  1. Ordered a pair of those adapters, so hopefully I can make use of them, even if I can only use one, it will be better than jaffa taping around the mag to hold the CO2 in place. Also contacted VFC, and they are going to send a replacement hose for free, so that should be on the way this week along with the box mag mount and screws I have ordered as well
  2. Can't really add much more to this. I had the hose on my CO2 box mag fail, but I contacted VFC and they are shipping a replacement hose to me One possible solution to the cool down problem with the green gas tank is to get some small, single use hand warmers and place one or two around the tank to help heat it up.
  3. Hmmm.. I might order a set myself. And if the puncture pin can be removed, It might be worth seeing if I can retap the threads for the larger cartridges
  4. i have one too. very handy, and it also works with my electric speed loader, though trying to balance the mags on top can be a bit fiddly i am also in contact with VFC to arrange a replacement for the CO2 line that ruptured at AI500 as well as replacement screws for the box mag mount plate as one has gone missing, so hopefully the beast will be back in action soon. also need to try and figure out a way of adapting the threads in the block to accept 1/2"UNF threaded cartridges like lifejacket 66g, rather than the M16x1.5 threaded 88g, or the unobtanium and F*%$£"G expensive (in the UK) 74g cartridges that VFC designed the box mag for and are easier to get in asia.
  5. i may need to add it to my list of sites to visit... before it shuts down again
  6. i thought that site shut down? or am i thinking of a different airsoft site/ tunnel complex?
  7. good morning hive mind. looking for a little bit of help with my S&T M320 launcher. i have noticed over the past few months that one side of the ambidextrous safety lever (left side) has been getting loose and struggling to release the safety and at the AI500 last weekend this has now become completely detached and is moving freely independant on the safety lever on the right side, which does still seem to operate the safety.... for now . i have also noticed that the plunger does not seem to be moving very far when the trigger is pulled and it is now struggling to fire moscarts or my TAG shells reliably. has anyone here either taken one of these launchers apart, or can point me to a tutorial video or page to see how much of a ballache it will be to get into the trigger mechanism to see whats broken and what i can do to repair it? thanks in advance
  8. I will try repairing this line again as I still have plenty of slack left in the line, but I will also be contacting VFC to see if I can order a spare line in case this one blows again. To run it on 88g, I just tape around the box to hold everything inside. Not ideal, but I'm talking to a friend of mine to see if it's possible to make an adapter to use the smaller 66g cartridges, bit the main concern is sealing the cartridges while also allowing the pin to pierce them I also like it on CO2, when it works, and agree with you regarding the noise and range being awesome. I ran it at a previous game when I first got the CO2 box, and had one of the enemy players come up to me in the safezone and comment that the noise of the 249 firing was enough to get them to keep their heads down
  9. I was also at the AI500 on Tan team, and inwas one of the few who stuck to the end. Mostly spent the event running my tippmann, but I did briefly run my VFC M249 with a KWA Skorpion as backup so I had a weapon I could use inside buildings, and was carrying my john wick hicapa, but only really drew it from it's holster once in a building to fire a couple of shots as i fell back into a room as other tans moved to cover a stairwell in building D3 to reload my tippmann that had run dry. Got to site Friday for sign in, chronoed all my guns (if @Impulse spotted me, I had a yellow and black trolley loaded with a dozen guns to chrono, so I had backups and backups of backups to keep me in the fight) one thing i found was that my VFC M249 doesnt like ASG Ultra air, which was the only green gas I could get in bulk in time for the event. FPS was all over the place and way down, huge clouds of gas chuffing from every orifice and internals would freeze over after a short burst... something that never happens on vorsk gas, even in cold temperatures.. so I ran it on CO2.. while it worked, but more on that later. I met with fellow members of Tan Alpha team, and as a group of us were staying at a team mates house down the road, we decided to turn my car into our armoury and loaf it up with all our guns to leave on site while we all piled into one car to leave site... we were definately the loudest bunch there messing around, taking the pics out of each other and playing with a bunch of thunder snaps one of the team had brought with them while also trying to get mags loaded ready for the morning XD Friday night was spent at our team mates house, where we threw a surprise birthday party for our 2IC. A fair amount of alcohol was consumed, and we later talked tactics but I retired earlier than the rest as I had been unable to get the Thursday night off work, so I had been awake nearly 30 hours after a night shift... Needless to say I was well rested for the morning. Spent most of the event just trying to find where the most fighting was and getting stuck in, though I did have a few sneaky moments moving through the dense bushes to ambush some greens, or at the very least distract them while even sneakier tans got the drop on them. At one point I was in a small squad trying to sneak round toward Pub when we spotted a Green take down one of our fellow tans. After taking him out we crept out the bushes where we realised it was the green 1IC... who we promptly captured and took back to our spawn. After Marshall confirmed we had the HVT, the call went out that the green objective was to attack Tan spawn to recapture the HVT. Due to comm issues we were unable to summon any other tans to defend respawn, so there were only about 8 of us from the capture squad and who were rearming when we arrived fighting off the entire green team... but we put up a decent fight, with me laying down suppressing fire from the M249. I also managed to get 4 kills with a TAG round during an assault on magazine at the top of the hill near our spawn, with many tans commenting on a beautiful shot. Saturday night was bask to the house for more booze and pizza, with me supplying two bottles of flavoured mead which went down very well. sunday we were outnumbered, starting the day with 27, and ending the day with 23, so inevitably greens were able to push our objectives hard and keep us bogged down, so I resorted to hit and run tactics.. moving between positions trying to harrass the greens as much as I could, particularly in the afternoon, though I did hold building D2 for a while with one other Tan and we were able to overhear some greens commenting that they thought there were at least 5 of us holding the top floor, and committing large numbers to try and swamp us.. but we held off the attacks long enough for reinforcements to arrive, then running low on ammo, I took to sniping green defenders in D1 from the lower floor of D2 before falling back to reload It wasn't all good though. On the Saturday afternoon, the CO2 pipe on my M249 ruptured, meaning it was out of action, and I did try again with green gas after ended for the day, and it was still playing up on ASG Ultra air. I was able to cut out the ruptured bit of pipe and rejoin it to the gas block, but unfortunately it ruptured again on the sunday, so now I need to get a replacement, as well as some screws which have rattled loose and now gone missing. Couple of my pistol mags have sprung leaks, so they need repairing too.
  10. Yeah, I got hold of some "expired" 66g CO2 bulbs from a place that refurbished lifejackets... they have 1/2" UNF threads, but box mag needs m16x1.5 threads ..... and I can't find anywhere that makes an adapter.... bugger =/ On the subject of things breaking... the threads of the CO2 bulbs is immaterial at the moment... ran the 249 at AI500 this weekend, and had the CO2 line rupture on me. Easy fix, just undo the nut on the block that goes into the gun, pop remains of the pipe off the nipple, cut out the ruptured end and refit in reverse order.... only for the damn thing to rupture again on me half way through the morning game. Needless to say I was most annoyed... especially as the MG would have been handy to use when tan team were outnumbered 3 to 1 =/ But when it did work, it was great fun, got some admiring comments, and performed well while suppressing a massive Green team attack against our spawn to recapture their commander, who Tan team had captured out on the field
  11. havent been able to get to a game with it yet. last week i was CQB, so couldnt take the 249, and this week i had another event that didnt finish until late last night, so i would have been in no fit state to attend a game today. im thinking of booking on for next weekend as well, and will be taking "the beast" for a walk.
  12. it is frustrating that most sites dont list the thread size on the cartridges. i dont want to buy some to find i cant use them due to the thread being wrong... and working night shift means it would be a real pain to organise shipping if i need to return them.... as fot the pin... i might have been a bit overly dramatic. the pin doesnt have any lateral play, but it is loose enough that it freely slides out of the reciever. looking at the parts list on VFCs website it looks like i may be missing a retaining clip.. but the Eclip mod i have done is doing the job, so im not going to worry about ordering a new one thanks for the links, i will probably be ordering from one of these links in the coming weeks... but as i have a stock of 88gs, i am damn well going to use them up first... even if i have to replace the end cover of the box mag with gaffer tape for a few games. though i do have a UBAC shirt that has a ripped sleeve, so i might even try salvaging the material to make a cloth cover to fit over the box and hide the CO2 capsule overhang. probably wont work, or will look shit, but if it lasts a few games until i deplete the 88gs then so be it
  13. Shiiiiiiitttttt..... My 88g cartridges arrive today... How much larger are they than the box? FFS... Are there any other sizes of CO2 cartridge readily available that don't cost a fortune? Are all threaded cartridges the same thread? And moving away from the Co2 hassle.... After fitting the para stock, I found the bottom pin (the one holding the rear of the trigger group and bottom of the stock together in the reciever) was extremely loose. I tried squeezing the square clip that sits over the reciever together, hoping it would apply more tension to the pin.... it instead snapped in half. Had to bodge it by fitting 2 "E" clips in the grooves on either end of the pin. Disassembly will be a pain in the arse now, but at least I won't lose the pin in the middle of a game now. I was hoping to try the gun on its new CO2 source this weekend, but if the cartridges will not fit, then i may be screwed =/
  14. duly noted and link saved. thanks for the heads up
