John_W reacted to Rogerborg in G&G LevAR 15
It's been really great the way that AIrsoftWorld have handled this, and I hope they don't get hung out to dry by G&G.
However, my primary concern is owners, who are out £400 for a paperweight that they've been told not to use until-and-if a fix is rolled out, while the clock is running on their right to reject.
And a gen 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) fix for gen 1 problems is often pushed out by marketing rather than engineering, so I'd be hesitant to trust anything rolled out in haste now.
Frankly, I'd hope to see a recall of all guns sold, and (at minimum) a retailer fix applied. Because if they send out new grips to owners, and they still fail, then it might become a "Well, you must have fitted it wrong" wrangle. The longer you hang onto it, the harder it'll be to get your money back.
tl;dr - if I'd bought one, it would be on the way back for a refund, no reasons given. Which suck for retailers, but it sucks more for owners.

We agree. The grip is too brittle and should be either more flexible (nylon or polypropylene) or a rigid engineering polymer like Delrin. Or a decent metal/alloy.
It is obvious that the stresses on the bolt that secures the grip is vastly increased with the weight and leverage physics of the stock and possibly the longer upper on the 15” model. There has been no reports of the shorty failing at all, which backs this theory.
All three of our failed rifles were on green gas. The first one we filled, the other two verified by the customers, who we know and trust. Plus there were witnesses who confirmed…
We did have the foresight to quadruple check all avenues before broadcasting such a damning post. We have no desire for being sued by G&G for one. Secondly, we now have 59 rifles to micro-manage towards a solution.
Fun days!

For the record: There are other LevAR rifles that have had the same issue, so it’s not restricted to the one dealer and only one of the three rifles that ‘exploded’ was two tone painted. We rarely dismantle guns for two toning as was the case with this one. So just to clarify; none of the three rifles we sold were tampered with or altered in any way, other than one, which was simply masked and spray painted.
We also received a response from G&G later today (Sunday) telling us that they knew of this issue last week. They also asked us to remove our Facebook post, which we obviously refused to do. So, have a think about what’s happened here please as these are the facts, which is very important.

Any site that plays semi only but allows hpa spam at a faster rate than most stock ages on full auto are just stupid. Same with the sudden aversion to tri-shots or gas shells. I had a site the other day tell me no moscart's at close range. The old mosquito mould 180's that are probably older than some players. Where else are you supposed to use them? You could probably throw a hand full of ammo harder but no, that's over kill. 7 rounds to the face though at dead on the limit in semi auto... Rock on!
I don't care about trigger spam, that's how they have set up the gun. If they want to use that then groovy. What I do care about is a level playing field. If they are going to do that then the opposing player should be able to light them the fuck up.

Much better
This. After the success of their other gas shotguns I'm surprised tm haven't released one

I wish Airsoft companies would stop producing ARish none guns ( LevAR 15 is at least based on a real gun). I want airsoft companies to produce replicas of real guns (gas Spas 12 somebody pleas?) or at the least iconic Sci Fi guns.

I'm glad that G&G innovates at least but I'm more excited about their gas shotgun which eats AEG magazines.

Da Fuq ?, so many questions, how'd he get a job as a taxi driver in the first place with so many convictions, aren't taxi companies supposed to screen employees for the protection of their customers.
Why such a piss poor sentence, again considering how much previous he's got, yanks would have thrown away the key with him.
And finally, how the feck is he 49, I'm 56 & he looks old enough to be me dad, years of drugs I'm guessing ?
The whole thing is an epic clusterfuck, as has been pointed out, thank God airsoft didn't get a mention🤞🙏

Well it has been 27 years since the Good Friday Agreement so I guess most of the real paramilitaries are either retired or dead.
As I understand it many of them simply went into organised crime

So, do you lose your minicab licence on the sixth-seventh conviction?

Nice. If there's a way to make the black parts look chromed then I know what loadout I'm doing

John_W got a reaction from Mobius Strip in People’s view of how the sport of airsoft skirmishing will fair if Labour win the election
At the risk of putting this thread back on topic, there was nothing in the King's Speech suggesting further banning replica guns or removing the airsoft exemption...

John_W got a reaction from Nick G in Eye protection, thoughts greatly appreciated
I had an old pair of trackers that I managed to scratch the lens.
Used them as a test pair, quite happily tool a .177 air rifle pellet without marking or deforming.
Not massively scientific, but I was curious, having seen some alegedly "mil-spec" goggles crack from a 500fps sniper test.

“Gosh, I wonder what Women sat on before juries came along? Bean bags I suppose.”
Ah, the oddities of the English language.
