Is there no knowledge about the tokyo arms outer barrel? Is it a good fit? Do i still need the adapter to attach aftermarket rails?

    https://www.powair6.com/en/gbb-parts/6238-tokyo-arms-multi-length-cnc-outer-barrel-for-tokyo-marui-m4-mws-black.html

The only review on that page says that the ring is too big to fir through the handguard and there is no hole for the screw to hold it together (translation thanks to Google!) Would be good to hear some real-world reviews of users on here before ordering from overseas and the issues around returning it should it turn out to be pants.

On another note. Was testing out my Ace1Arms Pmags [they really quiet good IMO] only to have my AngryGun MPA nozzle spring fire out of the barrel 😕 Anyone know where I can get a spare for this rather than buying a whole new Nozzle?

Put a dab of low strength Loctite on it before installing and wait 24hrs before adjusting. Should stop it rattling lose in future.

You do indeed mate. Considering this was a tan gun I'm happy lol

I forgot they did them in tan....I was wondering why you would want to paint a black gun...err...black!

Looks like a good job, will you post final pics?

  4. I had ordered a Modify Tan bucking as a spare last week and today I had a look a the current 60deg Autobot installed...turns out I needed that spare sooner than expected!

Bit of faffing to strip down the whole front end of my MWS CQBR but not as bad as I thought, certainly much less swearing than reassembling an AEG!

I will give it a quick test tomorrow but I am limited to a 12m range at the moment 🙄 The old one at it's last outing at UCAP VENDETTA was picking off exposed knees and elbows at 40m+ so I can't wait to see what it does with a non-ripped bucking and clean barrel 😁

so each type has a different diameter for gas to flow into the valve 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5mm and each also has an adjustment screw to allow more or less gas into the cylinder. The question is, and there is nothing on the G&P website, what values does each 1 cover?

Anyone seen a chart with say Model A with 134A at 20C ranges from 310 - 340 FPS?

The only other way to find out is to buy 1 and see what it provides and then possibly go buy another size based on the results from testing the first one and hoping you got it right.

I think that, somewhere in this epic thread, someone has posted info about one or two of them. Let me see if I can find out and post a link.

Page 20 has some info on the red one:

ebairsoft have thrown up a load of G&P MWS parts on their website. Anyone know why there are 4 different adjustable power nozzle valves?

Each offers a different range of powers. IIRC they each have 3 positions for the pin, but only a small over all range (rather than the NPAS style ones which go from 250 > 450fps!)

  7. TM MWS and G19 load out.

Viper chest rig with no name dangler. Carries 3x M4 mags, Impact grenade and spare primers/tool. Dangler has a first aid kit in and protects my beer gut! 🤣

FRV Tailoring shooters belt with BackcountryWorkshop kydex holster (for G19 and Olight Valkyrie), Eagle Industries double M4 with kydex inserts, WAS fold up dump pouch, Smoke grenade pouch (timed grenade) and single pistol pouch. The M4 and dump/grenade have swapped places from this photo as I shoot left handed with the rifle, right handed with the pistol 🙄

For short CQB games the belt kit OR chest rig on their own is plenty, with both I can play for hours. Using a GBBR makes you chose your shots / battles.

Clothing can be a mix of camo, plain utilities or, usually, jeans and a shirt for the PMC / "Army advisors / mentors" 😉

Throw a M4 speed loader I could have the equivalent of 12 mags (420+ shots!)

Anyone else taken the dive with spray paint yet?

Spent an afternoon with some four star removing multiple layers the previous owner had applied 🤣

As much as I love a painted rifle the MWS will stay black, I have my G&P aeg for that!

Loving the paint you have done though, don't put it down in dead bracken...you will never find it again 😁

  9. So on inspection there was not only the sharp edges of the trigger guard wings but also a hefty burr from a knock it had taken.

I cleaned up the burr with some fine wet&dry paper, de-greased the area and then masked it off ready.

I used black Sugru to fill the gap and blend into the trigger guard wings and also around the scuffed area.

I let it set over night and removed the tape then used a craft knife to tidy up the front where it had overlapped the tape.

Feels great and you would not notice it unless you turned the gun over and squinted 😁

I had a problem with the attachment point from the trigger guard digging into my middle finger. I don’t think a different trigger guard would have fixed this as the issue was actually the bracket where the trigger guard attaches with the roll pin. I fixed it by using some ‘Sugru’ to fill the void and hide the sharp bit. It’s a neat job and looks factory.

ill try and take a picture later today.

I have the same issue, seems the previous owner scuffed it and left a burr on there. Will break out the Sugru later and post some pics too....because I have sod all else to do.

    Ambi fire selector, nice 👍

I shoot rifles left handed so pretty much essential! Not a cheap but easy to fit and makes life much easier.

All legit mag pouches work fine as they are made to carry real weighted mags not plastic mags...full of plastic balls

Esstac are great for open/quick access/reliable retention.

Equal to HSGI, although TACOs can hold a variety of mags, and release with less of a tug, however Esstac can be easier to reinsert a mag due to them staying open - I mean TACOs close up some when empty.

I prefer Esstac and Tacos on a rig.

That said WAS pouches with bungee retention tops are super fast, have zero drag and less bulk.

With belts you don't want to have to pull the mag hard to release.

Hope you've got a Velcro inner / rigger outer belt combo, 4 mags on your hips is going to move around a lot otherwise!

PS I've got a ton of WAS Coyote pouches I need to shift.

    IMG_4328.PNG

I have an FRV shooter belt so carrying weight is no problem.

What coyote pouches do you have to shift? Happy for you to DM me to keep off this thread.

  13. Slightly odd question but I am after recommendations for magazine pouches to use with the MWS on a belt set up. I alternate between a Viper VX chest rig and a full plate carrier (& weighted plates) with kangaroo M4 pouches at the moment but fancy using my FRV shooter belt for lighter load outs.

I think I want a single open pouch and a closed double one (4 mags in total is more than enough for CQB games)

What pouches put up with the hefty MWS magazines bouncing about in them? WAS? HSGI? Other?

Hi my fellow mws owners, i new to the club as i have just spent a few pennies on a new mws m4a1, 5 mags and a lovely vortex 1-4x scope. After a few days reading through this forum, i have purchase a new bucking, inner barrel (asked dave for brass nubs) fire selector as i want to learn how to fit upgrades myself has anyone got any videos or links to do following upgrades.

    - mws disassembly

    - bucking replacement

    - inner barrel replacement

    - fitting brass nub

    - fitting npas

    - locking fire selector to single shot ( as i want to Dmr it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 😃

I have found the Eagle6 videos on YouTube handy for general disassembly / reassembly guides: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIHcndZaGIOO8l4FVv0JQtQ They have videos on removing the barrel / front end and the hop-up - that should cover most of those questions. NPAS is quite easy, again watch the relevant video and simply replace the stock part when you re-assemble!

Other than that YouTube and this thread cover most of it. IIRC there are some pics on here how to mod the selector to single shot only.

Oh, and welcome to the club :)

Not for me either but I don't hate it so maybe in the future I may change my mind.

You can see its a newer version of the Ruger IV

Also looks like an updated Luger.

Ruger actually based the grip angle of their .22 automatic on the Luger due to the excellent ergonomics.

Has anyone installed this ambi selector:  http://www.wiitech.com.hk/product-detail.shtml?product_id=539&path=57_145

I am a lefty and would quite like to go 'safe' without moving my shooting hand too much. I have the CQBR lower (probably exactly the same as the M4A1 lower?)

I fitted the AngryGun one as I shoot left handed as well, was a pretty simple job and seems to work fine.

There are some good vids on YouTube showing how to do it. Eagle6 is my go-to.

I also added a larger bolt release so I can manipulate it with my left hand after putting a fresh mag in with my right.

Mine ran great at the night game on Saturday. 4 degrees and briefly snowing ran on propane topped up with some Mapp gas.

The modify tan does seem to wear down quicker, but the results are great. I think I’ll get the other modify bucking and run some tests. I’ll post up what results I get.

@wo1f can I ask what Propane adaptor you are using? Any changes to the mag fill valves?

    TIA

Hilarious. You’re not the only one. I tried silent fill, and I tried the laylax fill valves etc then I just decided to use Abbey Vertex gas instead. It’s just not worth the hassle, these mags just don’t seem to like propane for some people.

Glad it isn't just me! I think I will return the Laylax valves for a refund then. Glad I have not invested in a 6kg propane cylinder to re-fill from!

So, where does Abbey gas in bulk? I am in Gloucester but play in Bristol and Birmingham....would be good to grab a box of 12 cans at a discount!

I have this issue and am still yet to find a solution. Though the madbull one works better for me than the AI nozzle.

I have ordered some 9Ball fill valves to give them a go.

Failing that I will get a genuine Madbull propane adaptor.

....or just buy shares in Nuprol Green Gas!!!
