  1. Never used any kind of optics for over 10 years, then got an Eotech at a bargain price and haven't looked back since. I'm honest enough to admit the perceived improvement in my shooting probably isn't all that great but that, added to the cool factor has definitely made it worth it. The 68moa circle I'd say is definitely more beneficial in airsoft than the dot. I have since bought a Vortex viper for my glock, mainly for the looks, though I've found that the main benefit is when engaging targets over 10m away, especially if they are ducking in and out of cover.
  2. Totally agree with you on 1911's looking great. Honestly, you could have the best performing pistol, but if you're not into the look, then it's not for you. Will definitely jump on the TM bandwagon here. I had a TM 1911A1 for a couple of years which I skirmished all the time. Yeah sometimes the gas would run out before the BB'S but I carry 5+ pistol mags as a rule. Depends on how much you intend to use it really. If you really only pull your pistol out occasionally for the odd shot, literally buy whatever you like the look of. Pretty much anything will be up to that kind of use. If you use your pistol a LOT (or plan to), you should maybe think in terms of practicality and performance over aesthetics. Currently using a TM Glock that my missus bought me a few years back. Ugly as sin but it's an incredible gun. On a full game day I'll put 500 rounds through it no problem. Hope my rambling has made sense and helped somewhat. I'm not proof reading all that shit lol
  3. Love it, one of my first ever RIF's was a Kart M14 EBR. Good choice!
  4. https://www.evike.com/products/27351/ Evike have some nice licensed Strike Industries goodies for the MWS so I ordered one of these barrels for my DMR.
  5. I'd avoid. If you're patient you can get better for that price point. I paid slightly less than that for my RS Eotech.
  6. I personally think this is a bad idea. Whilst the ankle support would probably be great, they are generally too heavy/clunky/rigid for running around playing airsoft. I mean, if its either that or your trainers, definitely wear the boots. I'm a believer in getting the best footwear possible for whatever activity you're going to do.
  7. To be honest I've been playing 15 years and other than a high ROF jg G3sas in about 2012, I've never internally upgraded any of my RIF's. I have a spare Marui bolt carrier... I'll look out for a Prometheus 6.03.
  8. I still have my original upper which is all stock internally and works flawlessly. Hops perfectly for CQB which is what I mostly play. Just fancied building an extra upper to use as a DMR.
  9. Right, here's the deal, I *could* trawl through all 247 pages in this thread to hopefully find the info I need, but I figure I'll be lazy and just ask. Basically, I've built a DMR upper. It has: 6.05mm x 410mm Orga inner Angry gun complete cnc hop adjuster set Angrygun hop chamber with unicorn bucking Angry Gun high speed bolt carrier with mpa nozzle. At home I chrono'd at 1.77 joules. However, it was failing to hop .30g BB's and had cycling issues. The bolt carrier seemed sluggish when cycling and would occasionally fail to cycle and end up venting the gas form the mag. I have acquired a Laylax hop chamber and nine ball rubber and have ordered a flat hop tensioner.... am I on the right track here? Just looking for general advice on how to get this upper working well. Cost of parts isn't an issue. To keep the power around the 1.8j mark and be able to hop 0.3g - 0.4g bb's and cycle smoothly. Any advice would be much appreciated
  10. Finally got all the bits together for my mws upper. Chronoing at 349-350 with .2g Get to try it out at Spartan on Sunday
  11. Glad you got it sorted. I've never had a leaky mag that I couldn't fix by either tightening shit or using the hot water trick or a combination of the two. Never replaced a seal in my life.
  12. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/angrygun-mk16-m-lok-rail-93-inch---gen-2-version-desert-dirt-color Angry Gun do one, I have the 13.5" version that's going on my upper build
  13. What are these 'shadows' of which you speak?
  14. Inspired by a certain ad in the dreamers thread. Your recently deceased Great uncle has left you £3000 to spend on a RIF. The rules are: You have to spend all the money. You have to spend it on parts that directly attach to the RIF or are integral to its functioning. (Attachments, magazines, upgrades) RIF has to be theoretically skirmishable. (So if you blow £1.5k on gas mags, you have to demonstrate how you're going to run around all day with 30 heavy lumps of metal attached to you lol). RS items are allowed if they can legit be attached to your platform. Be creative.
  15. So I'm cobbling together an upper build for my mws. I have a 370mm inner and the outer plus the gemtech mock suppressor are about 70mm longer. I haven't got all the parts yet to test but is there likely to be any problems with this setup?
  16. Probably your best bet. I'm fairly zen when it comes to Strikeforce. I'm not expecting much other than to get a mad sweat on running around all day and burning through as much ammo as is feasible with gas mags. I pay the speedybois as little attention as possible. They do their thing, I do mine. Gloucester prison is better though. Both sites are close to TGI for post-pew ribs though
  17. Can absolutely understand your frustration. Its basically the speedybois in their ridiculous painball gear and hpa pistols with high cap M4 mags that ruin the site. Their play style basically boils down sprinting around following the stream of BB's that's constantly coming out of their guns. Real pity because other than that, I really like Strikeforce.
  18. You.... you were watching?? Anyway, my tuppenys worth is as follows; I ran mainly iron sights for years with the occasional 'investment' in chinesium aimpoint or eotech clones which I never got on with. Iron sights are fine for short to mid range, certainly when firing streams of BB's, but even with semi auto on a gbbr. However, since picking up a legit XPS-2 for a great price, I'd never go back to irons, even for toys as fundamentally inaccurate as our bb guns, a good optic definitely makes a difference. It's just a question of how much one is prepared to spend for that subjective improvement.
  19. I have mine mounted between 12 and 3 o'clock, pretty far forward with pressure pad mounted on top rail. This setup had been used at a number of CQB sites now and I have no issues with it. The suppressor does cast a bit of a shadow but with 1500 lumens being pumped out, any area I point it at gets so flooded with light that the shadow is negligible.
  20. Looks fantastic except for what do you see when you look through the magnifier?? Edit: just re read, you have the mount but haven't fitted it because you haven't painted it, right?
  21. And the best porn is the stuff that makes you feel uncomfortable afterwards.... that MP5 certainly does the trick lol 👍
  22. Totally get that what works for one person is total gash for the next. Been running my belt setup now for about a year at lots of different sites (mainly CQB) and have found for me it strikes a great balance of load carrying/comfort/mobility. Not found it inhibits kneeling at all and it's kind of something I do a lot
