, for me is ideal. I did try some .36s but only managed 3-4 very sloppy shots before getting a stoppage every time. Any theories on why that may have happened? The BBs were Zero Blitzs.
