I'm sceptical, for 2 reasons. 

 

1, the vast majority of sites won't allow them. 

2, When they are a commercial flop and the support disappears you might as well have a gun that shoots lazerdiscs.

To anyone wanting to modify "bakelite" type plastics.

 

Dremel, sand or cut them at your own leisure but older western thermosplastics, and any russian thermosplastics are very likely to contain asbestos.

 

Perfectly safe unless you disturb the material buy cutting or abrasing.

There isn't restriction on the shells, that seems to be made up.

And unless you specifically need an 8mm marushin, there is a licenced chiappa Rhino coming out which is what the Mateba is a copy of.

[What Brand AEG and Why?]

I'm not a fan of AEGs, it's something I can't really put my finger on but I guess I prefer the mechanical nature of gas and spring, especially the physical triggers.

 

However, build quality is what I look for and realsword is the best in this field.

Though all my current RIFS are pre 1870 design and technically they are exempt.

Well, boxlock shotguns are a product of the 1850s. They just havent really changed since.

 

The term ‘modern firearm’ is defined in subsection 8 as a firearm other than one whose appearance would tend to identify it as having a design and mechanism of a sort first dating before 1870.

Because they make an outstanding reproduction of a Spencer carbine, an 1860 and an 1887 model winchester. 

I seriously want a colt navy, a Spencer carbine, a yellow boy and an 1887 in real steel. Just on a waiting list for the local gun club.

I think you're looking at closer to 110-120 though as a selling price. 

Unless you need the money I would keep it.

If we want to talk daft I bought a umarex colt single action army. 1873 so just falls within the vcra timing wise. But as it was 177 calibre, no defence needed under the vcra.

 

I have converted it to airsoft, hopped barrel, 300fps on 0.2s.

Now suddenly a defence is required.

A pair of old west guns. 

Ones an Schofield r hopped, the other started life as a boneyard .177 umarex pellet gun, covered in john wayne logos and with loads of writing all over it, fixed it, the accuracy was woeful, converted to airsoft, r hopped, refinished and just waiting for a pair of new homemade inlays to cure so I can replace the awful grip logos.

Both guns are refinished by polishing  then using chemical blackener, gives a real steel like finish.

300 fps. With literally no deviation. It's a little more funky than a Springer it's closer to a pneumatic system. No hop so the range is poor but the most accurate airsoft gun I've used. I sold mine not too long ago and was looking for another.

 

To clarify they are 6mm, totally site legal.

Up the power and people will wear more clothing or armour, making it harder to feel hits. 

 

Personally I think plates in plate carriers and strapping a million items to your chest should be discouraged.
